Not even worth the one star. Very disgusting service. I have never written any reviews before, but today their service disgusted me so much i had to write a review. When me and my aunt when to eat at the restaurant with her toddler baby we were«Shuu» ed away like a dog. When we arrived at the restaurant there was a few groups of people waiting outside, we didnt mind waiting so we joined the quee. I noticed they had seats outside and people were waiting, i didnt know if they were being served or just waiting as they didnt even have menus. So i went in to ask one of the staff if we could be seated outside if the other people were just waiting. So i go in and ask this middle aged guy who is pretty sure the owner as ive seen him there all the time. I asked him«excuse me is the seat outside available or isit just waiting area?» He said very rudely I KNOW I KNOW. I was very confused and shocked at the way he was talking to me. And he made a hand gesture like he was shooing a dog. So i go outside and told my aunt this guy was being so rude to me. We decided to wait as we were really hungry. After about 30 min of waiting people front of us go inside, but this same guy came outside mumbling something rudely and went inside we didnt understand what he said so we kept waiting. He came outside again and shouted at us saying WE’REFULLNOSPACE and kept pointing at the buggy and he shooed us again. We felt very disgusted at how he was treating us. Even before being served we were disgusted. How can you run a business with that attitude. If he just said nicely«im sorry we have no space for the buggy we would understand and go somewhere else no problem». But being shooed like a dog did not amuse us. Never again we i nor my family and friends will ever go to this place.

We’re big fans of Korean food, and this little corner joint has been nagging me for a while. It has all the trappings of the sort of dive that could provide excellent food, from being filled with Korean students to aged branded posters on the walls. We finally went in to avoid a sudden downpour and hoped for the best. We opted for two lunch specials: one with galbi, one with bulgogi, and ordered both cucumber and cabbage kimchi, as well as ginseng tea to chase off the chill. Turns out this place is more like an overpriced canteen. The bulgogi was swimming in sauce and very sweet and bland; the cabbage kimchi was only ok and didn’t taste fermented, while the cucumber kimchi was old and soggy and awful. My better half’s galbi was actually inedible: old, smelly meat that was reheated probably twice before it reached our table, dessicated, tough as a shoe. There was a little fuss in swapping it out for the same bulgogi which I had which, while far from exemplary, was at least not dangerous-looking. The ginseng tea, instead of being the real deal, was the powdered instant crap – and they charged four quid for it. We left the place over £30 poorer, very angry that we’d paid so much for such atrocious food, and to top it off GF ended up with a severe stomach ache. Nothing redeeming about this place.

It may lack in atmosphere, but this is a cheap place to eat in central London. The food was tasty and the service wasn’t too bad. Extra bonus for football lovers is that they have TVs showing the world cup matches.

Quite a good place for Korean food, although it isn’t the seating isn’t that convenient for large group of people. We ordered Tofu and Kimchi Hotpot, Bibimbab, BBQ Beef and some side dishes like kimchi etc. The best is probably the Hotpot as everyone loved it and they wanted more of it. The bibimbab is slightly bland but it’s still quite nice. The beef is amazingly delicious but the food in general is slightly overpriced. The service is decent and they are quite friendly when we required more things such as forks etc. Will probably return again.

A full menu with a wide variety of options but the food is actually not good at all and the portion is much smaller than stated. We tried the gamjatang that was supposed to be enough to share for 2 but turned out to be barely enough and was of such poor quality that we ended up not even finishing the dish. The service is also in need of improvement. Not coming back for sure.

+ 1 for the cute thermos container they give you to pour water. + 1 for the variety of Korean dishes. — 2 for how bland the dolsot bibimbap was. — 2 for no toasted rice at the bottom of the bowl! — 2 for no banchan side dishes. + 5 for playing OPENCONDOMSTAR(okay okay, it’s really Gangnam Style!). I was just really disappointed with the bibimbap. It was just so bland, and even the world’s hottest gochujang wouldn’t help.

The location is great which is near the subway. Very convenient if you’re catching a show(highly recommend watching Jersey Boys). However, the food was mediocre. We had ordered kimchee pajun, duk boki, and mandu. These were simple Korean dishes that typically can’t screw up. On the plus side, they do have private karaōke rooms. You get to hear loud, drunk, tune deaf people sing throughout dinner.

I wanted to like this place. I really did. But I didn’t. The food is bland, like most of London, but c’mon this is Korean food! Where’s the spice? Where’s the flavor? The service was ok but nothing special. There’s a Karaōke bar attached which I didn’t try but I don’t think I’ll go back. Go if you are starving for Korean food and things are closing, but don’t expect much«wow». You’ve been warned.

Fast, cheap, and open late, but nothing to get excited about. I went here for a late second dinner because my friends and I decided to avoid the clubs and find something spicy to eat. If you’re dying to have some Korean food and nothing else is open this place will get the job done, but if it’s not late at night try one of the other places around.

Not much on atmosphere but it’s quick, cheap, and filling. We had spicy Korean ramen and a Korean version of General Tso’s. Everything was served hot, fresh, and it was all perfectly spicy to accent other flavors. Reasonably priced. Not elegant dining, that’s for sure.

Me and friend went on a Sunday, sadly Bibimbap is closed on Sunday so resorted here. It took over 20 mins for a waitress to come to us, watching them serve other people who came much later and being ignored started to irritate me. Me and my friend ordered japchae, spicy ricecakes and Bibimbap. Didn’t taste authentic, although I did like my japchae that seems it had too much oil. Spicy ricecakes was very spicy, and the meat they use tasted slightly off. My friends Bibimbap tasted bland! Was charged £3.75 service charge.

