Are you hungry? Do you like Chicken? NANDOS! First, second, and third visits to Nandos were all at this St Enoch Centre location, quickly seated each time with only a ten minute wait on the second occasion. The chicken is great and upon asking the Ingredients of the marinades(allergic to Mayo) I was promptly presented with the entire allergens book which listed all ingredients for each different type of sauce and marinade. upon discovering which I could eat(almost all) I chose lemon and herb(and have done on each subsequent visit) which was absolutely brilliant, i am not one for overly spicy foods so this was great. The chips, both plain and peri-peri and good accompaniments along with the corn and garlic bread. Recommendations are for the boneless chicken thighs, the dark meat is my favourite so this is always a winner for me.

So Nando’s! It seems to be a fad that has never gone away. I don’t understand stand it. Is it fast food? You order your food at the counter but it gets brought to your table? Self service drinks? Get your own cutlery! What are you trying to be! I’m not mad about chicken I really could take it or leave it but when the majority of the food on the menu is chicken(not done in an exciting way) what you gotta do! So I embraced it! A chicken wrap please and peri chip! I must admit one oft stars go to the chips. Halfway through the meal a server came over to ask of our meal was ok. I wasn’t expecting that! You can help yourself to as much sauce as you like different types hot very hot and Garlic. The place was packed with teenagers on dates and fitness freaks to scared to eat proper fast food, I’m not convinced it’s a healthy options either. One thing I would say the staff are super friendly and really eager to help but apart from that and the chips… it’s not for me!

I’m still really diggin’ this place! It’s a simple solution to being hungry and there’s something really, for everyone. My most recent trip here was with Sophie K during a much needed girls day out. We had been walking around the city centre since 10am and were in desperate need of food. Quick on my feet, I suggested Nando’s as it was within a short walking distance to where we were shopping. I was quite surprised to be seated almost immediately as this particular location is always quite busy. We were sat among the crowd of teenagers on summer holiday and miserable looking couples who spoke not a single word their whole lunch. Looking over the menu, I had the task of ordering something I’ve never ordered and at Nando’s it’s super simple to get chicken without dressing, wedges without salt and salads without dressing. I was blown away by that seeing as now days most restaurants pre make their meals before hand, or simply used packaged ingredients. Gold star for Nando’s. I ended up ordering the quarter chicken, sweet potato wedges and a side salad. The wedges came with a wee tub of mixed seeds which was a nice touch. I was happy! The staff, as always are helpful and cheerful, which makes the experience all the better Nando’s is a sure hit in my circle of friends, and we’ll be back always for sure.

Nandos has become the pizza hut of chicken. Kicking good old KFC to the curb. The chicken is nice with a good range of flavours and spices to pick along with a few chosen sides. Nandos is nice. It is what it is. There is nothing spectacular about the food or the service. It’s just nice. No complaints with that.

The wait to get in can be a bit long but they let you go away and come back which is a bonus for all us window/impulse shoppers. The food is as always great and the spice they use for the food is amazing! Todays delight spicy rice and chickpea pita with salad and refillable fanta! Gotta love the refills! The service is good and people are always friendly. The only let down can be the venue gets super hot when its packed and especially on a warm day. Well warm by Glasgow’s standards. All in all a great place for a meal or a bite after work.

Meat — good. Sides — goood. Sauces — gooood. Drinks = refills. If you like spicy food, this place is brills, although it sucks that you can’t smoke even if you’re seated outdoors. Still, I wouldn’t make a habit of eating here everyday. It’s not cheap, I mean at least by student standards.

First time in a Nandos. I had the chicken. I was pleasantly surprised with Nandos; no nonsense. Easy to understand menu, ordering system, and self serve drinks and condiments. You can also see the food being cooked right on front of you. Was delighted with my portion as was my partner, both having tried different things. Simple. The reward system looks like it actually rewards repeat custom far better(or at least quicker) than anywhere else I can think of, and if you phone up here they can get you ready to go with a takeaway. Overall, no gripes whatsoever. A premium contender for a ‘sure thing’ and somewhere I would like to go with a few friends to try their platters. Looked good!

