The Wro is really very nice inside, but I am not so sure on the outside. From the inside it is very stylish and it almost forgives the outside. I can only comment on the drinks and atmosphere and not the food. But from what Rana says, the food isn’t that great! Atmosphere and looks wise instead I really liked it and definitely found it the best that was going on in West Kirkby. You will find them open for breakfast which I was surprised about, are open for afternoon tea and in the evenings! They have various events on including food tasting at different times in the year. So if you are in the area, check out their websites for events that might interest you.

«The Wro»…er excuse me what was that? The Wro… it’s a bar folks!!! Ok perhaps they were going for the minimilist theme but what is up with the name… seriously!!! This is a nice little bar /eatery in Wirral which is just that… nice. Apart from having an annoying name, this place is actually not that bad. I would however stay away from the food. Why? Well if you wanted fried chicken would you go to an Indian takeaway? Sure they would serve up some greasy chicken wings but the quality will be shoddy because that isn’t their speciality. Now if you are a foodie, and love food why would you go to a bar or lounge for food? Unless you were starving. This isn’t home cooked food, it isn’t bad, but it isn’t good either. Friend of mine ordered some cheeky chips and Chicken Goujons. I suppose if she had read my review in advance in a time warp she might not have. The chips werent cooked properly and the oil hadn’t been properly filtered, and the chicken goujons… well they were more like small pieces of processed meat, much like the diabolical chicken nugget efforts you get at Maccy D’s which I daren’t go near. Why on earth anyone would eat left over bits from a chicken grinded together and then bread crumbed I shall never ever know. So as I said go here for drinks, leave the food alone. I am however beginning to find out why a lot of people who live in the Wirral and Liverpool visit Manchester so much. I can see myself getting tired of this type of bar if I lived locally. However they do have live music most weeks so the atmosphere probably does improve significantly. I wouldn’t suggest you go out of your way to Wro, but if you are around might as well if live music is on. Otherwise drive on into Liverpool you’ll find a nicer bar there than this, because while there is nothing«WRO“ng with this place. It’s nothing to shout home about either.

The Wro bar is the classiest wine bar in West Kirby and possibly the whole Wirral. I read that last week they won an award for the most professional bar staff on Merseyside, and this shows in the quality of service. The food is fantastic; it’s served fast and the menu changes at least 4 times annually. They have a range of daytime snacks including their legendary home cut ‘Chips and Dips’, a range of sandwiches and Panini’s, three or four different types of burger. They serve a range of draught beers including Budweiser, Staropramen, Becks Vier, Stella Four and Guiness as well as an extensive wine list and a wide range of regular and sort after spirits. They also have a great champagne list. They have several live music nights and throw wine tastings every other month. The staff are great, the food is great and the Wro experience will leave you coming back for more!

The Wro is a small, trendy restaurant/bar in West Kirby on the Wirral. Opened in 2006 on the eve of The Open Golf Championships in Hoylake — five minutes down the road– it immediately attracted sporting celebs and WAGS who were cruising the area. Don’t let that put you off though! You’re as likely to see a table of grannies in there as you are to see students, business types and ‘ladies who lunch’. What they all have in common is they appreciate good food in stylish surroundings. In this warm and friendly environment the food is always excellent. The chips(proper chunky, freshly cut variety) and dips are to die for, served with three different sauces: brilliant barbeque, great garlic and super sweet and sour! The soup is genuinely ‘homemade’ and always delicious — particularly the mushroom. The food is always fresh, well presented and tasty, and the portions generous. Not the place to eat if you’re in a hurry, the service at The Wro can be slow at busy times. But apart from that it is a super restaurant!!! Try the malteser slice with a cappaccino… yummee!
