This is in town centre of Bury. a minute walk from the tram station. Staff was very friendly and it’s cheap for drinks. Lots of special offers on drinks. food looks ok but did not eat this time.

I was in there 7−20pm Saturday for a pint, £2−05 is good these days 2014. Yates Bury has allways been solid, safe, friendly. All-ready lively as-though a 10pm pub; some woman sang a few lines of ‘Celia I’m down on my knees’, some guys using their apps relaxed. The bimbo-parade railings to the stairs have been boarded :(and the lads table next to it gone with some soft toy machine and display. Some woman posed near with her undersized corset for her top but nothing fell out somehow. Police escorted some guy out of the place with no fuss, I don’t know why and blink and you would miss the whole deal. The toilets. Is is me or is it normal for a guy to jump off the sinks? Unfazed, the toilets look modern and class; except in the urinal corner where a board is impossibly broken upwards and in need of repair/replacement. Great social vibe. My favorite bar in Bury.

Awh Bless, I think James hit this Yates in the throws of a Friday night, probably around 11ish when all the colleges converge for a right royal flesh fest! And then, it’s all the things he says it is, in addition to groping hands and a faint whiff of vomit you can’t quite locate, also, and i did witness this, a group of lads hanging around the staircase and whooping with merriment everytime a group of belt-skirt girls went up and down said stairs to use the facilities. By night it’s a vile feeding ground for young sexually charged groups of people to get gross. HOWEVER, we can’t just write it off completely, by day I’ve had a fair few mediocre bog standard pub lunches on a budget with friends in here, it is after all a Yate’s chain and you can feel safe in dining at a certain standard. All the rowdy hath gone to recover in their beds and you can hear yourself speak to one another in a civil manner. This Yate’s is pretty bloody huge too, and if you time it right, you can get in for a good glass of wine and atmosphere before the school bell rings. It’s alright, depends when you go and when you leave.

The fulcrum of all evil, the epicentre of rot, the nucleus of mundanity(and the reason for inventing the word!), the pioneer of nothingness, the reason we fear the dark.

Yates is a well known chain of pub’s with grub and this branch is located centrally to Bury’s shopping area and also amongst the various other pubs etc making it an ideal meet up place to embark on a pub crawl or pre-clubbing. Many Yates are pretty generic once inside and this is no exception. I’m quite ambivalent to it or perhaps leaning towards indifference as it’s neither good nor bad it’s just relatively okay. Inside it’s quite tatty in places and the lack of lighting makes it feel a little squalid at times. The food and drink prices are highly competitive with many promotions to save you even more money and the food itself is quite nice. They have a well stocked bar with pretty much a bit of everything behind it and the staff are pleasant although a little slow at times.