Hype! Hype is the key phrase when talking about Nando’s. I experienced Nandos for the first time yesterday as the cliché’d ‘Nando’s Virgin’. The experience was somewhat baffling. What seems like a decent restaurant environment is interrupted by a whiff of the Weatherspoos. The fact that one must go to order was perplexing. Do Not Go in a group at Peak TImes. You will not sit together. My Group of 10 was fortunate enough that the weather was favourable, as we had to group 5 tables together and sit outside. However aside form logistical shortfalls the food actually was ok. Expensive but ok. I had a chicken breast fillet medium pitta pocket, chips and corn on cob, with a ‘bottomless’ drink for around £11. Not an everyday lunch place but nice for a treat. Here comes the logistical problem, in a large group, due to the system in place, you have to order individually or basically in pairs. With an efficient kitchen this should be no problem, but it so happened on the day we ordered the last chicken breast meal arrived a shocking 27 minutes after the first leading to awkwardness and rushed eating. Not a place for large groups. Ideal for couples or small families.

I’ve never done the whole Nando’s thing. I’ve seen people going on and on about being addicted to it, and following a host of footballers on Twitter, it seems to be ever growing in popularity. This lunch time, myself and my ever suffering girlfriend bit the bullet and went. I have to say… I don’t think I ever need to go again. The staff, it has to be said, are exempt from what may turn into a long diatribe against the blandness that is a soulless chain restaurant franchise — every person we encountered in here was perfectly pleasant, and just the right mix of helpful and cheery without being pushy. The food though… the food. I don’t know if it’s just me, but it was all a bit… bland. The chicken burgers we both had were perfectly fine, but a little bland. If it wasn’t for the sauce, you could have been mistaken for thinking it was a zinger burger, as Wendy pointed out. The tomato on her burger was discarded and described as the most tasteless tomato she’d ever had. As we all know, I don’t touch salad as it’s the tool of the Devil himself. The much vaunted peri peri chips were fine, if just some normal chips that seem to be normal, frozen chips dusted with some spicy salt. It seemed to be a pattern, that taste was a secondary concern compared to heat. Wendy’s corn on the cob side was fine and really juicy, as I was covered with corn and butter juice from across the table when she bit into it. It was like a low budget family friendly version of Something About Mary for a moment… I had garlic bread as a side, and it was… guess what? fine. Fine. A word that sums up Nando’s for me. It’s not the worst food I’ve had, but it’s nowhere near the best. There’s tons of independent local eateries you could go to in Glasgow, spend less than you do here(£22 for two lunches and two drinks?) and have something fresh, tasty and easily more filling. I don’t get the Nando’s fixation or fad. I may be the sole, dissenting voice in their never ending quest to dominate the high streets of our country — but having been here once, I think that’s enough for me. Colour me disappointed.

I have only been to this Nando’s once. I do have to admit on the weekends it is extremely busy and I had to wait 30 minutes which was annoying but as it being the centre of Glasgow what can you expect? The staff where friendly and approachable and remembered to seat us, thank god ! The food quality was superb as usual and the timing for the food for it being so busy was around 10 – 15 minutes which is still very reasonable. The butterfly chicken medium spice with 2 portions of piri piri chips was superb absolute amazing and to top it off FREEREFILLS !! I would advise them to build an extension or even to get an upstairs for more space and less waiting around. Also their waiting room was very small when lots of people are waiting and this blocks the door and gets in the way with people queuing in line at the till. Overall perfect location, Great Staff, Great Food, but small restaurant.

