Excellent value for money. Good quality and LOTS of choice. Friendly staff as well.

The staff were amazing, fast service, very polite, smiles on their faces they actually looked like they enjoyed their jobs which makes a lovely change. They came and collected your plates once you had finished so you weren’t trying to manage around them and were on the ball once you finished your drink, but not to a point where they lingered. The food was delicious and hot which you don’t always find with buffet food. When something ran out it was replaced immediately. I would say they only reason I couldn’t give it 5 stars was due to the fact I was a little disappointed with the variety… I expected a little more choice especially in th dessert section. Value for money was amazing I went with a friend and for two buffets(on a Saturday dinner), 1 soft drink and 2 cocktails it was £31 which for Liverpool one is amazing! But this wouldn’t stop me from going again… that and the choice of cocktails.

It looked promising when I entered and considering the price. The food generally looked nice at first glance, but the experience sours as soon as one begins eating. The egg fried rice is just a very sorry excuse for fried rice. It’s plain rice with a few pieces of scrambled egg. The crab claw looked nice, but looked nothing like crab inside nor does it taste like one. Chicken nuggets was laid out as oriental food? The Wok station was disappointing, enough that I didn’t even bother. The beef in black bean sauce was just full of soy sauce that you can’t taste anything else. The ribs, which otherwise tasted fine, had almost no meat. I struggled too much getting around the bones. The crème brûlée just tasted like burnt sugar. The ice cream was so soft that it melts as soon as you get to your table.(The person who served me ice cream was also very stingy about it… I got approximately the equivalent of one tablespoon of ice cream.) Anyhow, the price may tempt you to go, but seriously, don’t waste your money here. The only reason for the two stars is that the service was decent enough, but the food is definitely one star.

Abandoning my normal Unilocal tradition, this particular review is going to be short and sweet for the wrong reasons. A severely underwhelming experience was had here on my latest visit to the Pools of Liver. Having liked the Manchester equivalent very much je was looking forward to trying out the Liverpool variety of the Red hotness. Alas no such luck was forthcoming. We were ushered up a rather long set of stairs upon arrival despite there being plenty of seating down stairs. I was told the seats were reserved, I just hope the ghosts that dined there for the duration of our stay enjoyed their food very much. There was plenty of waiting staff, most of whom look very disinterested and failed to clear the plates in a timely manner. The food was arguably the worst I’ve had from any buffet of any sort for a long time. Not since my student days have I experienced such laziness. The sushi was off, and I mean literally OFF. The rice may well have been scraped from somewhere unholy and slapped on a tray for consumption. That set the tone for the rest of the night and it didn’t get much better after that. Long gone are the days when buffet restaurants were in the 3rd division of the Foodie eatery leagues. The likes of Nawab and Tops in Manchester have set the bar much higher in terms of quality of food than in previous years. Unfortunately this experience took me back to 2002 when a cheap chinese buffet left my stomach feeling like Baghdad 2004. The only thing that mildly rescued an otherwise forgettable experience was the entertainment available to diners. There was live music and two decent magicians circulating the premises performing card tricks for diners, which was the one highlight of the night. I’m fairly certain Liverpool 1 has a lot to offer foodies that make the trip to the East coast of our lovely Island. However, I for one won’t be returning to this establishment anytime soon.

Best buffet in this price league in the UK that we’ve tried. After three years of living in the UK, I thought these kinds of places didn’t exist here. It was actually a highlight of our memorable trip to Liverpool.

this used to be a good restaurant but now they seem to have forgotten cleanliness! plates were dirty, cutlery on the table stained and marked, service staff over worked, not enough of them for the amount of people that eat here. FLIES!!! all over the food! on salads and especially on the deserts. We felt thoroughly ill and couldn’t eat anything after seeing the flies. if this is the cleanliness at the front of the restaurant whats it like behind the scenes?!! why no fly zappers or coverings for the deserts that are left out on display for hours on end. We will not be going again.

