A great hidden gem in the city. They have a good selection of ales and pies. It’s not so loud that you can have a conversation(great atmosphere). It’s a good location for afterwork drinks. Nice comfy seats too if you can bag one early.

Good place for a chat tonight. Its a big space, tucked into a side street near Liverpool St station, so not too busy and we could find a seat even on a Friday night, although it was definitely lively and full of people, many standing outside. Décor is great and quite old, place is clean and bar staff were friendly and very efficient. Lots of beers to choose from too, much enjoyed.

If this pub could get a negative review, boooooy, I’d be hitting it. Had chicken pie from this place and, literally, half an hour later I was on my knees dying from food poisoning. I was sick for nearly two days straight. To this day, I can’t so much as look at a pie or this place without wanting to dry heave – which is depressing as there are some amazing pie places in London :( Also while we were there, a homeless man started making a scene and it took the bartenders forever to get him out of the pub. Meh. Will not be back.

If you like the Fullers beer range then its fine. If not, walk on by. Sadly ruined by uncaring staff which seem to change on a monthly basis. ps — don’t stand too close to the building on a summers evening as the pigeons will use you for target practice!

inoffensive Fullers city pub, well kept beer but short measures every time, about 10% per pint, reckon they have no shortfalls at their stock-takes. Wouldn’t be in a rush to go back, rather pricey, £8.10 for two beers.

This is a standard Fullers, pub, or «Ale and Pie House» as Fullers now call them. It has been open a couple of years and as with possibly all Fullers houses bought or renovated in this period, the décor dial was set to «Standard Mock Victorian». The beer is the same as all other Fullers houses, which is no bad thing; they have free WiFi as most Fullers places do, you’ll need to ask the staff for the code; the menu is the same(mostly pies and sausages) as all the other big Fullers pubs too. It is clean, the staff are efficient, it gets marginally less busy than the places that can be seen from Bishopsgate. It is however, very boring, there is no real character about the space and what there is, feels very manufactured. Unlike their more prestigeous venues such as The Old Bank of England and The Counting House, Fullers just haven’t tried to make it special at all. It feels like one of those new old pubs incongruously inserted into airport lounges or concrete 1960s blocks of flats. If you want to go to a pub similarly close to Liverpool Street, go to the Magpie, or Dirty Dicks(the upstairs bar is normally quieter), if you must go to a Fullers House, walk five minutes to Cornhill and go to The Counting House, which has a beautiful interior and somehow feels better in every imaginable way, except for the beer and the menu, which are of course, Fullers standard.

Beer is good, a Fullers Pub. Most of time you can get a seat. Usually quick to get served as there a plenty of staff on all the time. It has a disabled lift from ground level to bar.

I walked into this pub after making my final Liverpool Street visit, to a bookstore, and settled down with the intention of unwinding. I ordered myself a pint of Kronenberg and waited for peace of mind to come… but it didn’t. I was too busy thinking about food! I was to be cooking my girlfriend dinner that night, and in front of me on the table is a hugely diverse pub menu that offers pies in such quantities that I thought I was at a football match! The pub is colourful and warm, clean, well lit. the ambience is good. Light comes from some glowing wall mounted lamps and makes the place feel homely. The seating area is large but not as large as the menu… the place claims to be an ‘Ale + Pie house’, an interesting concept. The place offers a ‘Red Onion, Pear and Stilton Tart’ and a special ‘Shooting Star pie’, containing pork and apple, or a pie containing mutton, shallots, rosemary and pork. What an amazing list! If I had slightly more money I would have to try this munch. Until then… this is somewhere to go with your Dad or your family, somewhere you’re not looking over disapprovingly at the group of builders who won’t stop swearing in front of your nan. A nice little place.