I always pictured Nando’s as the ‘New kid on the block’ type of grub house and while it’s nice and cozy inside the food is also immaculately plated up. Another thing about Nando’s is the price. From somewhere it’s gained this title as an «over priced, over rated» place, I’d beg to differ. For my double breasted medium chicken wrap with piripiri chips and free refills on drinks i came in at roughly £9 which for a filing meal i think is below average, Also(in this one) you tend to see a few celebs and footballers which will always lift your spirit. I like Nando’s i really do but there’s something about the place that’s a bit meh. Having to actually go up and order instead of having someone come to your table is a bit of a novelty but all the same a bit McDonalds-ish. The ques are also a bit much, you can be there AGES before even getting a seat but i suppose that’ also a testament to Nando’s and their loyal army of chicken lovers.

I really liked the food that was served here. Fantastic service and great value for money. The trademark peri-peri chicken was the best I’d ever tasted. I liked the fact that you could help yourself to different sauces and also unlimited drink refills. Nando’s is a great place to go and I would definitely recommend it to all of my friends. I had to wait for a while before going in because it was a Saturday and it was busy but it was well worth the wait. Overall — a great place to eat. Nando’s is a great place if you are going into Glasgow for a nice meal and a drink with family or with friends.

I’m not sure about this whole nandos craze just now. I’ve been a few times and it is a nice setting, in a good location in town which is decorated ok but it seems like an expensive KFC with the food looking like it has just been slopped like a school lunch on to your plate. The price is way too high for what you get. There is also not a good range of food with chicken being it really. This is not a place I could being my whole family as not everyone wants to eat chicken in a bun or a wrap or any other ingenious way of presenting what is just… spicy chicken. It is an OK restaurant but that is it, there is nothing special or delicious about what they offer.(you can get chicken burgers other places)

Yes, it may seem a tad bizarre that I’m a vegetarian and I’m about to sing the praises of Nando’s, but their veggie burgers are AMAZING. I don’t capitalise often(apart from when the rules of grammar dictate it to be necessary), but I do so here for a reason. AMAZING. AMAZING. Cheap and cheerful, but oh-so-fresh, there’s nothing to really dislike about this franchise. I do wish the St Enoch’s Centre branch was bigger(the queue is frequently out the door and the wait for a table can drive you insane when you’re ferocious with hunger but can smell the wonderous peri peri delights a-cookin’ in the kitchen!), but you don’t get everything you want in life! I recommend the perinnaise sauce(essentially spicy mayo) — I don’t know how many calories are in it, and I suspect there are a fair few, but my God it makes chips taste heavenly! I think it’s great that the soft drinks are re-fillable, especially when you’re feeling brave and go for ‘hot’ rather than ‘medium’ on your dish… my lesson hath well and truly been learned now, that’s for sure! The Nando’s card is a must — when you spend at least £7 you get a point, which you can cash in for a starter or main meal when you collect enough(3 for a starter and 6 for a main, if I’m not mistaken): great value for money. Nando’s also do a supermarket range on crisps and sauces, so you can add their magic touch to your own sub-standard food. I shouldn’t have written this review just before lunch, I’m seriously salivating now… I wonder if there’s any peri peri sauce in the cupboard…

There’s probably absolutely no need for me to be saying this, but one could not give two hooteths. It’s probably one of my favourite places to eat which, with it being a fast food chain, must mean it’s pretty damn good. I get the medium chicken wrap with cheese, chips, spicy rice and side of halloumi without fail every single time I go. Picture the scene. You’d burnt your toast for breakfast, you’ve had a crappy Micro Noodle for lunch and you’ve been sitting next to a loon on the Subway for 15 minutes. You get off at St Enoch and there it is. Sitting there queued out the door in all its chickeny goodness. Yeah, sure we’ll wait 25 minutes for a table next to the draughty door. Sure, no problem. It would be a PLEASURE to wait those short minutes for what can only be described as pure peri-peri satisfaction. Yes, I will walk up to the counter to order my own meal and I will gladly go and get my own fork and drink. I don’t care, for I am about to shove a wad of spicy, succulent once-clucking deliciousness into my gub along with a shovel of spicy rice. Then, as soon as I am finished and sitting there with a bellyful of the good stuff, I will simply waltz out the door having already pre-paid my meal. This should be completely wrong; going to order your own scran, getting everything yourself, the inability to book a table. But, it all works somehow, for me anyway, and I’m pretty sure it’s all about how good the food is that makes us wait. So Nandos, thank you. Thank you for always being there for me and helping me through some seriously hungry times.

