We were a group of 6 desperately looking for good food after a full day of road trip and café tomate next to our hotel and it turned out to be a great decision. We loved the chicken croquette, kalamari and the potato with herbs in the tapas section and the coque with walnuts, caramalized onion, pesto and artichoke was a perfect dish for the vegetarians! The carrot soup was a good choice as well! Overall great food!

Ate from main menu not tapas. Food is ok. Prices on high side of reasonable. Friendly staff. Had paella which was too salty. Glass of wine which wasnt the smoothest. TV on all the time with non stop music videos did drive me nuts. Located on a busy road with an enclosed-​ish terrace. Not the best for families as no space for smaller children to mooch about safely given the proximity to busy junction. Nice enough but not as good as I was expecting from the reviews.

Dimos con este restaurante por casualidad, pues esta cerca de nuestro hotel. Ha sido una grata sorpresa. La calidad de los alimentos y el sabor son muy buenos, como en un restaurante de mucho mayor precio. Hasta ahora la mejor relación calidad Vs precio que hemos encontrado en Barcelona. Lo recomiendo ampliamente. Seguro volveremos en otra visita que hagamos. Venimos desde México.

Local cuisine, great value for money and friendly environment. Nothing fancy, but worth stopping by.
I’d give this place 5 stars if it wasn’t for the clueless waiter, who screwed up our order several times.
Daily menu for around 16 € (taxes and drink included) with great food. Not terribly original, but definitely above average. Portions are big, don’t plan to eat more than the menu.
My top picks were the tuna tataki and beef, with honorable mentions for the rices. A nice detail is that the menu included the traditional pan con tomate.
I’ll be coming back for a casual lunch with family or friends, hoping for a more attentive waiter.

Great food with fun and friendly atmosphere with local Catalonians! Price is very reasonable and we Absolutely loved hanging out at the restaurant after an exhausting day of walking and exploring the city — it was just around the corner from our NH Hotel!

We were staying in a hotel near Tomate in Barcelona and ate there just because it was pooring. But what a surpise, the staff is extremely friendly and the food is excellent.
My husband an I both had a massive green salad as a starter and for main course my husband had the seafood Paella which was delicious. I had the entrecôte which also was to die for! It was served with fresh fries and green fried peppers.
We for sure will go back there to taste more of their great food and enjoy their hospitality.

We went to café Tomate, my wife and i and we order a paella and a bottle of Riojas. The sea. Food paella for 2 was great. We found very friendly ambiance, and the staff very kind. We enjoy very much.

Es un buen lugar para tomarse unas tapas y unas cañitas. El pan con tomate, vale la pena, cada quien se lo hace, como debe ser! Los calamares a la romana están muy bien y en los días de fútbol se pasan los partidos en una pantalla que queda muy bien. De precio, una de sus mejores características y la atención, muy buena!
