Walked in without a reservation and was seated right away. I was a little underdressed as I came from a matinée at the theatre. No worries, wasn’t taken to the back table to hide us. I started with a recommended avocado, cucumber, sprouts and water chestnut salad. Very great and tasty. Main course I had monkfish tail. Unbelievably tasty, a little strong fishy smell but it was beautifully cooked. It almost reminded me of a lighter version of lobster. Almost the same taste and consistency. Dessert was ginger cake, Christmas pudding ice-cream. The bomb. I will be dreaming of this ice cream when I go to sleep tonight.

Excellent quality food, express lunch menu is reasonably priced but you must expect hotel prices of choosing off the a la carte! One meal order was incorrectly out through so we had to wait 15 minutes for that meal to arrive, but staff were highly apologetic and deducted the price off the bill — although it ruined the ambience of the graduation lunch having to wait for a second meal to arrive as everyone else was significant further through their meal even after waiting(and having it go cold)! The burger and fish & chips were both excellent portions, whereas the chicken dish and lobster were much more delicately sized!

The service here is amazing as with the rest of the hotel. My favorite dish is the tomato salad and the salmon. It´s a beautiful room that you can sit in for hours. And spot the mayor of London at the same time:) All in all would go again and again.

I went to The Northall for a birthday dinner with my partner and it was superb, the pork belly was most certainly one of the best dishes I have had in a long time. The service was a bit off however but it wouldn’t stop me going back for more. My only complaint was the offhand comments by one of the staff in regards to the lack of crumbs, as because we’re under 50, we’re automatically messy eaters? The restaurant is lovely and the food is sublime however I’d warn those in their 20s to go to the bar instead. Still great food in a wonderful atmosphere, and I’ll most certainly go again.

Excellent restaurant! Very high end food. We ordered the octopus appetizer and was surprised by the presentation. It is unusual to serve grilled octopus in super thin deli slices. It was tasty, but significantly smaller than anticipated. The crab bisque was the delicious! We each had the steak, and it was excellent for UK beef, but nothing notable for an American. The setting is formal, so after walking around all day with our jeans on, we probably stood out, but we were well accommodated.

This review is for the Northall Bar, adjacent to the more formal and expensive restaurant. We found this bar – in the Corinthia Hotel one night on the way home from a night in the West End, a short walk away. we opted for the Northall Bar, with a lighter menu and more laid back atmospheres. Wines were reasonable, food was fresh and wonderful. service was spectacular… all combined for a lovely evening. We liked it so much, we went back the next night w family. U

Very impressive restaurant. Beautiful space with very tall ceilings and located in a very nice hotel. The service was excellent, food wonderful, and price seemed cheap. We had the theatre prix fixe which comes with three courses and a glass of champagne for £30. My date and I were very impressed with the quality of the food and its presentation. Probably the best prepared lamb I’ve had.

Great classy restaurant. The burger is amazing, one of the best ever. The desserts are also very nice. They also have a very nice children menu. Strongly advice to eat here!

Beautiful hotel and a wonderful restaurant! After perusing various Thanksgiving menus, we decided on the Northall Thanksgiving menu. Christmas decorations were in full effect and it was like a very classy winter wonderland inside the hotel! We tried the turkey and the mac and cheese which also included a first course of either pumpkin soup or fried soft shell crab. Additional fixings were provided to round out the meal including sweet potatoes with toasted marshmallows and cranberry sauce. The meal was lovely but the only disappointment was the lack of American Thanksgiving desserts. How can there be no pumpkin pie!!? The offerings on the Thanksgiving menu were chocolate cake or lemon meringue pie. They were very accommodating though as they allowed you to order off their regular menu for desserts at no charge.

Great restaurant, surprised it’s not more full for lunch!(especially with the prix fixe deal) Pros: Excellent seasonal fare. Beautiful atmosphere, with high ceilings, large windows, heaps of natural light, fresh orchids and other flowers updated regularly, etc etc. Absolutely lovely. Service is excellent, with front of house staff always ready with a smile. Cons: Difficult to come up with any. If I had to reach, I’d say some of the menu items are not often available, but I think this is a Pro as it speaks to the use of fresh ingredients by the kitchen. Too bad it’s not cheaper or I’d be here all the time!

