I am shocked that Terry’s Bakery has so few reviews. This is one of the best places to go to get cookies, bars, and cakes in the area. I think people miss out on this gem because they are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. While that can be slightly inconvenient, I have can’t recommend them more highly. First, lets start with taste. These are the best sugar cookies in the area. Additionally, they have this caramel chocolate chip bar thing that reminds me of childhood. They don’t do donuts but every other dessert I have had here is phenomenal. In addition to the desserts, Terry’s is a shinning example for local businesses. I always get exceptional service. For example many times they give discounts if you buy multiples or will throw in extra cookies for free if it is closing time. Also they(never mention it) but I have a few friends in the nonprofit sector who have told me that they cut deals with local charities to help provide cookies at discounted prices. Do yourself a favor and stop in buy something the next time you are in the area on a Thursday — Saturday you won’t regret it.

Terry Bakery makes, in my opinion, the best cakes/cupcakes in the area(particularly for the price). We used them for the cupcakes for our 2010 wedding, and I’ve ordered cakes and cupcakes from them regularly ever since. While I love Dom Bakeries for donuts and cookies, their cakes are lacking for me and their frosting is so sweet, you’ll feel the cavities come on immediately. Terry cakes are always moist and flavorful and their buttercream frosting is divine. Everything has always been decorated beautifully, even when I’ve given only the vaguest of directions. Particularly good are the spice cake with spice buttercream and lemon with lemon buttercream. Their hours are extremely limited, however, they are also extremely accommodating. My calls have always been returned within 24 hours — in many cases, much sooner — and there’s never been an issue arranging an order or pick-up. The staff is friendly both on the phone and in person. Remember — no credit cards, so bring cash. And happy eating!

Terry Bakery has the best muffins, cookies and cakes. They may looked ‘closed’, but they are worth the peak into the door on weekend mornings. These guys do most of their business to local restaurants and hotels. Locals go here for excellent baked goods.

My plastic surgery co-worker’s family owns this place and I LOVE when we have birthdays or special events(which is quite often…) and Terry’s Bakery caters a cake! I especially love their chocolate on chocolate! Amazing frosting!

Lights are off, 1 door closed & chained shut. Looks closed. Giant neon Open sign isn’t lit up. How do I know they’re open? Lady appears behind the counter after jiggling door, says because of the small open sign on closed door… not too friendly. 1st time here. That makes me not want to come back.

A hidden little jewel. Locally owned since 1951 this bakery supplies treats to such places as Bombadill’s, Moonwink’s Café and Primo Coffee. You can find them by their distinctive sign of two little bakers carrying a giant rolling pin. Terry’s Bakery features everything from super moist specialty cakes to scones, quiches and pies. Come on in and sample familiar wares fresh from the source. You can order cakes in advance by placing orders on their answering machine, I recommend you ask for a call back to confirm. They are open Thursday– Saturday mornings for browsing and buying. Parking is a pain but the trip is worth it.
