When Gamestation first opened it was the place to go to find that elusive game or to trade in that game you had got bored off. However it has steadily turned into a game shop like all of the other main street stores as it has now grown into a large chain. So this branch like all the others is no longer the gem it used to be, it is simply a dimly lit claustrophobic mess, with shelves packed high with the latest releases at prices similar to everywhere else. Avoid this Gamestation and shop online for your gaming fix.

Years ago, I trawled through my bedroom to find dozens of Xbox and Playstation games that I hadn’t played for ages so I tried to find a way to get rid of them to clear some space. Question was what to do with them and then one day I discovered Gamestation realising that I could actually trade in my unwanted games for cash or exchange. Obviously this had become useful for me and I had some return of cash for my games(not much as my games were on the brink of being dated) but they were still in good condition and able to trade-in. I even traded in my consoles as well and was glad to know all my items could be resold at the store therefore I knew my items were not going to waste or be recycled. Ever since then, I’ve considered Gamestation a hub for any future trade-ins I might have. Its a great place if you have an addiction with video gaming otherwise it is your average game shop.

Video games aren’t just for kids or sweaty, pimply faced men with bowling ball guts and nacho cheese-scented underarm odour anymore. Not that you would know it from walking into Gamestation. The scrawly signage and poor lighting don’t give it the openness of a branch of Game and in the case of this particular narrow shop there is the feeling that you are being towered over by games and peripherals that you neither understand nor want to understand. There is a purpose to be served here, for the serious gamer this is probably where you want to go — my friends who are that way inclined have told me you get the best trade-in deals here and can often pick up games which might have fallen through the cracks at Game or HMV. For the rest of us — the casuals going in to pick up the latest copy of Pro Evolution Soccer or even the non-gamers picking out a present for their sweaty palmed relatives or friends — Gamestation is a frankly scary prospect.
