Dolç i Salat

En mi búsqueda constante por encontrar la mejor cheesecake del mundo caí en este sitio, y he de decir que no sé si será la mejor mejor del mundo… Pero está cerca.
Este local es super acogedor, perfecto para tomarte una infusión y una porción de tarta espectacular!

Hoy vine a buscar los mejores cannoli de barcelona. El sitio es pequeño pero la calidad es brutal. Para desayunar o merendar. Si hay cannoli perfecto, sino cualquiera de sus tartas o dulces. a 100m del mercado de Santa Caterina…

Este lugar es perfecto para tomar un café por la mañana, en el finde y quedarse a desayunar. El servicio es un poquito lento, cada vez que voy está muy lleno y todo lo que sirven es hecho ahí mismo.
Con un ambiente sumamente acogedor, con música que suena directamente de un vinilo en la esquina de la estantería llena de todos los tipos de tés, en Dolç i Salat puedes quedarte toda la mañana sin darte cuenta, leyendo tu libro favorito o compartiendo con un buen amigo, o tu pareja.
Tienen un menú variado de bocadillos con mucha influencia italiana, y muchos pasteles de los cuales probar, les recomiendo el de pera y nutella para saciar un buen antojo dulce. También una napolitana de pistacho y nata, está delicioso!

My best friend and I stumbled upon this treasure while roaming around. It’s small with limited seating. The lady working there is the chef, waitress, cashier and host all in one. We had some of the berry crumble pie. It was so good we came for seconds. Actually he ate most of it so I had to get another one. The price for both slices was 5 euro. The place has a record player and some vinyl records. They had The Drive soundtrack, however, the demographic in the eatery at the time may have not been down with that.
The lady working there was over whelmed and consistently rushing to get things done with no help. She did manage, however, there was a level of patience from us.
She was very inviting and super sweet.

This bakery/​café is an extension of the Italian restaurant Le Cucine Mandarosso, which is just a couple short blocks away. Like the restaurant, they have some very authentic and tasty baked goods and Italian espresso drinks (unlike most places in Barcelona, they actually know what a macchiato is here! The closest thing to it at Catalan cafes is a cortado).
The bakery doesn’t really have the capacity to be a stand-​alone facility; I’ve seen staff carrying stacks of plates from the restaurant to the bakery, and I think the staff themselves are simply staff of the restaurant who are assigned to the bakery for some of their shifts. The bakery kitchen is tiny & cramped, and the staff never seem to be fully trained or know what’s going on. I’ve been charged different prices for the same thing by different staff, and there’s often a huge stack of dirty dishes on the kitchen counter.
For this reason, I typically avoid it unless I’m craving a particular Italian pastry or Italian espresso. However, if you don’t mind the general disorganization, it’s a cute place to sit and sip on an espresso while reading and watching passers-​by.
That’s definitely the main attraction for me: great for people-​watching! The street traffic (mostly pedestrian) provides a fantastic sampling of daily life in Barcelona. The shop’s front wall is all windows; when the weather is nice, the front wall is opened up and the café is open to the street. When the weather is too cold, you can still cozy up with a nice book and get a great view of the street life, so it never feels too cramped in there despite the small size of the shop.

Ahora en serio, es un sitio genial con apenas tres mesas y dos «butacas» de madera tipo teatro en la puerta, a pie de calle, que lo hacen inconfundible. Está un poco más arriba del Mercat de Santa Caterina y suele sonar muy buena música y en vinilo.
Propuesta al aire. Sábado sabadete en el que te levantas a una hora poco decente para una persona de bien. Bajas al mercado, compras un poco de pescado, aunque no sea el mejor día, y unas verduritas (que entre semana no te cuidas) y te acercas al Dolç i Salat. Tiras un par de fotos a dos detalles que no habías visto entre sus mil cositas monas en las estanterías y paredes mientras la chica (muy maja ella) te sirve un zumo de naranja y una quiche de puerros deliciosa. Suena Nina Simone. Desayunas y te lees el periódico. Vuelves a casa a cocinar y te pasas la tarde sonriendo, como no puede ser de otra manera, que es sábado.
Los dulces de todo tipo son lo mejor, avisado quedas.
