There aren’t too many places in a tourist area where you get good value for money. Craft beers on tap and superb cocktails at a reasonable price. Friendly staff. What more do you want?

Love this bar. Great cocktail menu and the bar staff were very helpful when it came to recommending things to try. I particularly liked the passion fruit sizzle! Also what is good fun is the bags of hot popcorn they do. Great picking snack.

Expect very slow service on a Friday night — the place was heaving and there were only two bar staff. Good atmosphere — nice basement room and outside area. But I would only go if it was quieter.

I can’t speak for anyone else but over the years this bar has become my favourite in London. Location — faultless. Tucked off the hustle of Piccadilly, Oxford Circus and the teeming masses of Carnaby, at the soft end of Soho, on a street that doubles as a catwalk during the summer evenings and morphs into panorama of London nightlife come dark. Interior — Sparse. I like my bars minimal and for my regular, I could care less if David Collins had designed it. It has a board with the drinks on it. A few pictures. Tables, a generously long bar and several sofas. Downstairs the Tiki bar is cosy and encourages cross-table conversation when packed. Nothing more, nothing less. The drinks are all well-made and reasonable for the area; there was one Eurasian bartender who I still think works there who makes excellent old fashioneds. The crowd and atmosphere is lively and thankfully lacking any pretension whatsover, despite clearly attracting both hipsters and a young after work crowd. Beers range from mainstream to Camden to the ubiquitous craft beers(though never more than a few). The music policy is excellent and the fact you can stand outside on both sides of the bar is a bonus. Bartenders have never anything less than great, and there’s free wifi, while the lack of signage and the tucked-away location makes it feel more special than your average bar. The vibe is casual and everyone is there to have a good time. A central London gem.

Fun fun, how have you not changed in the decade I’ve been away ? La — still kind of love you the way I used to but my tastes have changed — its not you its me I swear… You are something that once was special and now is just another Soho bar, even your downstairs tikiness won’t save you from my changing desires. The elements are there, you still have booze and tables and your after work slash hipster crowd, just not my cup of tea and not my first choice. Not anymore…

Great bar downstairs. Awesome music, fantastic atmosphere. Bar staff more interested in Facebook updates and completely drunk at 11pm. Sorry, I am going into a bar to have a drink or two.

for some reason i find that i dont want to like this place, and yet i cant help myself. its actually alright. in fact its better then just alright. With a Tiki-Bar in the basement, its kitch enough without feeling try hard. Upstairs is a basic Bar, with decent music and fair enough prices. the Staff are friendly and easy going. the People who go there are very mixed, but generally ive never had a problem with anyone there. if youre stuck in Carnaby Street and looking for a decent watering hole, this can be youre spot.

Solid bar. Red stripe on tap. Attentive bar staff. Never too packed. There’s a relaxed atmosphere with some hipster element but its not overwhelming. A good mix of people in suits, designers and the rest. The back part of the bar is open and mixing with Shampers next door. All in all a great bar, easy, and decent drinks.

Two Floors. One floor(the top floor) is just an easy, approachable, authentic BAR. Not a pub, not a club, but a bar. And the bottom floor, where I hung out – dang it forgot the official name, but it is a true tiki bar!!! Awesome décor, awesome vibe – they stick to the theme here. Got a bit crowded with drunken 20 somethings later in the eve on a Saturday, but I am still a big fan for the drink menu, the Red Stripe on tap, the décor, and the music. Can be accessed directly I think from the back alley.

I will say straight up, were it not for the hangovers that materialise from this place, it would be five stars. The guy who works in the downstairs bar does mean margaritas/old fashioned’s, it’s a fun environment and very different on both floors. Would recommend for: 1) Soho cool upstairs and 2) Soho irony and silliness downstairs… Enjoy

Perfect bar to catch-up with people, or just hang out. Grab a bottle of Brooklyn beer and watch the world go by.

I think this is supposed to be a bit of a trendy place. It certainly looks like it could be kind of cool. Dark and minimalistic, you might not even know what the venue is used for when its not open. Maybe it’s some peoples cup of tea but I just don’t like this kind of bar. They had 1 thing on tap, a Jamaican lager which may well be the worst lager I’ve ever tasted(and I’ve drank Stella!), it was just all fizz. A couple of other lagers and ales were available in vastly overpriced bottles. We did not stay long.

