I loved the atmosphere, drinks, food and the service. This was a great place to hang out for some good food and drinks. The servers were very friendly and helpful, and were very patient as we tried to split checks for our large table. They made great recommendations for beer to go with your food, and when I asked for something local and described my tastes, I ended up with something delicious(not that I can remember what it was). Plan to go with a large appetite, but don’t worry, your wallet won’t take too bad of a hit. Share the tots with a friend or two, and be sure you get different wursts so you can try each others. Perhaps try a «usual» and an «unusual» if you’re up for a bit of a culinary adventure. I wasn’t feeling too adventurous, so I did stick with a «usual»(Garlic Toulouse) with all the toppings on a pretzel bun. Delicious. I don’t know that I’ll be in Ypsilanti again anytime soon, but if I am, I know this is a good place to hit up!

Wurst Bar really is Worst Bar. We came in had to clean and remove the dirty glasses from a table in order to sit down. We waited over 25 mins and still no server. He never even acknowledged us. Lol…no tip for after waiting at the table we go to bar and order. Another 25 mins… lol…Dont come here on weekends after 12am. Service sucks. Hope our food is good.

Love this place been here many times I was coming to this place when it was not expanded and the bar was smaller. Their food is good and their service is always courteous. Now more about their food, they have different brats /wursts and hotdogs which I like very much as an alternative to burgers, but their burgers are good too. This last time I went I had the lobster rolls and mixed tots. The other great thing about this bar is the revolving beer taps they always have good michigan beers on tap. Their menu has something for everyone even down to the loaded vegan tots. I’ll be going back soon. When you go try the curry ketchup or the sweet marshmallow dipping sauce they both go well with tots.

Big fan. Hotdogs are art here. Not very expensive comparing what you’re getting. Wish they’ve more micro brewing beers thought. Totally hipster place to watch some game too! Ask for their Rattle snake sausages on your hot dog. No kidding!

We keeping coming back to this place because we love it. They have some very good happy hours every day of the week. We mostly visit on Fridays because they have some good $ 2 craft beers after 8pm. If you’re in luck, you’ll get to meet Bridget — their awesome bartender. She’s so fun and served us very well! We love their tots, brat wurst — they have vegan brats too which are very good. Our friends had pretzels and they loved it too. We will definitely come back for more!

I am really disappointed in the changes to the new menu. They took amaze things off like the buffalo chicken tots and the late start sandwich. The beer selection has gotten better while the food has started slipping.

The Wurst Bar has become one of my favorite places to go to. I was a regular at this location before it became The Wurst Bar. They have definitely won my heart after taking over this place. Great food and great drinks.

I know this place is all about food in a tube, but honestly this is home to the best burger I have ever had. Like ever. Oh and the poutine tots are the bomb. Must have.

SETTING: Not your typical«bar», but more of a casual dining spot that also includes a bar. The bar is only half of this venue and does not interfere with people who want to eat at a booth or table. Plenty of space for everyone. FOOD: I’m not the biggest fan of bratwursts, but I am a big fan of unique places that specialize in only 1 – 2 things. That’s what these businesses leans on, and for a place with a high rating, they must be doing it right! At Wurst Bar, they pride themselves on brats and tater tots. So I ordered both – best decision that night. I liked how you could choose your own toppings and bread to go with the various flavors of bratwursts. The quality of tots would make Napolean Dynamite proud! Soft and crispy, just how they should be. None of that burnt and mushy nonsense! If you’re gonna gobble up calories, they better be worth it, right? There are also many drink specials throughout the week and weekend, so keep an eye out for that. SERVICE: Friendly wait staff who were pretty quick with bringing out food. IMPRESSIONS: 15% off if you check in on Unilocal!Great deals off drinks. Unique and delicious bratwursts & tots. Check it out If you’re in the mood for something a little different!

