We came here for dinner one night after our hotel recommended this place because we wanted really good paella. Located off of the tourist traps it is a nice place to go to wind down after a hectic day. Large restaurant that overlooks the water. We arrived around 8pm and surprise surprise there was only one other group of diners. I don’t like being the only ones but they were super attentive to us. We had our water/sangria poured for us frequently and they changed our plates after each set of food. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, all pretty tasty. The highlight of our meal was the paella. It was so tasty. If you don’t like savory/salty then paellas are not the right thing for you to order. It is suppose to be very flavorful and savory. Also the rice had the perfect amount of crunch to it. Thinking of their paella right now.

Everywhere you go in Barcelona, sexy ham(jamón ibérico). Seriously, this country is my kind of heaven! I honestly thought this place was just okay overall. The food is decent but nothing outstanding, and definitely overpriced. I’m not sure why the locals all recommend this restaurant; maybe they think tourists will dig it. The main attraction is the **Seafood Paella**. The rice itself may seem to be a bit undercooked, but we were told that’s the authentic Spanish way of making paella. It was decent but we actually found better paella at some local mom and pop places. Three of us shared some smaller plates since we weren’t too hungry. We had, of course, the **Jamón Ibérico**(one of the main themes of my Spain experience) and I was happy yet again! You would think someone would eventually get used to it, but not I! This dish came with tomato rubbed bread. We also had the **Scallop Croquettes** which were tasty but not many in number(six to be exact). Finally we tried the **Salmon Carpaccio**, which was fresh but very unfortunately doused in a vinaigrette sauce that way overwhelmed the flavor of the salmon. One more round of Jamón Ibérico and were good to go! My only other qualm with this place was the service. While the waiters eagerly assisted our group’s larger tables, they practically ignored us until we flagged them down. They must have been thinking«mo money, mo table». DATETIP: As you’ve seen, most of my Spain review date tips are related to meat. This is no exception. The jamón here is excellent and will win ‘em over for sure!

So far this has been the worst dining experience we’ve had in Barcelona. We decided to eat dinner here on the way to another restaurant but felt the view and ambiance looked better. The best thing we had tonight was the gazpacho which is hard to mess up. The cod fritters, hot grilled vegetables, tuna carpaccio, and baked monkfish with potato, tomato, and onion were all massively underwhelming. For each dish, there was food left over because it was so unappetizing. The eggplant was bitter and not marinated adequately. The cod fritters had more batter than fish. The capers/olives on the tuna carpaccio overwhelmed the tuna. The monkfish was overcooked. While we had attentive service when we first arrived around 8:00 pm, by 9:00 — 9:30 pm it was nearly impossible to catch the eye of a waiter. We waited for 15 – 20 minutes to get any kind of service.
