Footasylum is a quirky shoe store situated in the heart of the city centre. It is a bustling shop which sells a good range of shoes such as Van’s, Adidas, Converse, Nike, Lacoste, Fred Perry and Reebok. The store is always really busy and the staff are constantly rushing round helping customers. They are always very apologetic if you have to wait for help and they are very friendly and helpful. As most of the items sold here are designer labels, they aren’t cheap, but they re still quite reasonable. This is a cool little shop.

Footaslyum is an edgy store situated on Bold Street. Offering an array of footwear, which is arranged on the walls and on a stand in the middle of the store. There’s somewhere to sit to try on but it can get a bit hectic when the retailer is busy! Not exactly the most relaxing environment. With a huge array of Vans, and Adidas as well as other footwear goodies, Footasylum is a popular venue for shoe fanatics. They also stock some t-shirts which are pretty cool and trendy. I’m not a massive fan as it seems aimed primarily at men. But it’s a nicely arranged store with a hip aesthetic.

This Footasylum branch is located in Bold Street, which makes it a popular and convenient place to come for students, especially for those with an eye for trendy fashion and high street brands such as Adidas(most noticeably at this shop). Although the shop is fairly small in size, they do offer a wide range of trainers, sports wear and summer clothing. I did find the place quite crammed and had to try avoiding bumping into people. The background music was also a bit loud which means you have to talk louder than usual to communicate with others(that is if you don’t already have a loud voice)! Don’t expect prices to be cheap here. Everything is at least above £10 from a glance(including cotton t-shirts). I guess it’s all about logos.

There are so many branches of Footasylum in Liverpool — between the two in either branch of Drome and this one on Bold Street — it’s a wonder that not everyone is walking around the city centre in limited edition Adidas Gazelles and Air Force Ones. If you want sweet kicks in a great shopping environment then I can’t speak more highly of this branch of Footasylum. Whether you after some nautical style(with their decent range of espadrilles and boat shoes) or some retro track-and-field chic(with their sambas and court stars) then you’ll find something worth picking up here. The staff are very helpful — there was no problem with me changing my mind over sizes twice here, which was phenomenal given that I had managed to really annoy myself. If there is a downside it’s that the shoes are a little on the pricey side, but it is cheaper here than at Size and I can attest, as my Vans I bought here have lasted eight months without any huge visible damage, that the quality here is high. Nice.