Food is 5 stars, beer is 5 and friendly staff is 4. Only problem is not receiving water after asking for it 3 times and rarely seeing our server… Nice guy though. Love the hipster urban vibe in here. Keep it up

Being a touch of a new-comer to the Ypsilanti dining community, I was extremely impressed with the quality put forward by the Wurst Bar. We ordered a few burgers, which we had cut into fours so we could try them. By far, hands down, no question the Mr Peanut Butter burger was the best. Could be the best I’ve ever had. We also had the Italian burger which was also incredible. We will definitely be back to try more. #Epic

I have loved this place for years, but have had less than stellar experiences the last few times I have been there. Last Sunday, a big group of friends and I were there. We expected to wait, because there were so many of us but the entire meal took 2.5 hours. Thanksgiving dinner at Grandma’s house didn’t take that long. Our server was not at all concerned about the sluggish nature of things and had a «meh» attitude the whole time(I am very reluctant to criticize servers, so this is huge for me). There were maybe 10 other people in the restaurant at the time, so it’s not like they were hopping. My friend had to ask three times for water, and when our food came out, it was cold. I’m hoping that things improve. I know I will go back, but it’s been disappointing.

Yaaas! Definitely one of my favorite snacky-type food places. If it’s dippable(tots, fries) or it fits in a bun(dog, burger) it’s a matter of a specific craving to me. I couldn’t eat this too frequently, but when I’m here I am very happy indeed. Whoever here decided upon marshmallow fluff dip with sweet potato tots. I bow to you. Delicious! A little sweet, but hey. I like the spicier brats here, the vegetarian one and the rattlesnake are favorites. My husband enjoys the fat, juicy burger topped with a PBR wurst. A little too much meat for me, but he seems to dig it. Also noteworthy are the pimento cheese(so good!) and their salad with housemade dressing. Oh, and the extensive(craft, local) beer list of course — how could one forget?!

I have been curious about The Wurst Bar for quite awhile now. I don’t go to Ypsi very often though. Yesterday, we finally had the opportunity to check it out. It’s quite the popular joint and I can see why. I really liked the space and décor. It was crowded on a Friday night, especially with the Summer Fest ending for the night. We didn’t wait too long for a seat. We just grabbed a seat outside. As always, beer is important to us. They have a pretty decent list. The menu looks pretty good. I was all about a burger at that point. Of course, we had to try the tater tots. My husband ordered the poutine tater tots. The burger was pretty good. I’m kinda bummed it was cooked well instead of medium rare, but it was still delicious. Those tater tots though… oh man. Especially in the poutine. This was definitely a meal that requires a nap afterwards. Service was pretty good considering how busy they were. There was a constant line to get in, which is expected. I’d like to go back and try other menu items!

Had this place bookmarked for quite some time. While I am glad I visited, I wish things would have been a little better. Let’s begin with the good stuff: The ambiance! It’s a really cool bar right near campus, but it doesn’t feel like a regular«campus»(AKA dive) bar. It’s nicer than that, but not too nice you can’t enjoy the $ 2(or however much they are) PBR. The staff! I ended up sitting at the bar and the bartender, Sam, was a gem. I got a very friendly greeting as soon as I walked in and he was very attentive and nice. I had asked about the alcohol content of one of the beers(it wasn’t listed) and he was more than willing to look it up. The Beer! I’ve never seen such a beer list. It was organized extremely well was very thorough. They have an extensive variety. Everywhere from Belgium to Bridgman, MI is represented. I ended up having an Atwater Brewing Lager that was really good. The tots! I will admit, I am not much of a tot expert, but these were fantastic. Id take them over french fries any day! Great flavor, perfect temp, generous portion and just the right amount of salt! The not so good stuff: The wurst. I’ve had better wurst. Sorry. I had the Chicago Wurst dog that was a «red hot» loaded with tomatoes, sport peppers, poppy seeds and pickled vegetables. The pickled vegetables were my favorite part! Crisp and delicious. The flavor of the red hot was ok, but the texture was strange. I didn’t care for it. I will say, it’s probably because I eat too much processed food and wasn’t used to a mealy type texture of the sausage. In my defense, a lot of others also commented on the questionable texture of the food. The price. It’s a little steep. The wurst was $ 8.95 and I had to pay extra for the tots. I’m not saying they weren’t worth it! They were. It would just be nice if a few could be included… Overall, I am glad I went. Would I rush back? No. Is it worth a stop if you are in Ypsilanti near the infamous water tower and/or the prestigious campus of Eastern Michigan University? Absolutely. Get the tots.

