A beautiful place to go for a stroll and take a picnic. The lakes and surrounding paths are well maintained. The coffee shop quite often gets busy on nice days and can be pricey for what you get but it is clean and well staffed. The toilets smell a bit and the childrens paly park needs lots of attention but all these things aside, it really is worth a visit on a nice sunny day. Made the most out of the adjoining Medieval Village too!

Cosmeston lake is a very scenice location. With beautifal lakes & grassy areas. Sufficient parking facilities & a park for the kids as well. very well kept & a great day out for relaxing, looking at the wildlife, even a picnic.

We used to spend a lot of time here when we lived in nearby Barry. A nice place to take a picnic, as the last reviewer suggested, or to have a snack in the café(there is a small gift shop inside too). The board walks and level pathways make this a pleasant place for everyone. A good area for photography too: water fowl, bees, butterflies, wild flowers and the views across the two lakes. A large free car park too.

This is a fantastic FREE day out for the family, grab a pinic and a blanket and you can lose yourself for a day. With wooden walkways and huge man made lakes this is a great day out in the country only a few miles away from the buzz of Cardiff. The site is created from an old quarry with waters so deep you would never reach the bottom. There are nature walks and loads of wildlife living in their natural surroundings. BBQ facilities can also be arranged at a small fee. The summertime is allways a hive of activity.
