I’d heard positive reports about Gusto from friends, and so was keen to give this place a go. The Albert Dock location is a big plus for me — traffic-free, always nice to enjoy a walk by the River Mersey, and plenty of free museums and galleries near at hand to checkout with free activities for the kids. We managed to catch a free performance of a Lion Dance for Chinese New Year, which was good, although the warm-up outside the Maritime Museum worked better for us than the performance proper in the gallery upstairs, due to better sightlines. Also, the accompanying drums are a bit like bagpipes — best enjoyed outdoors, in my opinion! This is a big restaurant, but it still feels classy yet not intimidating with the space being broken up into different zones with different types of seating. My mum, sister and niece shared a margherita pizza and two portions of fries — staff had no problems with that and supplied as many extra plates as we needed. I had a caprini pizza to myself and really enjoyed it. The various toppings — goat’s cheese, mozzarella, roast pepper, caramelized red onions, rocket — were all there in good quantity and quality and kept it interesting. Of the Albert Dock food outlets, Gusto seems the most plausible to me. This is not me speaking from direct experience of the other offerings, just that there are a lot of style bars and heavily themed places which makes me wonder if they would match a straight-forward Italian restaurant on the food front. I would definitely return, and would also look to Gusto as a safe bet when in Southport, Manchester, Glasgow etc. as they have a dozen or so branches around the UK.

Discovered this restaurant on a whim after asking someone on the Albert Docks for a recommendation. We loved it so much we went back twice during our three-day stay in Liverpool. The food was excellent. The service was superb. The ambiance was absolutely perfect for a romantic dinner for two. I dream about going back to this restaurant for dinner. Love it!

Great service — great food! It’s a bit noisy but we still enjoyed the food and wine nonetheless!

Bought a lasagne and it was dry and possibly microwaved. Previous visits have been okay but the last time I was there I was disappointed with the food.

Gusto is my favorite place to go out for a nice meal with family and friends. It has a good view looking out over the Albert dock. The staff are always very good. And the food is amazing. And they do the best spicy Bloody Mary in Liverpool.

I went here with a coworker while we were in town for business and we had a fabulous time. The bartender was awesome and the drinks were fabulous. We had to wait a little bit for our table to be ready but it was more than okay. We had a great time looking at the interior décor and chatting. When we got to our table the waitress was awesome and super friendly. We ordered a few apps and they were great. The cheese board is to die for! I ordered the gnocchi and it was a HUGE helping, I left about half of it. Reasonably priced. Will be returning the next time I am out there in June.

Situated close by to St. Alberts Dock and undecided what cuisine I fancied eating on a Saturday night we plumped for this place. We hadn’t booked and although the place was buzzing, we were seated at a table straight away. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere and the décor is stylish. The waitress who served us was lovely and friendly, and engaged us in conversation about our weekend visit to Liverpool. Anyway back to the food! The food arrived in good time, with the pizza I had ordered being crispy and packed full of toppings — yummy! The mojitos went down rather well too not too much mint in them. This is a great restaurant for couples and large groups, with the restaurant being dimly lit giving it that sophisticated feel. You are able to glance over at the chefs at work in the kitchen too, which all adds to the dining experience. A fab restaurant that impressed me with its food and customer service.

We arrived tired and hungry on Sunday lunchtime. The place was busy, although not all the tables were taken, and the service was good. It’s a big place, with an Italian theme, and the food was first class. Garlic bread, marinated olives scallop salad, haddock tagliatelle and spaghetti with scallops and prawns and four bottles of Becks and a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc came to £74.75. When I’m next in Liverpool, I’ll be making a bee-line for it again.

The food here was of good quality but unfortunately some was cold by the time it arrived. The mussels we had whilst not bad, were not very fresh. The fritto misto and pizza were great. Good location on the side of Albert Dock. Friendly staff, good service. Good wine list, drinks were cold. Overall good, but some attention to basics needed.

Gusto is the perfect restaurant for family celebrations and get togethers. Located on the Albert Docks, its an elegant and stylish trattoria with a good atmosphere and glistening views of the water. The staff are warm and friendly and there’s usually an air of genuine joi de vivre in the air. Part of this is probably down to the excellent wine list — which includes wonderful champagnes, smooth Valpolicellas and Riojas, warm and fruity Cabaret Sauvignons, spicy Grenaches and some truly deep and robust Shirazs. Endearingly, Gusto’s menu is just as tempting with great seafood, rich steak and meat dishes, hearty salads, earthy risottos, al dente pastas, perfectly cooked lasagnes and thin-crusted pizzas cooked in a wood-fired oven. The Fiorentina, Griffin and Classic American are all very good but it;s the Caprino with roasted red peppers, goats cheese, pesto, mozzarella and pine-nuts that keeps calling me back.