Nice cosy place. The staff were friendly and the place was filled with normal folk. One beer on tap but a nice selection of other drinks including a mean french martini. We managed to hog the two couches by the window for a majority of the night so we were sitting comfortably. There were others who were perched on some rickety looking stools though which i wouldn’t trust myself on after a couple of bottles.

Two floors is a place in Soho I find myself often with my student colleagues catching up with good old times. It is a quite relaxed, casual and bohemian atmosphere. They serve all kinds of bottled beers and there are some tables available to sit down, although I always end up sitting at the bar. Especially in summer this place is particular nice, as you can stand out side enjoying your cigarette and beer at the same time. It happens sometime that I bump into same familiar faces, which I have not seen for a while, a rare thing in London. You will be surprised, when making your way down to the toilet, there is a further room with a hidden treasure — a tikki bar. We tried to get a table before Christmas down there. However, it was already fully booked. This place is busy all day, it is the kind of place you catch up late in the afternoon and it turns into a big night out. If there is a cool place in Soho with less tourists but more Londoners, this is it. It is not pretentious but just stays true to its origin– a proper London meet up.

Great place for an after work/start of night drink. Tucked nicely into Kingly Court, this place is really buzzy and in my opinion very cool.

This pub has an unexpected surprise for all that come here for the first time, when you walk in you see a quite subdued looking bar-pub, with not much effort on decoration, you see nothing but a simple bar, very well equipped and really cool staff to serve you. But… once you venture downstairs you are in a whole different place, its a Tikki bar! It has a small bar with all the deco implied in this style; nice comfy seating is just a treat. I’ve been there a couple of times and it’s never crowded, just the right amount of people.

another favourite; used to go here a lot when I worked in Soho. not as much of a secret anymore now that Kingly Court has been opened up, but still great for lunch and after works drinks. glad it’s still there after all those years

A Soho bar that has been there almost as long as I have been in London is something pretty refreshing frankly. I remember first going there in about 1997 and thinking it was great, and have come back many a time since then, although my trip last night was the first in a year or so. The genius with Two Floors is that is was never über-cool, just quite comfy with itself as being a good friendly bar and because of this it has never really hit the heights of impossible to get into/served at, but it has also not lost all its customers to another bar as they migrate to the latest and greatest. The top bar is long and the main room is fairly spacious with sofas, wooden seats and low tables dotted around the place. The basement bar is slightly random with some sort of Hawiian style décor going on. It’s low lit and doesn’t get a huge amount of light in because of its position so think New York bar experience for that part of the atmosphere. It’s a friendly place as well and always feels a very comfortable place to hang out in. Only has the one beer on tap — but its the very good Kirin and reasonably priced. Has a fairly good selection of bottled beers too. Does some good cocktails for around £6 as well. I’m not so sure about the service these days. I might have hit it on a bad night, but it was pretty amateur last night with the selection of who was next seeming to be totally random. Overall though a really good bar and a true stalwart of the Soho scene. Worth noting — I don’t think it’s ever had a sign outside, so note the address. It’s pretty obvious its a bar from the outside, but you won’t find the name there.

A favourite bar of mine, discovered about a year ago when looking for somewhere central with an outdoor area. As soon as my friend and I walked in, we both said the place reminded us of Manchester — simply and slightly retro decorated, with normal people rather than your usual dressed up, suited up rich kids who normally drink around Carnaby Street. The bar is averagely priced — another bonus considering its location. Music is eclectic and not too loud. The downstairs is dark and cosy and there are some tables for us smokers outside. Cute bar staff to appreciate too. Perfect especially for after work drinks.

A great place to meet for a drink before dinner or have a few afterwards, Two Floors has got several tables and a few comfy sofas on the ground floor at the main bar, and a tiki-esque second bar on the lower ground floor. The back doors let out onto the courtyard at the back of Carnaby Street, so there’s plenty of space to spill out on crowded evenings. Ciabatte are served during the day, and students and in-between-meetings media types(like me) can usually be found camped out on the sofas in the back. Excellent and well-priced caipiroskas, decent wine and friendly staff keep it on my Soho shortlist.
