Food was nice the last time I ate here. The service is good to, though you need to come with a huge wallet I think, as the food and drink are pricey enough.

SOS — save our square. Ten square has recently gone into administration and needs your help to remain. Here’s why you should: 1. The cocktails 2. The food 3. The actual hotel 4. The price The is one of my favourite places for a long lunch when I have the time to sit in somewhere instead of grabbing a sandwich. Being a creature of habit I get the chicken penne pasta, but if you are more adventurous than me the jerk chicken wrap or steak ciabatta are front runners for most people. Whilst the lunch menu provides smaller options at a very decent price, the extensive dinner menu has everything you could want from a steak house. Big portions, cooked to your taste — perfect. My friends stayed here previously and are still raving about how nice it is, I will be recommending for any visitors I have(if they fancy something posher than my sofa). Come on guys — don’t let this place die.

Back from the Giant Causeway, our guide recommended this restaurant for us. We ordered T-bone, prawn cocktail, pasta, and champ there. Every dish was just incredible: we were all satisfied with the dishes there. By the way, this restaurant was on 2014 Michelin guide, however the price there was not super expensive.

I always vist Ten Square for lunch when on a day trip to Belfast. Their club sandwich is really tasty — and you’ve got to have a side portion of their chunky chips. They’re twice fried or something but are simply delicious. I’ve also been here for nights out in the bar also. Service is quick and they’ve a nice cocktail menu if that’s your thing. I’ve checked out their rooms online too for possible future stay. Priced a bit higher than other local reliables, but if the pictures are anything to go by then it’s worth the extra few quid.

I don’t normally appreciate or like lavishly decorated places, but this place makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. The staff are über friendly, and the rooms are clean and well kitted out. The rooms remind me of how a lot of Spanish hotels are kitted out, and the bath is massive, always a plus for me — great for the tall types. The food though is not Spanish at all. The food was good, but I think the emphasis is on steak. If anything I thought the food was too expensive, and I had one of the cheapest on the menu. Still, the place was packed and buzzing with chatter. If they can virtually fill the restaurant on a Monday night, I cant see them lowering their prices — I certainly would’nt! All in all, not bad. Will I return — maybe. Parking about 5 mins walk away.

I’d kind’ve avoided eating in this place for a few years now. Mostly due to mediocre experiences in the adjoining bar and the testimonials from a few friends who’d visited. The impression I’d built up was of the restaurant being overpriced and more than a tad pretentions. Tagging along on a communal birthday night out I was initially horrified when I learnt this is where we’d both be drinking and dining. It was time to bite the bullet! After a drink or two in the bar I was in a much more forgiving mood when we were seated. The dining room was comfortable and smart yet laidback enough that we didn’t feel our rowdiness was disturbing the other diners. Everyone else seemed to be going for the steaks but I went for the slightly more budget burgers of which the Stilton burger was a real treat. I do think there are better ‘cool’ places in town which are a bit more reasonable priced but I must admit despite initial reservations I did enjoy both the meal and the night. Pros: Great steaks and burgers Cons: Pricey and some of the clientele can wind you up.

The Grill Room is the restaurant in Ten Square, which is a boutique hotel right in the middle of Beautiful Belfast, adjacent to City Hall. What in the name of all things sacred does ’boutique’ mean in regards to a hotel? Tiny? Microscopic and pretty? Surely it’s not really the best way to describe your business, especially a bloody hotel of this size. Anyway, it would seem to be a theme of mine to review hotel restaurants and bars, and not the rooms themselves. I haven’t stayed here. I have eaten or drank here a number of times though. To be honest, The Grill Room kind of puzzles me. It’s always bunged full of people, even though the menu consists almost entirely of burgers and steaks, plus the one or two obligatory vegetarian and fish dishes. It’s quite dull, imagination-wise, unlike the restaurant décor which is rather ornate. But it’s always an easy, risk-free option if all you can think about is steak. I’d also like to report that I haven’t been able to recreate their awesome béarnaise at home to the same standard.

