Donut man was so good! Recommend the ‘couples box’ that comes with two donut men. Tourist friendly bakery, plenty of treats on display and they make an excellent cup of coffee. It’s got a retro feel of a mom & pop and situated perfectly to catch the morning hustle and bustle of barca.

The cakes and sandwiches at this place are really good. Especially the cakes, they are very sweet, colourful, full of sugar and exactly the kind of thing I like! I usually just get takeaway at a different branch but this morning I had breakfast. I had a toasted croissant with ham and cheese and a café con leche. Unfortunately the coffee was too strong for me and I couldn’t finish it. I sat outside and the seats and tables were clean but really uncomfortable. They were made out of metal and the seats had no cushioning. It wasn’t the kind of furniture you could relax on! Also the woman at the counter was a bit abrupt with me when I couldn’t understand something she said. She was very friendly later on though so maybe it was just a bad moment? But between that, the coffee that I couldn’t finish and the really uncomfortable outside seating it loses two stars.

They have great desserts /pastries. The two ladies working behind the counter were so nice as well. Went on a mid-later night(9pm) to get an after-dinner snack and to catch up on conversation. Tasty, good atmosphere, good service — great for talking. Go! Cronuts are good too :)

This place is super cute. The carrot cake that it’s only 1.90 euro is yummy! The 2 sisters that work there are so sweet. I want to go back and try the chocolate walnut cake as well

I was really hungry on a weekday late afternoon, and I didn’t want any more patatas bravas or tapas. I chanced upon this adorable bakery, thanks to walking around with Unilocal’s map and tips. Little gingermen greeted me at the door on this cold hungry rainy day. A wide selection of pastries, from sweet cookies, cupcakes, to savory bagels, sandwiches, was delightfully arranged around the counter. I settled for the smoked salmon bagel, and it was delicious! I loved how the bagel was not too dense, it was nice and chewy. The smoked salmon was chilled, very delicious; salad was just right. Definitely a surprise because I didn’t see much smoked salmon products around Barcelona. The tables are small, and there are some booths. It could get cosy when the place is crowded. Luckily, it was a decent group of customers enjoying their afternoon when I visited. I’ll definitely come by for some snack or pastries when I pass by Diagonal and Passieg Gracia next time!

Cure Little pastry bakery with donuts that look like gingerbread men. It is a small shop with large charm. It was cool inside, however, the smell of warm sugar was inviting. The customer service was really sweet and the prices were decent.

I saw a little glazed donut man in the window with his friends and I had to get him. So I did. And then I ate him. He was delicious. Perfectly glazed and frosted and as fresh as a donut can be. The shopkeeper that sold him to me was very friendly as well. Overlooking my lack of ability in speaking Spanish.

We’ve been walking by this bakery almost every day for a week and I keep pulling the spouse’s shirtsleeve, saying(casually at first but over the days becoming more of a demand), Those People Doughnuts Look Good, and finally, we had a day where lunch was inadequate and we were both hungry and it was too early to eat dinner and suddenly there we were, inside Boldú. Because I’d been fixated on these doughnuts for so long, and everyone else in front of us was indecisive, we moved straight to the front of the line and were rewarded with our choice of people doughnuts(fortunately, only one of us chose fresa or this would not have been the case for the one who chose chocolate. The doughnuts are actually quite good, besides being adorable and enough food to feed a family or four. They are dense, just sweet enough, not greasy, enrobed in a slightly odd frosting. My doughnut was perfect but Mr. Fresa was missing an arm. What we liked was that the bakery had smothered Mr. Fresa with extra frosting to make up for the missing limb. Very thoughtful. I hope to return to this bakery and try some of the other cakes and treats. Everything looks fresh and the counter staff are as friendly and efficient as can be.
