This place has the best Pizza in the entire United Kingdom. The service is great, and who doesn’t love St. David’s Way?

Food was of the ordinary of Pizza Express, fast service even though it was particularly busy which was great! The server was lovely although you can tell he was just trying to get us to buy more food and drink in the restaurant which I really did not like. I ordered a plain margarita pizza and asked for extra goats cheese which they were happy to do and I got a lot of it which was great as normally they are very rational with that! Other than some parts of the service, for a chain restaurant, it was all very pleasing!

I feel like I have to review this restaurant because it was one of the best experiences I had in a restaurant. This was the first time I had ever been to a Pizza Express and I had heard nothing but good things so naturally I booked a table for my birthday and went there with some family. I was impressed with the look and atmosphere of the restaurant and the friendly service from our waiter. I was always curious about trying this restaurant out and thought it would be great to book it for a birthday celebration, Thankfully the restaurant took the booking no problem. With some other Pizza Express restaurants they only allow a certain number when booking but this one didn’t have a problem with that. Luckily I had 2 vouchers that were buy one get one for £1 so the night ended up cheaper than expected. Our waiter was such a nice guy that he over heard it was my birthday and put a candle in my cheesecake that I had for dessert. To top it all off the entire restaurant sang happy birthday to me. That was quite a surreal experience. The Pizza Express is in St Davids 2 is an excellent restaurant filled with delightful waiters/waitresses and delivers an amazing quality of food. I will definitely be visiting there once again!

This is the newest Pizza Express in Cardiff and I’d say it is the 2nd best in terms of location and feel(the bay takes a lot of beating) but in terms of cleanliness, light and airyness(is that a word — judging by the spell check I’d say no but it is now) this is top of the pops. THe food is also good and I know this sounds odd but not all of them are the same. They may use the same ingredients and use the same oven equipment but the human factor counts for a lot and the chef they employ in the high street doesn’t’ seem as good. So if its a choice between this high street branch and this then choose this one.

I love Pizza Express but I really hate this restaurant. What i love about most Pizza Express is that there’s a really good atmosphere to accompany the good service and good food, but this one just lacks all charm. Its probably quite difficult to make a brand new unit in a very modern shopping center have character, but its just too bright and canteen feelish for me, not to mention we were stuck right at the bottom of the stairs and had people constantly passing. Service was OK although the person seating us wasn’t very welcoming or warm, the food was as great as ever and quick but its just not for me sorry.

As mentioned somewhere before, I am a big fan of Pizza Express. Especially on wednesdays. The 2 for 1 voucher makes a place that feels upmarket, the cheapest place to go for food. The fresh ingredients here always pleases my taste-buds and have always been served by greatly helpful staff. It’s the little touches such as getting your coat taking before sitting down or the marble tables that really elevate this pizza place. The presentation all round from food to the toilets seems well thought out and gives the chain a personal feel to each restaurant. The only slight shame is it’s location really. Unlike the beautiful Cardiff Bay branch, this over looks the mall. I couldn’t help but feel it was a bit like tea time at the monkey pen when McLovely and I were seated near the front.
