Bonitas was good then Albertos bought them and now I never go that way to eat. Aztec tacos looks better next door. I wish the brother still owned it they knew how to cook and make great food. I hope they open again somewhere else.

So we decided to pick up some Mexican so no one had to cook since the whole family was under the weather. Apparently it’s under new ownership. I seen all the good reviews before it changed and didn’t read the change part. #1 The GPS is wrong. They are off the main road. #2 Their rice is terrible. It’s bland. You are better off eating white rice. It doesn’t taste any different. #3 Al Pastor taco was 3 out of a 5. Ok but I wouldn’t get again. Carnitas were 2⁄5. Meat was tough. Garbage burrito no beans was good Chile Rellano wasn’t good. She didn’t like the way it was cooked. Chile Verde was really good. I wasn’t a fan of any of the salsas.

This place is Abertos now and the meat taste old not fresh, I never liked the food when it was Bonitas either. I was hoping for better food with the change of ownership but taste the same or worse, so far Arteaga’s down the street is my favorite in town, meat taste fresh and juicy every time.

The food kind of tastes the same, but is a little off… the chicken is still grilled which is good. But the rice tastes generic and the salsas are a little different. The menudo sucks. It’s all water pretty much. Not a lot of flavor. Or meat. Or hominy. I ate it felt like something was missing. Like, the menudo part. Two stars because the green hot salsa was okay and the chicken is grilled.

I had the garbage asada burrito. I liked it, my first time having it garbage style. It comes with lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, rice, beans and your choice of meat for about $ 8. It was worth it. I will come back again.

Delicious restaurant. The food was very good, and very cheap! The servings were good for the price they give. And the tamales are amazingly good! great restaurant overall.

The Al Pastor is the best my wife and I have found outside of the local joints in Mexico. The chips and salsa was good. And really fair on the pricing. Glad I found this little hole in the wall.

They were great! Their veggie tacos are delicious even without the cheese since I’m vegan. And the corn tortillas were quality tortillas. My boyfriend liked his ground beef burrito, he just didn’t want to wait for it to cool down, so complained about the temp after. I’ll be back.

I paid $ 10.75 for carne asada fries, where the fries weren’t even cooked. The fries were white, limp, and soggy. The toppings were tasty, but I had to pay $ 2. extra, on top of the $ 8.75 price, to add beans. That was the most expensive I’ve ever paid for carne asada fries, and to have them not even be cooked properly was a major fail. The second fail was when I ordered the chicken taquito plate, which was on special, with all rice instead of the listed rice and beans. Apparently, ordering anything different causes you to be charged more. It’s a dumb policy, but I can live with it. What I can’t live with is that the cashier charged me extra without bothering to tell me. I discovered it while I was waiting for my food, and questioned the woman who gave me my food. She walked away for a couple minutes, and a third woman came over to tell me why I was charged more. So, the cashier charged me more without bothering to tell me, and then couldn’t be bothered to come over and tell me why. Way to treat your customers like crap, Bonita’s.

The previous five star review was originally for Bonitas Mexican food, which had delicious food, but NOW it’s a completely different restaurant :/and ran by a different owners. Therefore, I can’t give it five stars. Food is not nearly as good.

This place is awesome, especially after a hike on the near by trails. Despite living about 20 miles away, we come here almost weekly. I’ve tried about half the menu item and have yet to be disappointed. Their ground beef is seasoned to perfection. It’s a cute little family restaurant, all outdoor seating, closed on Sundays. Definitely one of my family’s favorite restaurants.

The food here is great, my kids love the garbage pile. I love the carnitias. I have yet to try anything on the extensive menu that is bad. The did is all made to order so plan on a bit of a wait. Always worth it.

Authentic high quality Mexican food at a reasonable price. Chips and salsa are free and really good. Had the carne asada which was very tender and flavorful. Will diffidently be back.

Today was my second time going. Last time I got some al pastor tacos, and ordered a Garbage burrito. but they forgot to give me my garbage burrtio. Pissed me off but okay first mistake, food is good. Forgiven Today I went for my alpastor tacos, garbage burrito, bean and cheese. Food is good. BUT they don’t listen. I asked them to take out cilantro on one of my tacos. They forgot to do that, wrapped one up separate, but it had cilantro. This time I even asked them to repeat the order and the requests. ANOTHER thing that reduced a star off this place was that they are so damn stingy with their salsa. That pisses me off. It’s just salsa! I’ll rather have them up the price of the food by $.25. But overall food is good, so just make sure they get the order right.

This is kinda a no brain-er. Talk to just about anyone in Yucaipa and they know of and love this great little gem. I have been coming here now for about 3 years even before I moved here. I am a fan. I bring all my friends here they are fans too. The only thing I noticed that is different is the red sauce for the enchiladas. It tastes like spaghetti sauce, its kinda gross now. It never was like that before. The prices have gone up too and while we still eat here and love it, we don’t eat here as often as we would like to, if they were a lil lower. 5 stars if they would fix the red enchilada sauce and have better combo prices, just saying.

Second time here and it is awesome. Great carne asada and generous portions for all of the plates. Really nice shaded area especially because there is no inside seating. It’s in upper Yucaipa so it’s a ways off the freeway but it is worth it!