Everyone loves a Nando’s — you just need to check out the five star run to see that! For a franchise, it’s pretty sweet. Great service, the staff are always nice, the chicken is fresh and succulent, the chips are spicy. Nando’s is the place to get piri piri on everything — your food, your clothes and your face. There is nothign better than putting your face in your plate of food and setting about the massive portion of chicken and chips you receive. But fear not if you have the appetite of a sparrow(or don’t like chicken(!)) — you can order starters which include hummous, or more beefy alternatives. There are also salad options if you’re a veggie and fancy giving the extensive meat menu a bodyswerve. If you, like me, can’t resist their chicken, then you can choose your size(¼, ½ or the full monty). It’s roughly 10 quid for a slice of chicken and two starters, which include their salty piri piri chips or garlic bread. Their drinks prices are also reasonable, and you get free refills. If you’ve never been to Nando’s(althoguh most of glasgow has by now) you are seated, you order at the till, and then help yourself to sauces. These range from mild(lemon & herb) to mega hot(for all the manly *cough* show offs out there). It’s good fun, good eats, the staff seem like they’re on the very good side of quirky, and the grub is fantastic. That’s why you’ll often see Nando’s queued out the door! Firm favourite, tell all your friends!

It’s a godsend of sorts that Nando’s is finlly moving out of retail parks and into the city centres. Contrary to what tiresome snobs who despite their pretences actually know nothing about food will tell you. it’s brilliant. Get a big plate of wings, as spicy as possible, some peri-peri fries, and just gorge until you can’t gorge anymore. At this branch you can even sit outside and watch the degenerates of St Enoch Square go by. Perfect.

I’ve heard people rave about Nando’s for ages but I’ve never been and always had the feeling that I was missing out. I definitely was and I am so glad Nando’s has launched in the St. Enoch Centre! The only other Nando’s close to me is the one at Silverburn which is pretty much impossible to reach without a car so I’m glad the new one is easily accessible. From what people had told me, I’d expected Nando’s to be like McDonalds/Burger King type place but it was kind of in between a takeaway and a restaurant. On arrival we were sat outside in the sunshine, the waitress told us how Nando’s worked and handed us a menu each. It took us ages to decide what we wanted, and how spicy we wanted our peri peri chicken to be and once we’d decided we went up to the cash desk and ordered. I like the fact that you go up to order in your own time it makes the whole experience a lot more stress free and you don’t get waiters and waitresses insisting that you have around 10 side orders with your meal. Plus, as you pay for your meal when you order you can leave whenever you want which means you can sit for a while or leave straight after eating and don’t have to hang around waiting for the bill for ages. I ordered a medium peri peri chicken breast wrap with a side of chips and spicy peas, my order came to £8.50 and for the quality of the food, I thought that was pretty reasonable. Bonus points also for free refills! For dessert I had a chocolate cheesecake and my friend went for the«Chilly Billy» ice lolly, purely because we found the name amusing. Overall, a fantastic visit to Nando’s, I’m so glad it’s finally arrived in Glasgow city centre and I for one, cannot wait to go back!

Literally opposite St Enoch Subway entrance is the first Nando’s restaurant in Glasgow city centre… and boy it’s been a long wait! If you’ve never been to Nando’s then this is your excuse! BBQ’d chicken cooked to your level of spice tolerance served with chips, mashed potato, spicy rice, corn on the cob, coleslaw etc. I’m a spice fiend and I love Nando’s! This one even has an outdoor seating area, although I haven’t yet been brave enough to sit out in the weather we’ve been having currently — will be a great place to relax, enjoy some great food and people-watch come summer. One caveat — don’t order the ratatouille, it comes in a tiny dish and tastes microwaved, definitely not worth the £3.50+ they charge for it.