Visited here for our daughter’s 8th birthday treat(just Mummy, Daddy and daughter) after a hard days shopping and sightseeing in Liverpool(we’re from Lancaster) for the first time on a Saturday early evening(arrived just after 5pm). One word best describes this place and that is ‘chaotic’. We were led all of 5 paces to our table which was the very first one as you walk into the venue. No sooner had we deposited our shopping on the floor than a waitress asked us what we would like to drink… erm, excuse me, would you mind if we get our coats off first please? Actually we should have kept them on because there was a fair chilly breeze blowing through the door. Once sat down and having a look at the ‘instructions’ of what to do, the waitress appeared again and we just ordered the first thing that came into our heads… couple of lagers for the grown ups and juice for littl’un. Then off we went to get our food. Firstly, this place is HUGE and we were a little concerned that we had to leave our shopping and other stuff unattended while we went to get our food but thankfully a waiter who seemed to do nothing but stand by the door for the duration of our visit indicated he’d keep an eye on it for us… To be honest I can’t fault the food, the array, styles and presentation is and are first rate, admittedly some of the dishes could be a smidge hotter(temperature I mean), the spring rolls tasted like Mum should have gone to Iceland and the chicken in pepper sauce was bland to say the least, but I suppose I’m just being picky(having been a chef for 17 odd years). The crispy duck with pancakes and hoi-sin sauce was gorgeous though. One thing that concerned me though was that the ‘puddings’ /‘sweets’ didn’t seem to be kept cold/cool and I wondered just how long they had been on display? Ok, it was a Saturday evening but boy was it busy… and please people, if you are taking your kids to somewhere like this will you please keep an eye on them, it’s a restaurant at the end of the day, not a playground? Price for 2 adults and 1 child including 4 drinks came to £48 and change, not bad, but a bit annoying when you can buy exactly the same food on any other night of the week for £5 a head cheaper. Would we eat here again? Yes, most definitely, but more than likely on a weekday when the kids are at school!(And by the way, felt sooooo sorry for the folks who forked out for their kids to eat chicken nuggets and chips which seemed to be the only thing on a lot of their plates!!!) Great food choice and very good quality from various countries! The price is correct. The service is not that good: waiters can be rude.

If you’re looking for a quiet meal with personal service then this might not be the place! Great choice of food with hundreds of dishes and loads of cuisines, a lively atmosphere and all you can eat for a great price. Great for a party or family outing.

Situated in Liverpool One, you had best finish your shopping before heading for something to eat here, with cuisine ranging from Japanese, Chinese, Cajun, Tex Mex, Italian, Thai, Indian aswell as English, you wont be moving about much for the next 24 hours after eating here. An all you can eat buffet, you pay a set price, grab a plate and off you go, with a whole range of starters, mains and an immense dessert section too. So make sure you leave room and dont overindulge too much on the sushi, seafood and salad bar, the pasta, the curries, and even the made to order noodle dishes, so you dont miss out on mini tiramasu, cheesecake, mousse, crepes. .… Off course if you are a sushi aficionado(like me) or an expert in Thai cuisine, dont get your hopes up too much on quality, you wont have the best meal of your life, but take it for what it is, starve yourself all day and go load up your plate and gorge yourself giddy. Ooh and there is a great bar with a decent cocktail list and dont forget your elasticated waistband.

Red Hot Buffet is a tribute to some of the best foods from around the world and it really is a sensation for your taste buds. This place does variety like no other and there should be something here for even the fussiest of eaters amongst your dining party. This place can also cater for various occasions and it really is a jack of all trades in terms of a dining experience. I have always been prepared to try all types of food and this place gave me the opportunity to tick of some cuisines from my list such as Mexican and Thai. Sometimes places that attempt to offer so much end up being wide of the mark in all areas but not this place as it is spot on in all areas. Even the drinks menu reflects a worldwide theme and you can find something to accompany any dish at all. This place is somewhere that Liverpool can be proud of as it brings the world’s best food right to their doorstep.

From the outside, before the doors open, expect a stampede. Hungry customers who have starved themselves all day, ready to feast on dishes from all over the world possibly attempting to break the Guiness World record on the amount of times you can go back to the food counter before being kicked out for eating the lot. For around £13 mid week peak time in the evening you can choose from Mexican, Indian, Chinese, Italian, sushi, salad bar, English menu(not the best!!!) and a huge dessert area that is well stocked with mini crumbles and custard, icecreams, an awesome kiddies style corner full of pick n mix sweets. The downside to all this, one your waist line, but two, you’re crammed in there like sardines, so that they can allow for as many customers as possible, even if you’ve booked a table be prepared to wait!

