Ándele

Un buen lugar si te gusta la comida mexicana. Además su ubicación es perfecta ya que está muy cerca de los Cines Cinesa Diagonal.
No me voy a alargar mucho sobre qué elegir. Siempre que voy me pido lo mismo y nunca sales decepcionado. Unos nachos (grandes para dos personas), pollo chipotle (ligeramente picantito). Para beber, hay dos fases: con los nachos un margarita (el de cocktelera; uno de los mejores de Bcn) y una michelada de cerveza negra bien picantita. La fase final; una heladito de mango con tequila. Esa combinación dulcita con el toque amargo alcohólico, me apasiona.
El servicio es rápido. El precio es 25 – 30 € por persona. Te suelen dar unos vales descuento para la próxima vez que asistas al restaurante.

Al medio día, la taquiza. Un poco de todo. Vale la pena… Luego, los precios de la carta son un pelín caros…

Update from today’s visit:
I’m never coming here again! It’s overpriced and just not that good. I asked for some hot sauce to go with my order — they brought a dish of chipotle salsa and neglected to tell me it was gonna be 2 Euros. The nachos my mom had which were to come with refried beans barely had a smearing of them under all the chips. If you’re really desperate for Mexi food, it might be ok. But really — it’s not. I had the carnitas, which were ok — but for the price of 7.40 + 2 for the salsa — No way.

Now that I’ve learned how to order Mexican food in Spain, I don’t suffer from as much disappointment as before.
This location of Andele (it is a chain) has a sizable covered patio which faces onto the walkway that affords a decent amount of people watching. It’s just upstairs from the DiR Diagonal & the Cinemas, and downstairs from the fancy Nuba Lounge — so depending on the time, you’ll get an interesting mix of athletic types, teens, couples on dates… and people from the neighborhood.
As for the food:
I ordered the «al pastor» plate, which came with black beans & guacamole; and an order of pico de gallo on the side. It was pretty good. though the al pastor was a bit on the oily/​greasy side.
I learned to stop trying to order anything with tortillas, because I’ve come to learn that the best tortillas in Spain will never come close to the mediocre ones in Los Angeles.
You can also buy Cholula there… and chile de arbol… these two things make having an Andele nearby totally worthwhile.

Solía ir a este restaurante, antes estaba muy bien, los precios eran mejores… Ahora la calidad a bajado bastante y ha subido el precio. El servicio es bastante agradable.
Hace poco que fui, y la comida era correcta pero yo creo que no se correspondía con el precio. Si vas a comer a un restaurante Mexicano hay mejores. Aunque la ubicación es muy favorable.