NOTE: this is a review meant for American visitors… THISPLACEISSHIT. I ordered a tofu soup because I was feeling nostalgic about the Korean restaurants back in California hoping it will be somewhat satisfying. Well in the end it was about almost £10 for this puny weak excuse of a bowl. There is absolutely no taste except excess spiciness, in other words — it tastes like spicy water. The rice was also pathetic. This is nothing close to a legit Korean restaurant. The owners are Chinese! There is absolutely no escaping the blandness of the UK. It’s as if they are afraid of flavors. Every time I order a meal I always have to ask for sauces in the side and drench my meal with it.

I popped in here for a quick lunch today. The regular menu is a tad above the average in price, but if you turn to the back you’ll find the discounted lunch options that run from 12−3pm. I went for beef vegetables with rice, Korean dumplings and a lovely plum juice. As this was my second Korean experience, my first not so memorably, I was quietly pleased how bubbly my waitress was, how prompt the food came out, and most importantly, how great the food tasted. Sure this was no michelin star experience, but when you are in and about Leicester Square, just getting a decent not to touristy meal inside you is difficult enough. I am definitely happy with my Corean Chilli lunch break and I’d recommend popping in for a tasty, quick bite if you fancy something a little different to the usual Chinese offerings nearby.

I went here once when my regular Korean place was closed and can only recommend it if you know nothing about authentic Korean food. I guess that they get away with it because of their location; they apparently rely on non-Korean tourists who don’t know better, and Korean tourists who don’t know where to find the authentic Korean restaurants. The food lacks zest and heat, i.e. it is cooked for Europeans, not Koreans, and not one dish impressed me. I would not go back again.

I really need to stop going to Korean restaurants by myself, they always stare at me. Maybe they aren’t used to unnaturally pale girls coming in, ordering ridiculous combinations of things and sitting hunched over a mobile phone. I don’t know, I’m not all culture knowledge fancy like some folks. I went into Korean Chilli cos I wasn’t brave enough to go into Okawari by myself. It seemed more café like and single diner friendly. Uncomfortable staring aside, they also dissuaded me from ordering a second hand roll. I like to eat, okay, I’m not paying you to judge me. Sushi was nice, tofu was better than expected, hand roll could have used a brother. I didn’t appreciate my green tea coming as a teabag in a mug. Pot +leaves, people, it’s not that hard! Also why is it spelt Corean. did they get confused, like Wahaca? For reference all the signs spell Korean Chilli.

I don’t get the deliberate mis-spelling of this restaurant’s name. I suspected it would serve Korean food and a glance at the colourful menus on the window confirmed a full menu of Korean dishes though there is some crossover with dishes like udon noodles. This site has played host to different restaurants over the years, usually of the quick and cheap oriental variety. Corean Chilli is no exception, with service being brisk and even brusque if you linger a bit too long. As I’m not that familiar with Korean food, I asked my waitress for recommendations. The seafood pancake starter was nice and flavoursome. For main course, I went with bibimbob, a bowl of rice with a choice of toppings including mixed vegetables and the piece de resistance, a raw egg. Everything is mixed together before eating. Sadly, this version lacked seasoning and was strangely devoid of flavour. At these prices, Corean Chilli makes a slightly different lunch option to the myriad Anglo-Canto restaurants in Chinatown but look elsewhere for your definitive Korean dining experience.

Went here about 18 months ago and had a pleasant meal with friends on a Saturday night. Recommended by Time Out as a cheap eat, it certainly was, and we felt we got great value for money. Have been three times since and unfortunately it seems to have got worse. My last visit about 4 months ago was unmemorable. I had octopus which was a bit smelly, and the main courses were comparable to a local takeaway. Such a shame that it’s gone so downhill, as it was really good once — honest! I may give it one more try. If you do go(you could do worse for the price in Central London) choose carefully on the menu, stick to the traditional dishes such as the bimbab and you shouldn’t go too wrong. Maybe it’ll pick up in the future!

I wasn’t sure if this was the place we ate at in London so I didn’t snag FTR but now that I see the picture, this place IS the place we ate at. IT’S ABSOLUTECRAP! I didn’t like their food at all and having had awesome Korean food in the states, this place definitely pales in comparison. I had the Ja Jien Mein here and kicked myself for ordering a Taiwanese dish at a Korean restaurant. They absolutely murdered it… in a bad way. My friends got some bul gol gi and other traditional Korean dishes that I can’t remember and I know we were NOT impressed. I will give this place 2 stars because of it’s spelling of Korean. Or COREAN as hardcore Coreans/Koreans would spell it. Apparently it has to deal with Japan and the Olympics and placing them as to who would go first. Something in regards to Korea/Corea having been spelled with a C would line them up before Japan in the Opening Ceremonies(because C comes before J, duh), so Japan decided to re-spell Corea to «Korea» hence having Korea/Corea come after Japan(A B C D E F G… J K L…). I feel like I’m wrong about the history so correct me if I am, haha.

Wow, I’m glad to be the first to review this place. It’s really great. I come here with the girlfriend(we had a fight on the upper level of this restaurant once, but forget all that) and have Vegetable Bim Bab. Bim Bab is a spicy rice bowl for the uninitiated. I’ve also had a noodle dish here in a spicy broth. The food here is quite reasonable so you’ll be able to eat for 2 for under 20 pounds. I think this place is a pleasant surprise. If you haven’t tried Korean Food before, you should.
