Buskers Restaurant

My husband and I tried Buskers earlier today for the first time, for an early dinner before going to the cinema. I went for the half roast piri piri chicken with red cabbage slaw and garlic potatoes, while my husband had the Portavogie scampie and chips with dressed salad and tartare sauce. We both really enjoyed our meals, they were filling and delicious. The guy serving us was very friendly and helpful. The only negative thing I’d say is that it took a long time for our food to come, even thought the restaurant was almost empty when we were in. However, I’d eat here again as it was lovely.

Love the music, décor, atmosphere and service. Buskers Restaurant also have a small dedicated vegetarian menu which is a huge plus in my opinion.
I ordered the wild mushroom tagliatelle which came with a large portion of garlic bread. As always, I had to have wine with my food, so opted for a glass of Pinot Grigio. Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced with everything costing a total of just £12.75.
I’m going to return very, very soon and bring my friends, family and work colleagues. I’d give Buskers a higher rating than 5 stars if I could — love it.

Really great customer service here, lots of smiles and a warm atmosphere. Some equally warm and friendly dishes.

My friend had spotted work being done inside Buskers for a few days on his way passed going to work so last Friday to line our stomachs before the football, we decided to give it a go and were not disappointed.
Upon entering the new restaurant I was immediately drawn to the stencil artwork adorning the walls, superb light fixtures and the pleasant ambience created by both the design and the staff… I may be weird but this type of thing really makes me want to come back somewhere.
We were served initially by a very pleasant and welcoming young woman, didn’t catch her name, and after perusing the lovely, yet VERY well-​priced menu, I opted for the brioche burger dressed with gherkins and salad and was of high quality and came with some chips and homemade tomato relish… And at £7, I honestly do not think there is many places in Belfast that could beat this quality for the price.
Also before ordering, the waitress asked if we wanted anything played over the speakers as they had a Spotify account (Not sure if this is regular practise but I will be back so will find out then!!!) however the pressure of looking trendy with our selection lead us to keeping on the music that was already playing, which was more than adequate (and I think maybe the Spotify playlist for «the OC» soundtrack).
My accomplice ordered tacos that looked delicious and must have been because my friend is quite small and doesn’t usually finish his food but this time his plate was demolished. We also shared an order of «spicy» chicken wings and while not up to my level of spicy, they were lovely and the blue cheese dip was incredible.
After food and due to the atmosphere and staff, we decided to stay for a few drinks and prices for these are also lower than most in town and were served in process by two more members of staff who again, could not have been more pleasant.
The front of the restaurant has also been transformed into a smoking/​drinking area with cable drums as tables, the HOTTEST heat lamps and sometimes in the evenings they get in an actual busker to play which I thought was a fantastic idea.
All-​in-​all a very pleasant place that, for us being their first real customers on their opening day, are doing something right straight off the bat… Will definitely be returning for something to eat and drink over the Christmas season.

Buskers is just around the corner from where I work so decided to have a small lunch date today, instead of the usual sandwich from Doorsteps, or wrap from Centra.
Initial impressions are good. It’s quite difficult to get a feel for a place when you’re literally the only two people eating there and it has only been 15 minutes since it opened on the day, but the décor was nice and we were moved to sit near the radiator and heater since it was a particularly miserable day.
Menu has a nice choice of options. I opted to go for the lamb burger, which came with a portion of chunky chips (the menu said skinny fries, however I was so hungry I didn’t mind) and a nice little selection of side dips.
Lamb burger itself was pretty great. Very tasty, and not a whole load of unnecessary stuff piled on top of it, so the lamb was left by itself to shine. Chips were nice, dips were nice.
Service was very quick, waitress was polite and welcoming (there still seems to be a few teething problems with it being so recently opened) and there was enough time to get out for lunch and get back to work on time.
I’d definitely be up for going back when it’s a bit busier, just to see what it’s like when there’s a more vibrant atmosphere. A very good option if you’re looking for something a bit more upmarket for lunch in the Botanic area.

Cool, classy and creative, Buskers is a welcome addition to the Belfast restaurant scene. Yesterday we popped in for lunch and a few drinks after I had noticed the new façade being erected earlier in the week. When we walked in we were greeted by the charming waiting staff who immediately sat us and apologised as they were still unpacking boxes. This didn’t bother us at all! One other nice touch is that they asked us what music we would like to listen to whilst eating lunch. I’m not sure if this is a usual thing they do, but if it is, it’s an excellent idea and fits in with the musical theme in the décor.
As mentioned the décor is musical themed, with murals of famous musicians on the wall and instruments decorating every nook and cranny.
The menu was great, a real mix of traditional pub grub with a modern twist. I went for Tacos and my pal went for a burger. We also went for spiced chicken wings to share. The tacos were incredible. Portions were large and all the food was flavoursome — try the blue cheese dip, it was out of this world.
Price wise it was excellent. The mains were £7 and £8 and the starter was £4. So lunch along with a side was under £20. It’s tough to get that sort of value these days. The whole atmosphere was fantastic. We went in for a spot of lunch and ended up staying until after 6pm. The staff were attentive and friendly making us feel extremely welcome from the moment the door swung open.
Another thing that I liked was the the busker brought in to entertain smokers in the beer garden. It’s the little things in life that you notice and Buskers seem to have paid special attention to all the finer details of the restaurant and if they continue on in this vein they are sure to be a success.
