Our first time here we ordered a meat and cheese plate to take away. It was excellent and the guy working was helpful and had great recommendations. The second time we came to takeaway sandwiches-they were excellent. As soon as I finished eating the sandwich I wanted another one. We will definitely be back. Cash Only

Roscoe’s is an excellent deli and coffee shop, it’s small, but they do do deliveries and of course take away. The owner Roscoe is amicable and talkative, and seemingly perpetually happy to see you. His memory for faces seems to be photographic. As near as I can tell he is always in there and gives great advice on what you should order. I have never had a bad coffee in this establishment, my personal favorite is the latte. The sandwiches are to die for, I’ve had a few and absolutely no complaints. The prosciutto sundried tomato mozzarella is killer in multiple ways. It also destroys a hangover like a bunker bomb. The Carmel shortbreads are a must, regardless of your feelings on sweets. They are just salty enough to make a mouth watering combo with the buttery flaky shortbread. This place has it all.

I think Roscoe’s chocolate caramel shortcake has ruined me for life. The salt of the milky caramel with the richness of the chocolate, combined with the buttery crunch of the shortcake was simply delicious! I had intended to have one bite on the walk home and oops, I ate the whole thing! My commute home will now be compromised by urges to pick up one of those decadent morsels! Course number two was the Stong Italian sandwich! Who doesn’t like strong Italians? Anyway, I chose Salami for my meat and it came with Mozzarella and sunblush tomatoes! I was lucky to be there on a day they ran out of their ‘normal bread’, so I ended up with their ‘special’ Italian bread. I think it is normally an up charge; I have a feeling I will be paying for it in the future because it hit the spot! Although, I am curious what the standard bread may be? I had mine toasted and for the Strong Italian that was the way to go! The juices of the tomatoes combined with the oils from the salami and mozzarella soaked into the toasty bread, making every last bite delectable! Though I chose one of their signature sandwiches, the menu is very flexible so you can make your own delicious concoction. Oh and all sandwiches can be made as salads as well! Aside from the quality food to order, there is a nice selections of cakes, jams etc along the wall. Roscoe’s also has a small seating area if you would like to stay and eat. Honestly, the atmosphere is quite pleasant in general. As far as customer service goes, I met Roscoe’s mom, and she was a sweetheart. She also made me my amazing sandwich! I have absolutely no complaints, and I have a feeling I may become a regular!

This place was a life saver after plan A was crushed. Although there is limited seating, we were able to grab a seat on this bright yet chilly day. It’s lovely deli and has these old, really tall grocer’s shelves stacked full of pasta and gourmet food. We all had toasted ciabattas filled with mozzarella + and they were all packed with ingredients. It came with rocket sprinkled in basalmic vinegar. Flat whites were good too, in fact ma and me had 2 each!

I’ve been a couple of occasions, to see if it will have improved from the last but sadly no. Each time my order has been given to me with a fault. Ordered their ham, lettuce and tomato sandwich and each time I have said no butter, and each time I walk out they have always put it on, even after they repeated back that they wouldn’t. Not to mention they last time as well as putting butter on it when I specified not to, there were bits of cheese found in my sandwich to which I am allergic to. Points me to question as to whether they even use different knifes and chopping boards or at least wash them before using them for different ingredients? Could be seen as cross contamination. Along with that on the same day I asked for a slice of cake and they gave me a different one than what I had asked for. Service overall was very slow as well. Not impressed and I do not wish to visit there again. I don’t think the food industry is something they’re equipped for.

I drive past Roscoe’s every day and I’ve always meant to stop in so as I was out and about in Hyndland on Saturday it was the perfect opportunity for a coffee and a bite to eat. It’s a small, unassuming little place, with a bench at the window the only seats, and in the time I was in there it had a good amount of passing trade with people popping in for sandwiches, coffee, or soup of the day. Me? I opted for a latte and a chicken and avocado sandwich. I plonked myself at the bench at the window for a spot of people watching, and my coffee and sandwich soon appeared. The coffee was pretty good, not sure what the beans were(forgot to ask) but it was a nice smooth cup, but the sandwich is what pushed this to 5 stars. It was a simple affair, a light and delicate ciabatta(none of that jaw breakingly chewy stuff here!) with a thin sheen of butter, topped with super fresh green leaves, perfectly ripe avocado and moist succulent chicken. It was a simple affair, but with nowhere to hide the fact this sandwich made such an impression… OK I may be overdoing it. It was, after all, just a sandwich. However, the friendly staff, fresh ingredients and independent nature of Roscoe’s should at least be enough to make you pause as you wander past. If you were, per chance, considering a ‘foxy’ option a little further down the hill, why not ditch that overrated place and try Roscoe’s. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

I first had Roscoe’s when they catered an event I attended and I fell madly in love with their canapes and tartlets. I was next door at Hely Hair so I popped in for some lunch. I went with the Strong Italian with parma ham, sunblushed tomatoes, mozzarella and lettuce leaves– OMG it was amazing! The sandwich and can of Coke came to under £5 as well! Def a fab lunch option if you are on the go in Hyndland!