I love this spot! The food is great! The first time I went here, I was blown away by the food. It’s decorated like what I would consider a man-cave with an old-school video game in the front and all. I’ve gone a couple of times at night and when it’s busy, service can be really slow. Sometimes, I find myself tracking down my waiter which is less than ideal. Going during the day right when they open is best for prompt service. The Fried Hot Chaurice is one of my favs. The sweet potato tater tots and the marshmallow fluff are amazing! I could just eat that marshmallow fluff with a spoon. The Mr. Peanut burger is pretty tasty as well. You can tell the peanut butter is homemade. It has a really earthy, nutty flavor. And the pretzel bun just takes it to another level. And the bacon, the bacon just makes everything better. They have a wide variety of brats to choose from for the timid and the very adventurous so if you’re up for some unique flavors or just want to stick to what you know, The Wurst Bar has you covered for brats(and other things)!

Beef Brisket Burger on Brioche w/Sweet Potato Tots Original — House Ground brisket, dipped in a proprietary blend of Umami Rich Sauces and Flat Iron Grilled. Our 6.5 ounce Burgers are Cooked To Order on Pretzel, Sesame Seed or Zingerman’s Brioche, Served with Seasoned Lettuce, Onion & Tomato — $ 6.95 Traveling across the country, I’ve definitely had my share of burgers. This one? My, My! I’d move atop the joint just so I could eat here daily. These guys are known for meat(Sausage to be exact). Gourmet Brats, Burgers and Beers is their motto! Therefore, they’ve got their meat figured out. If you’re in the area, well hell, even if you’re not in the area, you need to check this joint out. Ask them for the Original… and don’t forget the Tots! A no, it’s not a beer and a shot kinda’ joint, it’s actually a Gastropub. They attract more of a Trendy, Hipster crowd, as well as the locals from MU! If you’re lucky, you’d even happen upon their place while in the midst of their«20 Feet of Meat» Eating Contest!

I thought this place was really rad. Yep I’ll use the word rad, because it made me feel stoked about coming here again. Stoked. yep. Serious love here. I love the whole funkiness of the place, which is only cherry-topped by attentive staff and yummy food. I ordered the Mr. Peanut burger on brioche, which has bacon, patty, and peanut butterrrr which actually you hardly notice because its umami-ness melts into the beef. mmmmm. umami… My boyfriend ordered the Mr. Monster burger with a pretzel bun(which he says the salty goodness«sealed the deal» on the burger love”. It had 2 beef patties, egg, bacon, chorizo chili, pimento cheese, swiss, lettuce, onion, and tomato. It was a beast for sure. The side of sweet potato toasts was totally worth it. Best little things ever. With a oh so nom nom marshmallow dipping sauce. Made me night. I wish they had more nonalcoholic drinks, like milkshakes, butttt it is a bar sooooo(but seriously, it’d be great). I really wish they had desserts, because I feel like they’d rock them silly. Parking meter lot really close by. and Insomnia Cookies, just in case you really wanted that dessert they don’t have.

Finally had a chance to stop in here on a Saturday afternoon and I have to say I was super pleased! The vibe is laid back hipster-like with pretty cool tunes playing from the juke-box. Craft beer lovers will have a hard time choosing but it isn’t just a bar with funky chandeliers — no, its so much more. Let’s talk about the meat. It’s kinda like the star of the show, imo. I love a good sausage… just the right amount of snap. Some grease, but not overly greasy. With perfect toppings like caramelized onions or a choice of 4 different mustards. And let us not forget the bun… a great sausage should have a great vessel to deliver the meat to your mouth! Here you have a choice between a sea salt pretzel roll, a Zingermans brioche bun, a New England split top white bun or for those carb conscious folks a lettuce wrap. What a great lunch we all had! Can’t wait to go back!

The Wurst Bar’s offerings tempt the hidden(or not-so-hidden) hipster in all of us that enjoys craft beers, force meat, and umami flavors. The menu focuses on the four main food groups: Beer, Tater Tots, Bratwurst, and Hamburgers, so leave your diet at home when coming here. For those that do not prefer red meat, you can substitute chicken or the vegetarian option(chik-fu, which is a vegan chicken-flavored patty) on any burger free of charge! Very cool move, Wurst Bar! Gluten-free folks can also dine here on cased wurst in lettuce wraps. Tuesday through Sunday feature specials outside of the usual happy hour, which is daily from 4−6pm — — Bingo Tuesdays, Whiskey Wednesdays, Thirsty Thursdays, $ 2 Craft Beer Fridays, Well Saturdays, and Industry Night Sundays. Finally, there are plenty of tvs, a jukebox, MegaTouch, and skeeball here, which appeal to my A.D.D. tendencies. Overall, a great spot to ruin your diet and have a fun night out!
