I love ‘The Harvester’ restaurant because it serves good homely food with the taste of excellence. I particularly like this Harvester on Lavernock road a couple minutes away from Cosmeston Lakes. I suppose I like this Harvester restaurant more than any others because I have some funny memories there including setting a bumble bee cake on fire. Yes, you did read correctly. As you expect from a Harvester restaurant it serves good and decent British food that looks and tastes great. They accept booking too, I once had a birthday meal there and ended up having a lovely time with my family apart from burning part of the menu and some of the waitresses arm… I should explain that they were trying to hide my ‘bumblebee cake’ at the time whilst the candles were lit and then all hell broke loose. We ended up laughing about the situation although we did feel for the waitress who burnt her arm. I am surprised we weren’t banned. Did I mention I was 19 at the time and I had a bumblebee cake? Enough said I think. The restaurant is a lovely dining area that’s calm and relaxing. It’s great for families and couples. The Harvester is a lovely restaurant that is worth visiting. You will be returning to that free salad bar they offer more often than you think!

A very popular restaurant on the edge of Penarth. I particularly like to come here after a nice stroll through Cosmetson park, so it’s convenient for visitors and locals alike. The first time I visited I was rather impressed(and suprised) by the décor, which was certainly above average for a Harvester. The food unfortunately was less surprising, it was hardly a culinary masterpiece, but exactly what you’d expect from a harvester(average). There is a small but amiable bar(not worth a visit if you’re not using the restaurant). There is also a nice small patio area which is popular in the summer(only smokers tend to brave it in the winter). Additionally there is plenty of car parking space.

Very much like a beef eater the harvester serves traditional food at a good price. Food service is very quick and the staff are friendly. Parking is onsite but there is limited disabled access due too the number of steps. Pricing is fair for what you get and children are warmly welcomed

This is ideal for families it has a children’s play area also an out door seating area if you prefer. In true Harvester Style there is a fabulous salad bar serving hundreds of favourites. The meals themselves are well prices and substancial. tyhe service is fast but friendly and professional. be warned this place can get quite busy over the weekends so may be advisable to ring a head and book a table.
