I’ve been a regular for ages, quite a small place not lots of tables, but great affordable food & none of that MSG rubbish some places use.

Mandarin Palace is a Chinese restaurant in Bromley, Kent. It is possible to get here from London Bridge in about 25 minutes, but generally would assume for locals only… Mandarin Palace is not the only Chinese restaurant in Bromley,(Ginny’s also exists among others). It is reasonably small, but not cramped and staffed well with polite servers. I’ve been to Mandarin Palace perhaps four times with different people ranging from my significant other who is Chinese to my parents. We’re generally always satisfied but compared to many more central Chinese restaurants or my significant other’s cooking it’s a little bit of a letdown. The main issues are: — Quality of ingrediants. Not that much in the way of taste or texture in many of the meats. — Range of the menu. Generally slightly ‘Westernised’ there are not many serious options for authentic Chinese food. Although called Mandarin palace it does feel more Southern. — Generally sometimes Oily food. Having said the above negatives however, it does have things going for it. As well as the polite staff, it’s also reasonably priced for the quality and is accessible. We probably won’t be coming back for a while, but when we do hopefully a few changes to the menu, it’d be great if they did some more soups, dumplings and fresher vegetable.
