Lords Café Bar

A continental style café bar situated at the north end of Lord Street. Comfy leather sofas that you can sort of sink into, but still end up being a bit too upright for my liking, but still relatively comfy. Really good for catching up with friends or work colleagues. Once your food arrives it will certainly be presented in a very beautiful manner, no throwing it on the plate that’s for sure. There is a great selection of breakfast and lunch dishes and very well pleased, especially given the quality of the food.

I’m bowled over by the sheer amount of food options Southport has nowadays. Breakfast and lunch are the order of the day at Lords, and its location means it’s certainly a good contender for a refuel if you happen to be shopping in the area.
There are big options and light choices for your morning meal, with toasted croissant and creamy scrambled egg being a particular favourite of mine. Reminds me of holidays to France. Plus there are breakfast melts, sandwiches and paninis available that are chunky and hearty and very tasty. When it comes to lunch there are simple sandwiches aplenty, served on a choice of bread or toasty warm paninis with heated fillings, most of which involve mozzarella. And for a lighter option with wholesome and generous fillings, wraps are a good bet, particularly their feta cheese option with olives.
Sides-​wise they do a fabulous homemade coleslaw (always a favourite of mine) and a truly drool-​worthy garlic and cheese ciabatta — whether or not it’s bread overload to have that alongside a sandwich isn’t the question, it’s the fact that it’s just so darn tasty and you’re a fool not to try and fit it in. It’s comfy, it’s smart and the staff are excellent too.