Greed is good once said Gordon Gecko but the true sign of the West’s rapacious appetites is not to be found on Wall Street or The City but through the queues of ravenous customers able to sample foods from all round the world in one single trough! If George Romero is planning any further Zombie features he could do worse than set it one of these places — he would alreday save a fortune on extras as giant people lurch from hot-tray to hot-tray in search of fried stuff with chips! You can’t argue with the fact that there is plenty on offer from Chinese to Thai and Mexican to Indian and all at very low prices. Busy on the peak nights of Thurs, Fri and Sat with possibility of a wait for a table.

This place is amazing! You have a choice of Indian, Thai, Japanese, TexMex, Italian, Chinese and English. There are like five diffrent curries, so good. There are two levels and the décor is more like an upmarket lounge. Plus the buffet is only £13, it is a great option for big groups when you cannot decide between a curry or pizza.

This award winning restaurant offers the best and most varied food the world has to offer within beautiful yet contemporary settings and all for one price. The dishes are created at live cooking stations by the finest chefs from around the world. In the evenings there is a selection of 120 items available from starters, salads and main courses to homemade desserts produced by in-house pastry chefs. The drinks menus they offer aim to enhance your dining experience further by reflecting the core ideals of their cuisine. With Chinese, Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian and Japanese choices all for one set price, Red Hot offers you the world on a plate. I thought the food was fine, though some dishes were distinctly better than others but I guess it all depends on your taste and expectations for a buffet style restaurant. Booking is strongly recommended especially at peak times as it is sometimes difficult to manœuvre when a lot of customers are constantly up and down from their table!

We originally went to Red Hot for a family meal as my brother can be a fussy eater and we thought that surely a restaurant boasting Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Tex Mex, Cajun, Thai and English foods would have something he could eat. But, to be honest, his eyes only really lit up when he got to the dessert counter… We were seated easily enough in the crowded dining room on the same level as the food. There’s an upper level as well, and I’m told that you need to get seats downstairs rather than upstairs otherwise by the time you’ve got your food and got back to your seat either you’re no longer hungry or the food’s gone cold. Waiter service was ok — there seemed to be a lot of foreign staff whose spoken English wasn’t impeccable, and they weren’t as attentive as they could have been. In my opinion, they have it easy, as they don’t have to serve your food for you, just clear the plates away and maintain the table. Hardly rocket science. Anyway — the food. Not particularly outstanding. I tried a tiny bit of everything and wasn’t impressed. The chicken korma was weak and runny, all of the meat was dry, the onion bhajis was greasy… Basically, what you’d expect from food that’s been mass-produced and left on hot plates. There are also supposed to be ‘live’ stations where you can get noodles etc cooked for you while you wait, but I didn’t see a lot going on there. Maybe the chef was on his break. In comparison to the main food, the desserts didn’t really offer as much variety, nor did they come from different nationalities,(unless the 6 different flavoured ice creams were supposed to represent a country) and the only thing that caught our eye was the fruit flambé. Which no one was brave enough to try. So, overall, I was suitably unimpressed. It seems like a good place to go for parties or large groups of people, and it’s a nice novelty buffet, but if you want the real thing, I think you’re better going to the individual Chinese, Italian, Indian… bla bla bla restaurants!

The first time I visited Red Hot my friend and I left the table after ordering drinks to get some food when we came back there was a family sitting in our table?! The same girl that took our drink order was serving them. I know they were very busy but to do that? Another time we visited they seated our group upstairs, which consisted of a baby and a toddler… We asked to be seated downstairs at one of the many empty tables but were told they were reserved. On this visit too they took about 20 mins before they took our drink order. The food is typical buffet but I like the variety of food available at red hot(mexican, chinese, indian, italian etc). They have a noodle and a pasta bar. Noodle bar is fab, although I am yet to actually get tofu with my noodles, which they claim to have. The dessert section is the selling point for me, tiramisu, cheesecakes, brownie and apple crumble amongst others. They also have sushi but it’s not proper sushi rice and the wasabi is very mild. If you’re not a fan of buffets then stay away, my boyfriend can’t stand the place but I would visit again with friends.
