The Durrel Arms is my breakfast beer place on a Saturday morning. Typically I try to avoid it during the evenings. That being said, it’s not a terrible pub to come to if you’re trying to watch sports. The booths can be reserved and each one has its own TV. There are also large projection screens around the bar for those who wish to stand or don’t have a booth. The night time crowd varies and can be pretty hit or miss, sometimes good sometimes unbearable. Even though I’m not the most complimentary about the crowd, the best part of the bar is the live music after 9pm on Thursday Friday and Saturdays. Usually the bands are quite good and mix in some covers and original songs. If you’re looking to have a party with some friends you can also reserve the back room(seats about 30 – 40) and there’s also a projection screen if you’re there with a group to watch the game. Drinks prices are pretty standard ~£4.50 a pint.

Came here to watch the first premier league game of the season — the place was packed! It’s fun to be in there for a sporting event — they have huge projector screens and turn all the tables/chairs to face the screen, and it’s more of a «stadium» feel, like you’re watching from the bleachers, except the food and drinks are much better. Nice little outdoor front garden too, though we didn’t spend much time there. My partner and I shared the Columbo — a half rack of ribs, BBQ chicken wings, 4 sliders, tons of chips. I also got a side Greek salad. The salad was massive for £3 and had lots of hunks of feta amid the leaves, olives, onions, and tomatoes. I knew I’d need a salad to counteract everything else I was about to eat! So the ribs were the best part — fall off the bone tender, and I dug the flavor of the BBQ sauce. The ribs were okay — they aren’t deep fried like they are in America, and I just think it’s weird if they aren’t fried because the skin isn’t crispy. So it’s just chicken wings, skin on, cooked and dipped in the same sauce as the ribs. Good flavor, but without the crisp from the fryer the texture isn’t ideal. The sliders were the worst bit — the buns are really chewy and sort of glue your mouth shut as you chew. The meat was plain and tough. We ended up just picking the meat out of the slider buns, but it was still pretty average. Chips were abundant and tasty, very crispy. Almost too crispy! But they were nice big fat chips that were quite addicting. £21 for all that food. Food is hit or miss, but I’d come again and order something else, I think they mainly know what they’re doing. And regardless, it’s a great place to drink and watch a game!

This place is fun and friendly. Live music on a Friday night makes for a great night. They regularly play sports on a huge screen which is great. The drinks and the food are brilliant! We regularly visit and would thoroughly recommend everyone to try it out!

We literally live at this pub so we are a bit biased. It’s a great pub, nice, clean and a lovely crowd! Expensive though at times, especially for things like mulled wine. Beers are cheap but other drinks a bit pricey. Their greek salad is amazing and huge and only £3 or so! Their burger is awesome and so is their sunday roast is generous and delicious! You definitely should check it out for sports as well, a massive projector and screen in the back room as well as numerous tv screens everywhere else. As well as live music on the weekends. All around a wonderful pub! A+++++

Solid neighborhood pub. Good beer selection, lots of room, nice décor, and a nice big screen for the games. They have quiz night on Tuesdays. If you are looking for a good relax time, this is a nice place to go to in Parsons Green!

Lobe the atmosphere of this place. Any night they are pumping with a good crowd. Head down here for all the games to watch on their large projectors, they have 2 in fact! Or on other nights during the week they do cool things like open mike night and pub quizzes etc. Came down here the other weekend for a Christmas dinner with my house mates. When four or more order the same roast they serve it family style on huge platters and you carve it yourself. It was so much food we ended taking half of it home! Delicious! They even take bookings! Only downside about this place is the drinks are a bit overpriced compared to other pubs in the area, otherwise I would of given it a 5 star review!

My friends and I were looking for a place to have dinner before a pub meet, and I chose The Durell Arms as it gives 50% off food with the Gourmet Society membership. Their menu changes every week, so they have a sample of what their menu looks like on their website. They also have daily specials on chalkboards at the pub. Food portions are large and quality is good. No complains, only compliments. Durrell Arms is a pretty large place, they accept reservations and is suitable for large groups. They also have a large television screen, great for catching the football match or any other major sporting event. I really like this place and my friends did too, we usually hang out in the east end but if we’re back on this side of London, we’re probably(read: definitely) going back here. I liked it so much I’ve suggested Durrell Arms as one of the pubs for our pub meets, here’s to hoping I get to come back here sooner than later.

It is a big pub but staff are friendly and every few months they do a free bar, wine tasting etc for regulars and local businesses. They also have backgammon evenings. They are trying hard to be a community pub, which is commendable.

With this many cask ale, cider and draught beer options, it’s a perfect neighborhood pub. Quality food, too.

I’m in 2 minds about this one. It is massive, with friendly enough staff. I’ve been there to watch 6 Nations Rugby as they advertise the coverage and they do have the facilities to watch live sporting events with 3 big screens. I also tried the food which was also nice. What’s with the 3 stars then you’d say? Well, it didn’t feel homely at all like I would expect from a local pub; probably because it’s massive inside & it was a Sunday. But also because one area was showing football, another Rugby, both while the music was still playing in the background. We asked for the sound to be turned down a bit but they responded that not everyone was watching. I think they were trying to cover too many things and it ended up being a slightly unfriendly atmosphere when I was there.

This is my favourite local pub. It’s got a great feel/atmosphere, warm and homely. And the food is pretty darn good for pub food, their hand cut chips are to die for! The menu changes frequently so theres always something new. And there are so many different areas you can sit and drink/eat, from cosy couches, to the booths, or outside in the front patio. They also have this great larger room out the back which is the best to watch big sporting events! But in saying that im not usually one for sports pub, this one is done right, quirky designs, very trendy.

A slightly strange pub, its massive inside and was showing rugby league when we were there on Friday, which makes you think it will be a certain type of place, but look a little closer and the walls are decorated with weird trinkets, paintings and features, and the toilets are covered in photos of naked or semi naked olden days women

This is the closest pub to me so of course I have been here a few times. I usually go to a place for food and not just drink so I have eaten here a lot as well. The food and pricing are good so don’t get me wrong. They have dinner specials each night which are 2 courses for 10 poundsnice. I have enjoyed all of my meals although a guest of mine once recieved a pie so over cooked on the outside, you had to take a piñata stick to it and smash it in for all the goodies which ended up being cold anyway. My issue with food here is you will wait and wait. and check on your food order with the bartender/waitress, be told it is on its way, then you wait for another 20 minutes. This is infuriating if you want your food and not be nervous all evening that your order has been forgotten. The last time I went with my husband, we ordered our food before the crowd came in to watch a game on the big screens. We ordered early and the crowd started to wander in about 20 minutes after that. Then the game started and at 15 minutes in we asked about our meal. It didn’t come until near the 45 half time of the game. We then waited until the end of the game for dessert. We asked twice about this course and were assured just a couple more minutes we should have left but decided to wait because of the novelty. So walk in to the restaurant at 7pm and leave at 9:20pm. This was only the worst incident but it has been like this everytime I have been in, with or without games, and at lunchtime or dinner. Expect to wait and give 1.5 hours dedicated to your meal. As far as going for drinks or to watch a game, they have some nice big lcd screens and one large projector in the back room. That is how they got their 2 stars from me. This is the only reason why it is often packed as well. My advice to them is, get another chef to help your current one out, organize your bartender/waitstaff who are overwhelmed and therefore useless, and lay off the tarragon in the food. You could have a good product so let your patrons see that.
