It’s been a while since I have been to the Curry Pot and I always seem to miss them out when craving some Indian Food. We all no Glasgow isn’t short of a curry house or two which makes it a tough marketplace to compete in and even harder for those trying to choose where to dine or takeaway. My latest visit was due to the fact I wasn’t feeling like either Dumpling Monkey or Toni 2 Go where my Co diners decided to venture for takeaway. So Curry Pot it was and I don’t regret it. I went for the meal for one option which has popaddoms spiced onions one starter and one main with rice or nan for £9.95. I am no vegetarian however I crave Saag Paneer on a regular basis so plumped for that as my main. My keen eye spotted the special paneer pakora so double paneer was on the cards for sure. On arriving home I was absolutely delighted with the special paneer pakora it was fried with a lovely spice rub just talking about it now is making my stomach rumble. Onto the Saag and it too was lovely a nice rich taste from the spinach and as per the starter the paneer was filling and soft. The rice was fluffy and light but not the standard yellow pillow you would expect from most takeaways. I wouldn’t probably sit in as the place is small and a little bit cold because of the regular opening of doors for takeaways. I will be back again.

This is a great curry shop for a takeaway, one of the best in the area. The curries are very good quality, sauces all fresh and flavoursome. The quality of meat is very high as well, and the tandoori chicken is to die for. Only downsides are it’s not an ideal sit in venue, very small for seating, more of a takeaway place. Also the last couple of times I’ve been in, I’ve noticed the portion sizes have decreased a bit. Barring this, it’s a very tasty curry, and one of the best in the area.

This Indian is hands down one of the best places for curry in Glasgow. I have been eating here since it opened. The owner is very nice and the staff are always pleasant.

The chicken curry and the lamb are delicious, I couldn’t stop eating until I scraped every last bit of curry from the pot. The lunch promo is a great, great prize/portion ratio. The staff is really friendly and attentive, even when they’re about to close on midnight on a Saturday. I will definitely be going back.

Food is generally good but the portion sizes have dramatically decreased. Ordering anything«large» will probably not fill you up. Shame, because it is a good wee place. Phone ahead as it can take a while but worth it for the food just not the amount.

One of the things I’ve noticed about Glasgow is there’s no lack of Indian takeaways. Very few end up standing out as being particularly special or fresh, but Curry Pot is an exception. While I’ve not tried nearly as much on their menu as I’d like, Curry Pot is my favourite Indian takeaway in the area. The food is fresh. They brag about not using the same premade things as other places and I believe it. The meal prices are generally good but what I’m most impressed by is the £3.95 lunch special. It’s enough food to feel full without also feeling like I’ve binged. The £1 extra for the pakora is worth it, if only because the chicken pakora is brilliant. My only regret with the lunch is that the hours of 12 – 2:30 inevitably leaving me wanting a late lunch at 3. For those not going for lunch they also have a 10% student discount. And if you want to completely skip Indian food for some reason and get pizza, that also seems to be above average(and it’s square!).

Love love love this place! They do the most amazing chicken kebabs, not greasy or fatty at all and served with a lovely, fresh salad in pitta bread. I think I might actually be addicted to them. The curries are equally as good and non-greasy as well as super tasty. The chicken is always cooked beautifully too, nothing worse than badly cooked chicken. We ordered their pizzas once, they do an awesome one with curried spinach, chickpeas etc. Highly recommended. The delivery drivers are always really pleasant, but delivery times can vary depending on which day of the week it is. It can take a little longer at weekends but it really is worth the wait. My favourite Indian take away in the West End by far!

I love the Curry Pot! The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the price is great. Specifically, the lunch deal is amazing! For £3.95 you can get a curry or kebab(a good selection of veggie and chicken options), your choice between rice, chips, naan or noodles, and a drink. Plus you can add pakora for £1 and if you’re a student you get a 10% discount. I highly recommend the Garlic Chilli Chicken curry, Ginger and Lime Chicken, Saag Paneer and Spinach Paratha. Now here’s a little cheat I only recently discovered. They do a Garlic Chilli Chicken kebab, which is basically the curry on naan bread with an option of salad and sauce. If you only want naan with your curry go for the kebab as it works out cheaper. You won’t get as much curry as you would ordering it on it’s own, but it’s still a decent portion.

Nicely located at the cross between byres road and Dumbarton road next to the 3 judges. This relatively newly opened takeaway is doing a great job. We went in and ordered one of their meal deals to take away. All the staff were very helpful and good at giving suggestions and tips from the menu. The menu itself was interesting and full of nice but different curries. The order took around 15 – 20 mins to be prepared which is absolutely fine when you are cooking a curry. As far as the food goes it was lovely. The two of us were unable to finish the entire meal and sides and it was a great price too. I thoroughly recommend giving them a go if you are in the neighbourhood. They offer a lunchtime menu deal and also offer delivery in the evenings so you have no excuse not to give them a go.

Fairly recently opened at Partick Cross down the bottom of Byres Road and I like it! This is partly because it’s only 20 yards from my front door but mainly due to the tasty, tasty food. Look at the menu and you’ll see they don’t serve anything you won’t recognise from loads of other places but the difference is that they do it better than most. The meat is tender and succulent, the sauces flavoursome and fragrant and it’s all served up with a genuine, welcoming smile. You can sit in or takeaway. My latest takeaway took 15mins to be cooked from fresh so it’s not lightning fast but it’s worth the wait. The pakora is just beaten by Banana Leaf’s impossibly melt-in-your-mouth offerings but try the house«classic» chicken curry or the garlic chilli chicken and you won’t regret it. I’ve gone Curry Potty!
