Ideal Restaurant

Saw a nice ad while walking past this place with a friend and he insisted we go inside to eat. There was one server inside who ran the place like a boss without breaking a sweat, hence the one star given. Was going to order the advertised special but other guests were saying it was a no-​go and their portions were small. We ended up ordering pastas and neither of us wanted finish because it was worse than a TV dinner that cost ¹⁄₁₅^th the price. Though the location is great, the food here isn’t.

While in Spain I ate that this restaurant. It is located on la rambles and has a great seating area outside. We started off with a bottle of rose and a plate of three small tapas. The tapas were small but tasty. After I had pasta for my main course. The pasta was the best I tried in Spain and my boyfriend really enjoyed the seafood paella he ate.
I personally would recommend this restaurant.

Don’t let their «3 tapas +paella or pasta or pizza» fool you. These guys aren’t Spanish, they don’t know what tapas are.

After wandering Spain for almost a week, my family and I were lucky enough not to drop into a tourist trap restaurant that wasn’t at least decent. Ideal restaurant had the honor of being the first sub par meal I had in Spain. After leaving Kubik’s due to an extremely rude waiter, we stopped by ideal restaurant lured by the paella + tapas deal. But it only included non-​seafood paella and had tiny tapa portions, so we decided to get a seafood paella, chicken paella, endives, and small octopi tapas.
The food was underwhelming. Rice tasted undercooked and the endives were gross (drenched in blue cheese). The paella was decently flavored, though. And the small octopi tasted fine as well. Normally it’d be a 3 star in my ratings book but there’s so much good food around Barcelona why bother coming here?
The service was indifferent, lackadaisical if you care about good service. At least it was better than Kubik’s service.

Llegue aquí sin querer porque fue hasta el punto donde no podiamos mas caminar de estar turisteando sobre las ramblas, el puerto, Colón y Pl. Catalunya. Entonces entramos por una promoción muy atractiva que tenían afuera de 3.60 euros, sin embargo no fue lo primero que preguntamos al entrar sino preguntar si aceptaban tarjetas porque afuera no decia nada sobre (welcome cards) y no queriamos pagar con efectivo. Así que primera trampa ya instaladas y todo llega la hora de pedir y el típico gancho que aplican aquí en España es que ya no tienen ese paquete, asi que de entrada ya no vas a pagar 3.60 euroa vas a pagar el triple y porque digo vas a pagar… pues porque recuerden. Cuando llegas a ese punto es porque ya eres un turista cansado, hambriento y sediento que no tienes ganas de decir ok gracias he ir a otro lugar sino de satisfacer tu necesidad. Asi que de los 3.99 nuestra cuenta se elevo a más de 12 euros, el agua de boteĺlita costaba 2.60 y algo la caña que en cualquier lado la vimos en 1.50 pues aqui 4 euros. En fin todo es un engaño y gancho aquí han de pensar que prefieren tener clientes transitorios y así estan bien. También tienen internet wifi gratis que te desconectan cuando quieren a mi me salio un anuncio fuiste desconectado por el administrador de la red. Solo porque ya querían que desocuparamos su mesa, todo muy mal no recomiendo venir aquí.

Worst dining experience of my life. Came here with my boyfriend and the waiter was incredibly rude to not only us, but other tables too. He was even barking at tables to go to another table inside if they weren’t going to order a certain amount of food. I came here to feed the man and did not order because of my vegetarian diet. He had the «3 tapas and pallea» deal which was no deal at all. The rice dish was barely edible and the tapas were 3 tiny bites (and you couldn’t even choose your tapas) water was very over priced and because of the server I left angered, offended, and in an overall bad mood.

It was pretty bad. But edible. What enticed us in here was the 7.95 pizza or pasta or paella deal that comes with 3 tapas (found out later this means one piece of 3 different tapas). At this price it’s cheaper than the advertised 9.50 in the menu.
The potatoes with some weird mayo sauce, croquette and some open faced sandwich was less to be desire but ok.
We were craving pizza for a while on this trip so how badly could they really screw it up?
It came and was soggy and tasted really artificial. But edible so it wasn’t that bad. Funny enough during our whole time there tons of people were looking in and at the menu. No one came in though and I wished they stayed far away.
Drinks were pricey compared to European alcohol prices.
Would recommend Artisas just across the ramblas in the entrance of the plaza real.

This was the worst restaurant we visited in Barcelona. The service was terrible and the food overpriced. The waiter was also incredibly rude. Stay away!

It was obviously a restaurant for tourists, but we were hungry and tired of looking for something not to expensive in the centre. Well, maybe we should have tried a bit more! We had the cheap daily menu: «tapas» (3 mini-​incredibly small bites) with paella. The food was ok but nothing more and a bit burnt, the service terrible and the water very expensive.

Fast food corner joint. Have deal for 3 tapas and paella/​pasta/​pizza. We had squid ink paella. Overall small portions, expensive (same price for a lot better quality in restaurants around Port Olympic). Kind of dirty too. Food ok, not great by any means.