They have a cheap fixed price menu which is actually rather good. The surroundings are opulent, the service excellent, the Viognier very reasonably priced and very pleasant indeed Order the Syllabub on the desert menu, it is one of the best things you will ever put in your mouth.

The fish and chips was wonderful. Wine list was great, menu was a bit awkward. I struggled with trying to understand what they were trying to accomplish. Beautiful setting. Prices are very high(it is London after all), but there are items that are reasonable.

Getting off randomly at Embankment after a long day in the office and looking desparately for some nice place around to have dinner, I came across some raving reviews about The Northall Restaurant. Just a few steps down the road, I decided to give it a go. I entered the impressive building and immediately was led the way from the bar to the restaurant and granted a nice place by the window. As you would expect for a decent dinner, a tasty wine is always a good start. So I asked the really attentive and helpful waiter for advice. His first shot was the second most expensive wine by the glass, and I thought to myself: What the hell? Tryingto sell me the secondmost important glass is very obvious mission, right?! So I asked him for something lighter, and he came up with a wine that later turned out to be brilliant for a fair price. So I’m afraid my first thought wouldn’t have done him justice. As already mentioned above, I read fabulous things about the burger, and when going through the menu I couldn’t decide whether I should go for the highly praised burger or for a probably as delicious fillet steak. Again I asked my waiter for the rescue. He confirmed that he actually had both, and acknowledged that the burger was perhaps the best burger he ever had. After I had. Not yet tasted the wine at that point, I was still a bit suspicious isn’t his jobto say nice things about the stuff he sells anyway?! But I believed him and ordered the burger. After a little wait, the fairly expensive water and the revelation of a white wine arrived. Unfortunately, it took them a bit too long to bring the delicious bread with the smoothy tasty butter, so I barely could try the bread and butter before the burger arrived. Now to the burger. To no big surprise, the witty waiter was right. Despite not mentioned on the various well-known London burger charts, this is truly one of the best burgers in town. The patty was prepared to perfection, with cheese and plenty of bacon, and a delicious bun that could handle the burger very well without allowing any mess. The chips that came with the burger were not as spectacular as the burger. They were okay. They were good. But honestly, the were nothing special. With two including butter and bread even three so positive experiences, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the dessert menu. The options were somewhat limited, but I was more than happy to choose their strawberry dish. It came quickly with three strawberries and was another highlight. To round off my evening, I asked for an espresso. And this is the only time when I was a bit disappointed by what I got. Not that it was a particularly bad espresso, but the black and bitter cup just could not compete withal, the rest I had there. Being nice, I said that I liked the espresso when the waiter asked me, and surprisingly, he brought me another né for free. That was sort of welcome, as I spent my evening there reading some stuff, and reading with some coffee is always better than reading without some coffee. The Northall is one of the places that really surprised me in some ways. Located within an expensive hotel in central London, it looks like sort of a posh and overpriced venue. And of course food and wine isn’t cheap, and the water might well be overpriced, but the food and also my wine was definitely worth the money. Also, you get very good service, and the interior is astonishing. Very high ceiling, well-chosen colours, nice atmosphere, random(pop?!) music. At first, I wondered about the music, but then I was fine with it. If they would play classic or some avantgarde jazz, the restaurant would probably seem very different. So the casual music gives this otherwise a bit exclusive place a grounded touch. Altogether dining at The Northall is an experience that is not to be missed if you like architecture, good wine and good food. And good service. And comfy seats.

This was a delightful surprise — although it looks like it might just be a really expensive restaurant in a touristy area, it was much more than that. For a fixed price(28GBP per person) we had a glass(large) of real champagne(Laurent Perrier), and three courses. Starters were good, but the mains(British lamb chops) were superb. The ambiance is extremely attractive, quiet, attentive service… and good wine list at good prices. For the location, the food, and the surroundings we wouldn’t have been surprised to pay twice as much.

