American Tire Depot – Yucca Valley

Ehh. Three hour ordiel was told it’d be 1 to 1 ½ hours. Wrong size tires noted and put on THEN they realize that after said tires are put on. Upgraded us to Goodyear cause that’s «all they had» only got $ 200 dollars off my $ 600 bill. They need work.

The guys here are great. Mike the manager explains everything to you so you understand before they start the job. This is important to me because I am not a car person and I have to rely on the judgement of others. My only complaint is that the chairs for customers who are waiting are uncomfortable. They are a full service shop in addition to selling tired for a great price!

I thought I would go here rather than to the dealership and save money. I called and the guy said come on down. But when I got there he said there would be a wait. Then he asked what kind of brake pads I wanted. I wanted the best but he didn’t know if the best was carbon fiber or ceramic. After talking among themselves and then calling the supplier he said the best was the ceramic and the brake job would be $ 200. I knew I didn’t need rotors but the guy went into a song and dance about after they resurface the rotar, they can’t guarantee it will still be in spec. I lost confidence and called the dealership from my car. The Volvo dealership said the brake job would be $ 200. The dealership uses Volvo brand ceramic pads. And the final bill was $ 188, cheaper than this place.

These guys are fantastic! Kind and helpful employees, hard workers and honest people. Amazing prices and deals, my bill ended up being several hundred dollars under what I thought I would be paying. The gentleman that was servicing my car needed to find the lugnut lock for my rims and came to get me so that I could get it myself instead of, as he put it, searching through my personal belongings (I trusted their work and wouldn’t have minded if he had anyways).
The only reason I took a star off is directed at the owner or management of this establishment– staff more people on Sundays!!! It took me three hours to get out of here. It’s a weekend day and there were four people waiting for help less than 5 minutes after opening, the poor guy behind the counter was working as hard as he could to help everyone and employees this good deserve enough backup to get the job done efficiently.

Very satisfied with my experience. The customer service was great and we were given a great deal. I felt a great deal of honesty and was not made to feel obligated to purchase anything extra than what I came In for. I was given a full report of needed services and with no extra charge. Thy have a shuttle service which is excellent and convenient overall very satisfied and will be coming back.

This store is corrupt and dishonest. The manager, Ken, drinks beer with his staff in front of the customer and offers beer to the customer. He also intakes your car for brakes and delivers it to you with the check engine light on that wasn’t on before. Instead of correcting it he ignores it and tells you, «Don’t worry. The PCV valve will reset and the check engine light will go away.» It didn’t go away and my car died on a dark deserted road. Because he’d rather drink beer with his staff than do his job and fix the problem or accept responsibility for it and fix it so the check engine light goes away and your car stops dying he has to be reported to appropriate authorities. Even then this company still does not accept responsibility for its actions. If you are a woman in particular stay far away from this company. Ken also yells at his customers if you complain about the bad, incompetent service he and his staff and company provide.

This is long over due. I had a leak in one my rear right tire and went here to replace all 4 tires. They say it will be an hour… no biggie. I go eat and come back in an hour and much to my surprise they are not finished. Not only are they not finished, they JUST realized that of the 4 tires that they were going to give me… they can only find 3. Again, no biggie… give me 2, but I emphasized that I need the rear ones done because of the flat. Mind you, this is closing hours as well. They waste more time looking for the tire with frustration and finally, an hour and 45 minutes later (45 minutes after closing) my car arrives with their tires. So, I drive home and wake the next day, planning a road trip to Vegas… and guess what… my front right tire is now completely flat! So here’s what happened because they have no clue: they took all 4 tires off… realized they didn’t have 4 tires an hour later and just threw a pair on which just so happened to be the ONE TIRE I NEEDED TO FIX. If I was in the area that following day I would have demanded a refund and went across the street to get the job done right the first time. Zero stars for service and lack of attention to detail. The saving grace was some nice man at the register who had awesome customer service. Needless to say, I will never willingly be serviced by American Tire Depot. Ever.