Gusto is an Italian restaurant with more class than most if I’m honest which is mainly down to its great location which builds a fantastic ambience. The location within the docks is great and although the prices are bumped up here it is well worth the money you may spend. This is the kind of restaurant you would visit for an important occasion such as a Birthday and I guarantee it would be a treat for all. As with all of the dock area this place is very aesthetically pleasing and has extremely nice décor inside. This is such a relaxing restaurant you can while away the night and feel completely at ease. The staff are fantastic and they demand from each other that the standards are high from one another which results in exceptional service for the customer. On the whole a great classy restaurant which is well worth a visit.

I recently worked with a guy who would not stop going on about this place. He talked about it so much and suggested it to clients so often I suspected that he must have shares in the place. The fact that he was a tit meant that I came here with a pretty biased point of view but one that was quickly dismissed. A little cheaper than I was expecting, Gusto nonetheless offers a good selection of Italian/Mediterranean influenced food. The pizzas are very good value at the same prices as you would pay for a dominoes but for that real, stone bake quality with much fresher toppings. It’s a classy joint too with a simple décor that makes it feel like a posh dining experience, without costing a fortune.

Gusto is a great Italian restaurant on the dock, ideal for a cosy meal for two, or a family evening out. It’s the place I go if I fancy something nice but not ridiculously priced. It is usually very popular so I’d always advise booking in advance, but if you do pop in and have to wait, the Pumphouse pub is seconds away. I like the fact that even though it is very busy, the staff aren’t rushing you out of your seat, they always welcome you to take your time and enjoy the atmosphere. The food is delicious, I’d recommend the pasta with salmon and vegetables and the espresso and amaretto ice cream. The prices are really decent, the bill for two of us plus two drinks each was only about £40.

Gusto in Italiano means taste, and taste is definitely something that is associated with the Gusto brand. This particular one in Liverpool with its brilliant location is an ideal spot on a warm sunny day. Italian beef burger, Chargrilled lamb cutlets, roasted chicken breast, 28 day aged premium steak chargrilled to your liking, take your pick but one thing can be for sure is that they will all be Gusto indeed. Sitting by the water you might get seafood cravings and they can cater for that oh yes sir. I’ll have the grilled 2lb lobster please with a touch of garlic butter and fries… mmmm…yes it is £35 but well worth it, or you can go half at £19. I would however recommend a more appealing main of grilled pink Tilapia with Mediterranean rice, which at £14 is reasonable. There are 8 Gustos in the UK and having been to 4 of them I would say this one is up there both in terms of food, service and location. Next stop is Edinburgh I’ll report back, until then check out this one… Don’t say I didn’t Unilocal ya…

I like Gusto so much because it’s so stylish. If I want to go out for a swish meal I will go here. Not bad prices, although desserts are a little more than I like to pay. So starting with Tiger prawns at £6.95 in a garlic, tomato and cream sauce. Followed by a 28 day aged premium steak chargrilled to your liking priced at £12.95 with grilled tomato and fries. This is my fav main dish at the moment. Followed by dessert — such a hard choice and by no means as clear cut as the starter and main course. I spent 10 minutes umming and arrring and finally decided on warm pear and almond tart with vanilla ice cream at £5.75 chocolate and orange mousse. It didn’t disappoint. Anyone who wants to buy me a present, they sell gift cards — thanks!

Gusto is one of the nicest bars I have been in Liverpool. If you enjoy cocktails this is the place to go if you are out in Liverpool, they have an extensive list that caters for the needs of all. The food menu itself is very extensive, it has a wide variety of vegetarian and no vegetarian meals, when I was here last I ordered the Whole Grilled Lobster, I don’t normally order this but I wasn’t paying so it seemed like the sensible thing to do. It was absolutely delicious and I would have this again(even if I was paying). Following the main course I ordered the stick toffee pudding, this also was amazing, the toffee sauce was really sweet and rich and I could have eat it twice. It is am Italian restaurant so they have the typical menu offering a huge variety of Pizza and Pastas The portions were fairly large and worth paying for. The restaurant itself portrays a very sleek and professional manner, I think it might be a chain restaurant it seems to have that vibe about it The menu is very reasonably they offer certain happy hour offers on food but I don’t think they do on drink. The restaurant itself is very clean and well maintained and the staff are very polite. This is a definite again for me.