A ridiculously well-kept secret from everyone in London.(And I’m shooting myself in the foot by writing this review, I realise) The Northall restaurant isn’t quite just a hotel restaurant. It has a set menu with a glass of fizzy for £28, the best burger I’ve had in London on its main menu, and a waiter who pronounces the T in merlot. To his credit, he also pours out a sip of wine for you to taste instead of bringing you a full glass and plopping it on the table. Which was a blessing, as my original choice of Merlot was not good. I had the Pinot noir instead. What do you want from your burger? A massive beef patty? Bacon? Cheese? Tomato? Lettuce? Gherkins? Brioche bun? Lovely chips in a cute miniature jar? A condiment waiter bringing you a trayful of ketchups, mayos, mustards, etc? Trust me. This burger is EPIC. It won’t blow your tastebuds away, this isn’t spicealot-central(meat liquor), this is just unquestionably excellent ingredients prepared to perfection to satisfy your Friday night I’ve-had-a-long-week-from-hell hunger. And that, it really does. Seriously. A nice quiet place, with delicate décor and very nice staff. I have to admit I just had the burger and the wine, and therefore cannot comment on the other fare. I’m looking forward to going back and probably opting for that burger again over all the other delicacies on the menu. Oh well. I’ve always known I was a carnivore. I just had no idea you could get this kind of meat in central London hotels! OMNOMNOM

The service was excellent. I had pea risotto which was average in taste and too much for me to eat which is saying something. Others had the fish of the day which was place. It came out bone in when it had been asked to be filleted. The steaks were very good and the fries and sautéed spinach were excellent. The rhubarb cake was ok for dessert. Not exceptionally flavorful. The espresso was excellent. It cost £188 per couple with drinks and tip.

Beautiful — just like the hotel. Décor is outstanding, just beautiful design. The service was perfect and the food could not have been better. The risotto was so delicious and perfectly cooked. We also had the fish n chips which should be noted as some of the best in London. The bolognese was also one of the best I have ever had. Highly recommend for lunch or dinner — dress smartly though, not a casual setting. I did rate it as good for kids with the following caveat — my children are 9 and 12 and well accustomed to eating in quiet nice restaurants — but Northall had a very nice children’s menu and the servers were quite nice and accommodating to my children.

Wonderful beautiful restaurant, if not an expensive one. Please see my review of «Corinthia Hotel London» for the full review. A typical 3 course meal here costs around £100 though they have sunday offer inc a glass of champagne for £35 and a lunchtime offer for £25. As I mentioned in the other review I’d give this place 4.5 stars as I found it a little expensive(thank god I wasn’t paying!), but if you want well cooked great food and want to visually blow someone’s socks off this is the place!

Gorgeous, wonderfully elegant new David Collins interior in shades of caramel and the food is similarly delicious. The best steak tartare I’ve had in London, ever: rich, smooth, slick My dover sole with citrus was incredible, and the little bowl of Damian Allsop chocolates I had to finish(half orange confit, half freeze dried raspberries) were pure heaven. Everything is seasonal and sourced from British artisans, with ingredients credited to their farmer/fisher. Excellent service and very reasonable prices for such swank five star hotel surroundings. Can’t wait to go back.

My genuine and honest message of advice to all Qypers! The Corinthia Hotel in Embankment is the ‘Ultra’ superb hotel in the whole of London, better than the Ritz, the Mayfair and the Dorchester all three put together. The Corinthia is the Leica M9 of hotel stays. As a press photographer, I have photographed Amy Adams, Colin Firth, Rupert Grint, Emily Blunt, Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy, Tilda Swindon, Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Milla Jovovich, Rachel McAdams, Jude Law, Cillian Murphy, James McAvoy and a few other famous faces inside and outside of the Corinthia Hotel, over the past two years. The Cortinthia is the ultimate utopia. Staying at the Corinthia Hotel is an upscale experience always to be remembered. I’d call it the Corinthia-Utopia Hotel, London’s ‘only’ upscale seven star hotel.