These guys started out really friendly and straight-​forward and wound up shouting insults at me as I attempted to understand their refusal to complete the job that they claimed they had done.
After some major work at another local mechanic, I was referred to american and told that I’d get an alignment at half price. I had noticed after the initial work at the other mechanic that my car wasn’t driving straight. I mentioned this upon my arrival to american and they had no problem agreeing to the half-​off gig. They said it would take between a half hour to an hour.
Two hours later, I’m asking what the deal is and they start talking about a tie-​rod that is jammed. But then explicitly said that the alignment was completed (which, come to find out, doesn’t make sense because the alignment can’t be completed with a jammed tie-​rod). When I left, I noticed the car was still not driving straight. So I went back and the manager personally got in the car and took it for a spin. When he came back he became defensive, argumentative, and while acknowledging that the alignment was still off he said he just «didn’t want to deal with me anymore» and that he’d issue a refund. All the while, I’m just trying to get an idea of what was going on so I can get my car fixed properly and they just kept arguing and not explaining things clearly. They accused me of being «the kind of person who just isn’t happy about anything.» They were simply defending the supposed fact that the alignment was completed, even though the car wasn’t driving straight. It made no sense and I left without any clue as to what to do.
I called another place down the road and received wonderful service the very next day. They were able to clearly explain what had happened, including the fact that the alignment had not been completed.
My theory is that american has crappy workers and they know it and don’t want to admit it to customers. I think they agreed to a deal they wound up resenting and then became defensive and argumentative just to get rid of me. Bottom line – bad business and terrible customer service. Good service means as a mechanic you’ll be clear about the work, consistent with your promises and honest about what’s being done.
I wouldn’t trust the other reviews here, seems many of them are likely relatives or friends of the employees at american. I’m left feeling they lack the kind of integrity that such a good review requires and I’m guessing many others have bad experiences but just don’t report them. Id have given one star if they weren’t so nice starting out. It’s misleading. Don’t trust the smiles.

My experience here was the best. I noticed my wife had a leak in her tire and had to get it fixed asap !!! so first place i hit up was the place across the street and the price of a tire patch was $ 25 with an hour to hour and 45 min wait time… I didn’t have the time frame for that kind of wait time for a quick patch!
I stopped in here and was greeted by dale I think his name was and asked the wait time on a tire patch and he replied «we can do that right now for you»!! So we were sold! Me my wife and my Lil girl sat there for about 20– 30 min and that was it we were done! The price was so incredibly fair they will have all of my future buisness for as long as I live in yuccavalley! !

They were absolutely amazing, I’ve never walked into a building and had such amazing customer service. They genuinely cared about me and my car, and had the best prices around. I would have to say Ken and Chris are absolute wonderful and made my tire buying experience the best I’ve ever had thanks guys!

Called to see if they had a RV tire in stock and they did when a few other tire shops had to order it asked when they could install the tire and they said «drive on down» dropped the RV off and they had it done by the time we where done grocery shopping… In addition I paid less then what was quoted to me on the phone with a tire warranty. To me that is a win win!

They were fast and very professional & customer service was exceptional! Ken patched my tire quickly and explained things to me before during and after the process. This was my 1^st time here, there were other customers but my wait time was short. I’ve visited and used a few of the other surrounding tire places but this is the one I will return to when I have another tire need! Highly recommend!

Amazing customer service from the staff and Ken. They replaced one tire for me because it was very bald and I was driving back to Phoenix AZ the same day. It’s a scary thing to have to replace a very bald tire when you’re on the road and Ken put me at so much at ease with their service and efficiency in helping me get back on the road safe and sound. Thank you Ken and staff! Everyone should go here for any tire emergency!

Mediocre car service. They are cheap but they definitely lack in customer service. I felt like I was at a place where they all hung out and barely worked. I was there for about 2 hours and they turned my rotors. Cheap but probably won’t be going back due to lack of customer service

Best tire place around!!! American Tire Depot goes above and beyond to help there customers. The first time I went there they fixed a flat at the last minute and didn’t charge me. The next time I went in I got my tires rotated and an oil change I was in and out in about 45 minutes and at a very reasonable price. So reasonable that I went home got my other vehicle and brought it back same day for an oil change. Ken at the front desk is an amazing person with great personality. Mark and Luis did an excellent job on the service of my vehicles. I highly recommend American Tire Depot. They are even open on Sundays. Thanks Guys see you soon for my brakes. :-)
