If there was a «No Star» button on here, I would click that 100 times. Every review on here is correct, the owner is racist and rude. It was my first time up here with my boyfriend and we had a great day, after getting some pie and ice cream, this store was our last stop. I told my boyfriend to stay in the car that I was going to go into this little gift shop real quick, he stayed and as I walked in and looked around, I saw out dated clothes and hats and such. I found some cute socks(my boyfriend and I are into socks with designs and stuff) so I saw some with deer on them and thought hey! I’ll get a pair for each of us and surprise him when I get back into the car. I grabbed the socks and i was ready to pay. However, a white older man walked into the store(nothing against white people, but this is part of the story) and he and the owner had a full conversation. I stood for a good while at the cashier and the owner didn’t budge at all, she went on talking and me being politely I didn’t want to interrupt. When she stopped talking for a split second, I said«excuse me I would like to pay for these» and she said«I hope so, that’ll be way better than you stealing them»… Excuse me? That was rude, and my boyfriend walked into the shop to check on me wondering why I was taking so long(since she ignored me for the longest) to finally allow me to pay. Let’s just say I will never come back to this shop. Every other place I went into was full of nice people!

Workers were rude and told me I was not allowed to be in the store with my protein shake… So much for small business Saturday right!!! I do not feel welcome!!!

As soon as the owner saw my boyfriend and I looked at us she had the look of disgust as soon as we walked into the shop. We are an interracial couple. He is white and I am brown. Prior to us walking in the store she was laughing and giggling and explaining how a very lovable clock she had in her store worked, to some people in her store.(The people were white) When I asked her about the clock and how it worked it was like pulling teeth. My boyfriend and I kept going about our business and he happened to see this cute stuffed animal that had the option of playing a song when you pressed its little hand. He pressed it and when it started playing the song, we both laughed. The whole time she was staring at us like if we were some kind of criminals an immediately turned off the song. My boyfrienf and I dismissed the incident and we continued looking at all the other stuff in the shop. We came upon a zippered sweater that my boyfriend and I liked and wanted to purchase because he forgot his and it was chilly in Oak Glen today. There was 4 folded sweaters and one was not folded so as anybody would he grabbed the one that was not folded and started looking at it. When we were standing there deciding if we should purchase the sweater or not she went straight to us asking us what we wanted. My boyfriend proceeded to inform her he was deciding if he was going to purchase the sweater and she flat out told him he can leave the sweater right there where he found it and told him she will fold it. Assuming he was the one that had unfolded the sweater. We immediately left. I did come back into the store to ask her if she was the owner and she confirmed she was. I normally don’t share stories like this but this time it was different. It sad that even in our own back yard we still deal with prejudice and racism. I hope you share my story so people like her know that people like me have a voice. If you ever happen to visit Oak Glen California be cautious when walking in this store as you might experience something similar to my boyfriend and I.

STAYAWAY. The woman who was in charge of the store was very rude. Their clothing is overpriced to begin with. She has one sorry sale rack in the front with several pieces of damaged or outdated clothing on it. I was considering one dress that was decent and then noticed that it had a HOLE in it. She hemmed and hawed over it and I was going to just put it back but asked, «Would you consider taking $ 2 off and I would repair it on my own?» Suddenly she was haughty and snooty and rude. She said, «ABSOLUTELYNOT!!! That is a VERYGOODPRICE for that dress!» I said, thank you and left politely. I was pretty shocked to be talked to in that tone. I was so polite to her and cannot believe she treated a customer that way. She had every right to say no. She gets to pick the selling price after all but could have been more gracious and said, «No, I want to stick to that price.» Either way, I will never go back there and will actively discourage others to go to a shop where the owner has such an attitude toward her customers. On a positive note, I did go into the Jewelry store in front(Indian Jewelry) and the couple in that store are very friendly and talkative and were a pleasure to do business with. Generally, if you are going to visit Oak Glen, you probably want to stick to the farms and other restaurants. The Village is just way too«swap meet» meets the big city Fair.
