I loved Greggs so, so, SO much when I was in London. It was a huge struggle not to go every single day on my trek from the tube to my job. Not to mention the fact that ten sleeves from drinks got you a free donut. Come on! Greggs is half the reason I gained about fifteen pounds that semester– beer is the other. It’s unbeatable for very cheap, very delicious, very dangerous baked goods.

Greggs was one of the best place I would like to go, The shop offered a good selection of cakes and sandwiches, the pies were even better. Especially in the morning you need to something to eat on the way to work and in the evening you need something as you are so hungry after work.

Have you ever felt like a proper English sausage pastry — filling — stuffing — greasy and cheap. If you do hard physical work(I call it the gym), there is nothing as rewarding having a break at 10am in the morning eating such sausage roll. This place is made of English pastries specialties ignoring all the health attempts of the government — but a naughty treat for anyone passing there little takeaway shops with their unmistakable orange and blue branding Greggs — we love you!

Greggs is a great place to get a bite to eat. It is good to be able to have cheap hot food that does taste good. It is very cheap with pasties costing less than a pound. Admittedly they do not taste amazing, but in this cold weather it is so nice to be able to eat something warm. The staff are friendly and helpful but dont talk to much.

So I was an airplane mechanic; propellers and governors specifically, I fueled airplanes, and I do home remodeling(like actual building, not buying pretty couches.) Why is this important you ask? Because I am a blue collar gal who likes good food for a great deal. That is what you get at Greggs. You can get a sandwich and a drink for 3 quid and for that price, it isn’t half bad. They have sandwiches, baguettes, pasties, sausage rolls and an assortment of donuts and cookies. All have been made fresh daily so when they are out of something, they’re out. You can also grab a bag of chips and a soda. Maybe they have soup too. The service is quick and you often have change enough in your pocket to get a filling meal here. One note is go when they open(11am?) for the best selection. At about 1pm, there may be only an overcooked sausage roll and a tuna&sweetcorn sandwich left. You can find a Greggs in most shopping areas which is convenient. You can also eat your food while you walk somewhere, such as back to work. Novel? Maybe only to my fellow grease monkeys who are often busy and need quick fix meals. We aren’t ashamed to walk down the street stuffing our faces. We would be more ashamed to have a sandwich or meal in hand that is foo foo. My kind will also enjoy the 2 for 1 deals they have on their various pasties. Don’t worry, white collar folk can enjoy the occasional switch from Pret a Manger to Greggs as well it is like when a white collar folk crosses in to unfamiliar territory and succesfully installs a wall shelf(you know for like, candles and stuff.) It’s a similar satisfaction which makes them feel rugged and tough.
