Very knowledgeable staff. Came by to pick up a Cuban to enjoy while on vacation and was not disappointed with the recommended cigar. Highly recommended stop for all your cigar needs while in Barcelona!

I agree with all the other reviews. If you’re an American strolling down La Rambla stop in and get a few Cubans. They have them all, and the prices are fixed by the Spanish government so you won’t over pay. Try the Por Laranaga Spanish Regional edition. They’re great.

Gimeno is one of the cigar shops in Barcelona that was recommended on a number of the cigar forums. It is located on La Ramblas which is one of the most congested and touristy streets that I have ever seen. On first glance it did not appear to be much of a tobacconist with more FC Barcelona and tourist crap than anything else but on closer inspection they carried a pretty good selection of Habanos in a well kept humidor upstairs and a bigger, also well maintained humidor downstairs. The guys that work at Gimeno are friendly but once they realize that you know cigars they are much more helpful and more than willing to search downstairs for aged or additional stock. On the second visit they brought me up a sealed box of Trinidad Fundadores with a box code from 2005 that were fairly amazing with eight years of box age. Besides the regular production Habanos they also had a good selection of the Regional Edicions for Spain and the Edicion Limitadas from the past few years. Even if you know little to very little about Cuban cigars but want to try one I would strongly recommend that you visit Gimeno while in Barcelona. On the counter they have have price lists for their inventory and are more than happy to recommend a good cigar that will suit your taste and price point. Prices in Spain are government regulated so they are the same at all tobacconists plus tobacco taxes are low so prices of Habanos are less than any of the other European countries. Overall Gimeno has a very convenient location, good customer service but only wish that they had a little bit broader variety of Habanos.

Any American cigar smoker visiting Europe will quickly realize that stogies just aren’t as popular in Europe as they are in the states. Oh sure you can find stores selling them, but not with the enormous walk-in humidors which we are used to. They are usually more of a side-line. That’s why I was so glad I managed to find Gimeno! This was probably the best selection of cigars I managed to find in all of Spain. The prices were quite reasonable, and the staff was very helpful. It’s conveniently located on La Rambla near the Mercado. Muchas garcias Gimeno!

This place was cigar heaven for a weary tourist like me. Location is good right on La Rambla. They have a great variety of smokes, ask the staff about cigars and they’ll point you to their resident expert. They have handy paper charts with all of the brands and vitolas they stock so you can browse at your leisure and make selections. Their cigar guy was friendly and knowledgeable, willing to answer any questions(in Spanish) and point me to some good stuff I might have overlooked, including some excellent aged stock they have in the back of the humidor. They also stock all of the Spanish Regional Edition cigars so I picked those up as well. Outside of the humidor it’s a standard smoke shop with a good selection.
