The Design of this place is very nice. But the the Design of a Restaurant should not be better than the food they sell. My Burger was nothing special. A normal Chicken Burger with fris. The Omlette with mushrooms and tomatos from my girlfriend was not what we’ve had expected. I can do it better at home:) The Coffee was okay… The place is way too overrated. Skip it!

Fish and chips, with a pint of Guinness, nothing else needed. The place has a great atmosphere, cordial service and delicious food. I would say a bit expensive(although totally worth it) but, hei, just the Hong Kong normal. Actually, probably a better cost/benefice than other places around. 5 stars!

Dropped in for a late lunch and got the brick lane burger. The thing was big with a side of chips and salad. Just what was needed after a long day out. The french toast looked amazing.

I think it’s trying a little too hard to be British without quite getting it right. The all day breakfast is a strange combination of bacon, sausages, smoked salmon and cheese, which you would never ever see in a British café and for very good reason, it just doesn’t work. The eggs benedict is good though and there aren’t too many other options in this area for this style of food

We came here a part of the promotion of restaurant week. It has the English cuisine theme but it has more than your typical English dishes(and missing some of the classics). I had pork chop and it was very dry. The check came in over US$ 70 per person including drinks that we had(happy hour price). It was just not that good.

Ordered the all-day breakfast and a cappuccino. The food was good, but not ‘extraordinary’.(Well… It’s just the basic breakfast food, so yeah… Can’t really go wrong… Can it?) I had the scrambled eggs, with sautéed portobello mushrooms, grilled tomato and baked beans. It came with a slice of toast and a small side salad. The eggs were nicely done, still a bit runny and smooth(as long as it not all dried up, I’m okay with it.), and taste fresh. The mushrooms are pretty good, nice texture and not drenched in oil. The baked beans… Umm well at least it is not cold. The toast was crispy and smells really good. Someone told me they made their breads, but I’ve yet to confirm on that. All I know is, it doesn’t taste like the average toast you get at fast food chains. The cappuccino was great. Nice aroma(from the coffee beans). Could be stronger. Both the food and the coffee have nice presentation, which made for good instagram photos I suppose. If a leisurely breakfast and a few cool ig photos is what you’re after, then this is the place for you. But in terms of how ‘good’ the food is, I would say it is better than average only. With that price, I’m confident to say that there are better options.

It’s a quaint corner café place that I walked in without doing any type of research. Ordered egg & ham for breakfast and the food was surprisingly fresh and healthy. I felt like eating Asian food in HK was tough to find nutritionally balanced dishes. BL reminded me some of the organic breakfast joints that I like to frequent in the States.

Bricklane Gallery Restaurant and Bar located in Tsim Sha Tsui by K11(not too far from Vibes lounge in The Mira Hotel) is a little hideway that reminiscences London’s East End and a little bit of Vancouver Gastown restaurants with its exposed brick walls. We came here late at night for a few drinks with my dear friend whom had moved back to Hong Kong a decade ago. The service here wasn’t terribly bad nor was it fantastic. But one thing we appreciated was not to be rushed. We didn’t feel that cold stares on our backs if we didn’t down our beverage soon enough. Brunch over eggs benedict w/parma ham was delicious. But at 1 am, a glass of Riesling, Shiraz or mean Pilsner(and than some) was just what we need to stay nocturnal.

This restaurant was randomly strolled upon. I know for most people, this seems like a destination restaurant but for us, we literally saw the line up and decided to give it a try. What happened was, one day, my friend and I were meeting a tourist friend. He was handling some visa stuff and wanted to meet us in TST afterwards, so we decided to head to tst for some food first. We weren’t too hungry so just started to look around to see what looks appealing. We came across this small little restaurant with a massive lineup outside. Okay, it’s not so massive but about 10 people in front of us for such a small restaurant. Since we weren’t too hungry and we had all the time in the world, we decided to give it a try. We ended up waiting for a good hour… and yep, we were starving by then. It was 2:30 by the time we sat down. Amazing! Having said that, the experience we had was quite pleasant. I was starving so forget the calorie intake, I just ordered myself a nice big breakfast. It had everything from beans, sausages, eggs of course, black pudding, the works. My friend got the eggs benny. They were both really good, a lot of food for a pretty decent price. I can understand why some people would wait in line for this. I think if we had the same thing in a restaurant in Central, it would possibly cost around $ 200-$ 300. We paid about $ 150 i think. The ambience is quite cool, urban, chill and a place where you could potentially sit with your laptop and sit all day — given there wasn’t a line up waiting for your table outside the shop. I’m not a very patient person so if by chance, I came across this restaurant with a lineup like that, I probably won’t wait. I’m not saying it’s not worth the wait, I’m just not patient enough.

I didn’t have a chance to come across this restaurant until late last year. It was a very cold day and I had scheduled to meet up a group of designers at Bricklane for a small chat It was to my surprise the area where Bricklane is situated is incredibly quiet amidst of the busy bar areas of TST. As a big fan of all day breakfast, I’m typically opinionated towards those essential dishes. Bricklane I would say is a place providing you a very friendly, urban atmosphere. Perhaps they do not make the best sausages or eggs, but you wouldn’t forget your experience there whilst servers go shuffling non-stop around your tables. My second visit was to their branch in Admiralty that the same menu would be served. With a less busy environment compared to the TST restaurant, I finally had a better taste of the pasta and such and oh my, I’ve fallen in love with the tomato angel hair! The second fav dish would definitely be the frites with sea salt. Amazing!

I have tried quite a few Egg Benedicts around Hong Kong and this place definitely serves the best Egg Benedict hands down. However, it is never easy to find a table at Bricklane. It is located at the back street of Tsim Sha Tsui and with its rather secluded location, there seem to be quite a lot of people lining up here all the time. If you are lucky enough to get a table after waiting for a while, you will soon realize how comfy this place is,(okay maybe not so much as you can see how annoyed those who are still waiting for their table while you are sitting so nicely inside). Anyway, let’s just focus on ourselves at this point. The interior décor is rather earthy and that makes people very comfortable and makes it a perfect place to chit-chat. As for the food, you MUST order the egg benedict as it is the ‘it’ food here. Once it is served, you may see how much effort they put into the presentation as well, different colors on the white plate makes your mouth rather watery by just looking at the dish. Two poached eggs with ham and spinach leaves on top of well toasted bread. It is the scene to die for already. The best part is when you pick up your knife and gently poke into the eggs, you can see the silky yolk gushing out, showing how nicely done the eggs are. The sauce was very buttery and was of the perfect thickness. I am sure the rest of the food on the menu must be quite nice as well; unfortunately I never get to order more after finish the egg benedict as it is rather filling and I simply cannot eat more. So I hope someone can review on the other dish here. But if you are looking for good egg benedict, trust me, they make the best here.
