Really good quality, with really fast service and low prices which allows you to have a quick meal without spend so much money and time. Is a good chinesse option when you are in the west end!

Now, any time I have ordered a meal here I ask myself why I ever go to another Chinese take away, and the only reason I can think off is that Chow is not the cheapest. It’s not hugely expensive, but you do pay for the quality. And quality is what you get. My most recent order was made via Just Eat, and as its walking distance from me I opted for collection, which was an estimated 20 minutes. I went up at about 15 minutes after and when I said I had ordered online the hostess lady called me by name and said it would be right with me. Good play there hostess lady! Personalised service experience noted. This time I had the mussels in black bean sauce starter(mouth-wateringly juicy) and some beef noodle soup. I’m far too lazy and hungry to look back on the menu for the name of said dish, but, as as previous, the main did me 2 days. Last time it was the salt and pepper squid I gratefully took to work for next day’s lunch! All in all this is a glorious little eatery, which I have yet to dine IN, but I would highly recommend ordering from and enjoying with a wee beer or vino.

Keep the Water coming mate… A Sunday evening«gwai lo» style Cantonese meal is a bit old school in this world of dumplings, yum cha and Szechuan, but we just took the fancy for some ‘retro’ dining. Getting right to it we ordered a special chow mein and a not so «gwai lo» Szechuan tofu. Service was ultra quick and friendly, but to be honest even through all that goodwill the overriding sensation I’ll take away from Chow is thirst. IMHO or is it IMAO, or even IMFAO? Anyway, whatever it is there was too much salt in both dishes. I like my salt, but this was too much for even my robust Scottish palate. I’m not sure if the food’s always as briny this, but other diners didn’t seem to have a problem. I even plucked up the courage to mention it to the waiter and he made that nervous laugh as if to say«that’s nice, but why are you telling me?» I don’t know if he relayed it back to the chef :-/

Decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants while out and about and we couldn’t wait to get our food on so dropped in bang on the doors opening :). It was only us in the entire place which was very strange but good as it can get a little squashy. Amazing food as always and tentative service. Love this place.

Oooooooooh! This place is goooood!!! First time here but certainly not the last. I’m a massive fan of Chinese cuisine but to find a good one is rare, this place certainly didn’t disappoint. The restaurant itself is compact with not much room but still very comfortable. The menu is reasonably priced and the quality was excellent. Been a long time since I’ve had chinese to this standard. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t have been more helpful so a big thumbs up to these guys. Without doubt, this is gonna be a regular haunt from now on.

Always good quality and prices are not expensive. Small place so would recommend booking if going on the weekend.

«Sorry.» That’s it. A measly apology. For spilling a bottle of beer on my new suit. I appreciated it was an accident, but there was a distinct lack of sincerity with the response, so much so it could almost have been accompanied by a shrug of the shoulders. And it’s a great pity, because the food in Chow is superb. Situated in a tiny unit on Byres Road, the Chinese restaurant makes use of every inch of space to cram in as many people as possible, both on the bottom floor and the small mezzanine level. The reasonably priced menu is extensive but I’m afraid my stubbornness when it comes to the ordering of Chinese foods means I’m only in a position to recommend my old faithfuls, hot and sour soup and chicken chow mein, both of which are excellent in here. In actual fact, this could almost have been a five star review but there’s no getting away from the abruptness of some staff members, which I find to be an all too common occurrence. I really shouldn’t come back, but unfortunately the food is just too damn good.

Chow is slightly different from other chinese restaurants — the décor appearing more like a modern, jazzy bar or restaurant rather than traditionally chinese which is nicely refreshing. The food is absolutely delicious and such good value for money. If I lived nearby, however, I would be tempted to miss out on that lovely ambience and décor for a take-away instead as, y’see, this place is very much on the small side. We were sat upstairs and I almost felt I should join in with the conversation of those at our neighbouring table since we were almost on their knees. Plus it can be difficult to relax when there is a queue of hungry people waiting patiently for you to finish your dinner and vacate your table. If you can find a quiet spell though then this place is top notch.

One of my favourite Chinese restaurant — the staff in Chow can’t wait to help you! At times it does feel extremely cramped as it is a bit tiny, but, on the plus side, when you know it’s busy, it must serve good food, which is 100% true. Personally, I enjoy Chinese food, and this place is no exception(the ribs here are delicious), apart from the fact that my wallet isn’t empty after I’ve been(waaay!)(also, it lacks those freaky waving cats, and other chinese-style accessories… eeep). Large portions for small prices, it’s definately worth a trip. Sit in. Or take out. Or get a delivery. ‘Chow’ down!!! (That was possibly the worst pun ever. Apologies).

Really nice little restaurant on Byres Road. Hellish for parking mind you but so is everywhere on Byres Road. It is so tiny but you dont feel like the other tables are on top of you. There is an upstairs and downstairs, good atmosphere, great service. There is always someone ready to help you so you are not trying to catch someones eye every time they pass and ignore you. Dont worry about the waiters standing over you though — they are very discreet and professional. It is a bit pricey for chinese food, but the quality is excellent and you will have a great meal.

Great for takeaway or sit in, fairly small though, so book if you plan to visit. A bit on the pricey side, but the service is top class
