This a «gastronome» restaurant with freshly cooked tasty product and top notch service. The cuisine is sophisticated but not pretentious and portion are sufficient. Go there quickly while it’s not expensive(£10 starter, £16 main, £7 dessert) because their success is just a question of time! At the moment, it’s a great value for money. The wines selection is ok, not amazing but very reasonably priced. A great place to have a romantic diner with your partner!

An unassuming new restaurant that outshines the other restos in the area. We went for our 4th anniversary and were attended to especially because of the special occasion which was super lovely considering they were swamped on a friday night. We had the 6 course meal with wine pairings that blew us away. We were given homemade sourdough and foccacia with a smokey butter. The bread was good and i can appreciate the butter but i personally don’t like anything smoked. Not to say i didn’t eat half of it. The amuse bouche was a lemon gelatin with fennel mousse. Was not my favorite, tasted a touch too salty and there was a lingering fatty feel in my mouth. Not how I’d like to start the meal. 1. Black ink risotto with parmeasean foam and generous helpings of squid was perfect. The squid was grilled and tasted very fresh. wine pairing was a bordeaux that was like spring in a bottle. Fresh, light, citrusy, notes of peaches, and apricots. Just a fruit explosion. 2. I had choice of foi gras but i gave it up for consommé because I just don’t like it and i love a good consommé. The chicken bits in the broth were a tad dry and you could tell were added at the last second as it brought the temp down on the dish. But the broth was bright, clear and not a hint of oil gloss. The potato balls were a nice touch. The wine pairing was a Monbazillac, heavy on the apricot and a touch dry and complemented the dish perfectly. 3. The Sea Bream was next with cilantro, a horseradish mousse that tasted more like sour cream than horseradish however, it was a very bright and lively dish that was very fresh. The wine pairing was a Vourvray and just delightfully delicious. Bright, sunny. 4. The duck breast with a cauliflower purée and cabbage leaves was really nice. Perfectly seared duck and the berries in the dish were not sour or too sweet and was well incorporated into the dish. Really lovely. The wine pairing was a Morande Reserve that was light and dry with notes of oak and berries. Perfect yet again. 5. Next was a poached pear with chocolate mousse dots and meringue. The poached pears were nice and light, but the chocolate over powered the dish and didn’t really seem relevant. but the real star of the dish was the meringue that might’ve been flavored with star anise or cardamom. Just divine, and thats coming from someone who doesn’t even like meringue. 6. the last and final dish was a tiramasu that fell a bit short. The base was not as flavorful as that of a typical tiramasu, was a little lack luster, but was still a nice soft finish to a wonderful meal. The tawny port paired with it was equally delicious. Outstanding meal.
