If you work by Old Street, you will know about Lennies. There are lots of worthy competitors surrounding it but Lennis is the place to go when you crave a hearty, stodgy, warm box of food. I have never had their sandwiches, but I frequent their hot food bar which I think is only around during lunch time. There is usually a big selection of hot food items ranging from lasagne(my fav!) to beef with rice. For about £4.50, you can get a whole box of one item, please a little salad. If you want to mix hot items, the price goes up a bit. Where else around Old Street are you going to be able to find a lasagne with a salad for that price? Yes, they microwave the hot items in the styrofoam boxes but I respect that it’s kind of old school like that. The staff are always friendly and the place is always heaving. That has to be a good sign right? If you go after 1:30pm, you may risk them running out of hot food.

The sandwich shop sits buy exit 1 inside old street tube station. I was waiting for a friend and n order to avoid the outside cold and calm my hunger I went inside. It was fine, ceilings are quite low so it feels a bit claustrophobic, they have a good selection of sandwich fillings; tuna mayo, coronation chicken, chicken tikka, prawn, roasted veggies, cheddar, mozzarella, etc. Through a door is the seating area were you have a range of hot meals, mostly pasta, beans and jacket potatoes(starting at £3). For what it is, I felt it a bit over priced 80p for a bottle of water but I guess being in the City and inside the tube, it has got raise the bar even if its just in prices. You might feel some what disregarded or ignored but I guess it happens when they get busy. Also, having a food business sin the tube can be risky as you have attain yourself to smelling any odour that swifts from there and it can be off putting.