I’ve been to this city centre bar on a few occasions. It’s a good bar with a nice atmosphere, though I can’t say much more about it. I don’t love it but it could be much worse. Why does it keep changing its name? Is it just me? Can they not decide flip sake! Admittedly now it is good for the after work Friday town crowd, though inevitably this means it can be very busy at times. To be fair that’s only to be expected from a city centre bar. The food is nice, nothing spectacular and the service can be a little slow at times. I’m not raving about this bar so it’s only 3* from me as there are many more amazing restaurants around town that deserve their worth and merit. Could do worse though, it does seem to be a very ‘trendy’ place to be.

Ten Square is in a totally perfect location in the City Centre, but it’s not somewhere I would really frequent. When it first opened, it was very exclusive and quite expensive, but as time has worn on, it’s become a bit more accessible and less expensive. I’ve only been in a few times, but it didn’t really do it for me. That said, it’s ideal for post-work drinks on a Friday, and that’s when it seems to be busiest to me.

I love this place! Ten Suare and the Grill Room are fantasic for a really good meal! I had never actually heard of the place untill I got given a voucher by a friend and so my partner and I decided to try it out one saturday. The place itself really is beautiful! Its been really well designed and is luxurious and classy! You almost feel under dressed for the occassion but the staff and atmosphere of the place couldn’t be better! I ordered the cod and chips which actually came on newspaper! I thought this was a great touch and somehow made it taste all the better! The fish was divine and the batter perfect! The prices were slightly higher than normal but most certainly worht it for the great food and fab staff! We stayed on for afew drinks and really absorbed the stmosphere of the place and I must say I will cetainly be back again!

Forgive me for having never heard of this place before. I was aware it existed but the name and purpose of such a place were totally unknown to me. That is until very recently whereby myself and my girlfriend popped in for a spot of lunch in what was a hectic day of walking and not drinking. We went during lunch time and it was strangely quiet. I had myself some thai noodles which were really good and incredibly filling for what was only supposed to me a brief meal in a busy day of shopping. The staff were lovely as you would expect when you are the only people in the place. The food was brought out to us and was piping hot and very tasty. Though nearly £30 for two people, it was still worth it. They also have an offer on whereby when you buy a pint of tennants you get a voucher and for every five vouchers, you get some free food. That is excellent(if it is on in other places I apologise as this is the oly place I have seen it). To me it seems less like an offer and more like a challenge. Some reviews seem to complain about the weekends being busy. I cannot vouch for that but if you want a magnificent spot of lunch right in the heart of the city centre and don’t mind paying a little bit extra, this is definately worth it

Unlike some most of the other reviewers I was in Ten Square midweek. It was not nearly as manic as they are suggesting the weekends are. We ate in the Grill and had unsophisticated Steak with mash and chips. It was absolutely fabulous! The steak was probably one of the best I have tasted and the staff were not only very professional but fantastic fun too. Afterwards repaired to the bar for a few quiet drinks. Very comfortable with a great view out onto the street. then off to bed upstairs in the hotel. All rooms are individual and boutique style. All in all I would reckon one of the best places to stay in Belfast.

Another one of Belfast’s high quality restaurants. In a very central location(right behind the City Hall), the Grill Room is situated on the ground floor of this increasingly popular hotel. The Grill Room is a metropolitan restaurant(in keeping with the overall theme of the hotel), nicely laid out, with thought given to accommodating large groups as well as couples. not that it would be the most tranquil setting for a couple looking for an intimate and secluded setting for an evening meal, but the background music is at a nice level and allows for a conversational mood: ideal, I’d imagine, for a couple on their first date — you know the type were you can comfortably converse and hear anyone at your table, but you aren’t in such a quiet setting that you feel the need to whisper for fear of others overhearing your conversation, as your conversation will be drowned out by the background music, if not by the chatter of all the other tables. The food and service are both excellent. I started with the«Baby-back» ribs and they were outstanding — the tender meat just peeled off the bone, and there was plenty of it. The sauce which accompanied it was some type of barbecue concoction and was delicious. I was in the mood for Fish and Chips, which came humorously packaged in newspaper(the way chippies used to do it), and it was a great meal. I actually wished I’d been in the mood for something a bit more exotic, as all the food looked delicious. All around the table all I could see was satisfied diners and empty plates. The staff were very attentive(as I’d be if I was getting 10% of a ten-person bill) and were more than happy to accommodate the requirements of some of the fussier eaters. Great food and great service. Starters, around £6, Main courses, around £11−12(burgers are less, steaks can go up to £22!).

Nearly a whole year ago, did I first discover the delight that is Ten Square’s Grill Room and Bar. This one certainly gets five stars from me! My 21st birthday was imminent, and I required an upmarket, fashionably chic eatery for myself and 9 friends. An easy task you may think, but slightly more daunting than I had initially realised. I didn’t want an expensive restaurant, nor did I want a McDonald’s-esque diner. It had to be accessible, with the likelihood of entertainment, as well as somewhere just a bit different. Easy woman to please, eh? Having heard rave reviews, I settled on Ten Square’s Grill Room, and headed out with the girlies for what was to be a brilliant night out. The food was fabulous, the waitress was the most wonderful server I have ever had, their was a DJ playing from 10pm to midnight, and surroundings were just exquisite. Not one word of complaint from me or my friends what-so-ever. The bar is situated right beside the grill room, and our table was smack bang in the middle of the two, which worked excellently for my friends and I, enabling us to boogie on down til the early hours. This may not suit some people, but for me, it was perfect. I could not have asked for a better 21st birthday do.

We ate in the Grill Room for our work night out, and really all enjoyed it from what I could tell. It’s a stylish place, with lots of city-hall types swishing about, looking important. We were seated at a long banquette with chairs on the other side, and there were about 18 of us. The vibe inside was very hip and cool, with trendy types at the bar, but it was full of verve and noise, very buzzing indeed, great music — just loud enough to enhance the atmosphere, although it did get quit loud later on. I ordered the ribs, and Lord, they were gorgeous. I’m not a pretty sight eating ribs, well — no-one is, but I didn’t care because whatever sauce they used on them was simply amazing and they were meaty too, not slim pickings and bits of fat like some ribs I’ve had elsewhere. The food was all served at the same time, which I know can be hit and miss if you’re with a big group — but no-one had any complaints. We also managed to blag some free cocktails from a friendly waitress — they were really lovely. I would go here again.

I went to the Grill Room in Ten Square for a birthday night out with a group of friends and in hindsight it wasn’t the best choice for a large group. The music was so loud that you could only have a conversation with the person next to you and no-one any further away. bad news for my poor chum next to me as I had had a difference of opinion with the husband just before I went out. When I go out for a meal, I like a happy medium between deathly silence and night club volume music. I believe it’s called background music. Ten Square take note. Also the toilets were at the back of the bar next door so each trip involved fighting through the increasingly drunken crowd. The night was saved to some extent by the food which was served by a waiter who was lovely despite being rushed off his feet. It’s hard to pin point exactly what type of food they serve in Ten Square. Sort of upmarket steak house with some fish and salads thrown in. I had Bang Bang Chicken to start which seems to be on every menu in Belfast this year. This one was good with a really peanutty sauce. To follow I had scampi — an unusual choice for me that turned out to be a good one. It had a real homemade flavour to it, even the tartare sauce. After that lot, a desert was a step too far and I stuck to more wine. The room was so busy it was hard to see the décor but I think it was all about the terracotta walls and potted plants.

The hotel is a standard, boutique-type venue but is simply doesn’t feel as well polished or special as Malmaison, which is a very similar type of hotel nearby. As for the bar — one of the worst I have ever visited. Last time I visited I waited for a very, very long time with a handful of other customers at the bar while an army of bar staff ran around like headless chickens. I was served vodka in a warm glass with no ice(they ran out), paid a fortune for it and then found that the toilets were closed as they had flooded. The place can also become too crowded and attract a very self-conscious type of ‘yuppie’(or wannabe yuppie!) type customers. Overall, not a relaxing or pleasant atmosphere to be be in, depending on your tastes.

Boutique hotel. Nice venue for wedding dos and other events. Food always good. Parking is a nightmare but there are public car parks not too far away. Very handy to the centre of town and Waterfont Hall, River Lagan, Victoria Square are all nearby. Area around hotel is fine but you need to be careful The staff are all very nice and helpful and would contribute towards an enjoyable stay here. Recommended

Delightful boutique hotel in the city centre. Th rooms are plush, service very professional and friendly. I liked the bar and the Long Island Iced Tea is to die for! I found the bar a little bit dark, but very well decorated. It was always busy and hard to get a seat.
