Service defines a new level of slowness, but this is a good bar. Unisex bathroom was interesting. Stay away from the sangria, it’s just like drinking wine through a straw with cut fruit. The house wine is actually quite good.

No tener zumo de manzana lo podía entender, pero no tener ni Red Bull ni Burn?! El bar se separa en el bar y el restaurante, pero en el restaurante no se puede comer de la carta de tapas del bar. El Kebab de pollo pakistani no es el kebab «tradicional», pero bueno, con una salsa un poco picante (aunque el camarero decía que es muy picante) la Cesar no tiene nada que ver, solo lechuga iceberg (no lechuga romana) y una salsa negra?! Y aunque las camas son bonitas, es un poco raro comer y mirar el pie de otro a unos 50 cm No he probado el famoso mojito de fresa pero los cocktailes que los he probado eran buenas

Seit einiger Zeit immer auf unserer «Agenda», wenn wir in Barcelona sind, ist das La Fianna im Born. Lieblingsgericht: Grünes Curry (Ja, das gibt’s hier, obwohl wir nicht von einem Thailändischen Restaurant reden.) Davor ein gut gemixter Caipi — perfekt.
Darüber hinaus bietet die Speisekarte natürlich Fisch und Fleisch oder Paella.
Die Location ist zentral, dennoch ab vom Mainstream, beschäftigt sympatisches Personal, ist moderat bepreist und dem Touristen nicht soooo geläufig. Als mediterran würd’ ich es eher nicht beschreiben. Mediterran ist doch hell und freundlich, lichtdurchfluted.
Das Witzige am Interieur ist die Tatsache, dass man liegend auf thailändischen Polstern chillen und essen kann. Also: man kann, mir ist das zu unbequem. Fehlt nur noch die Schischa, aber Rauchen ist verboten.
Das Publikum ist eher jünger (uns hat unser Sohn die Location gezeigt), aber das Restaurant ist derart dunkel, dass unser Alter zum Glück nicht auffällt. Inzwischen habe ich diverse Freunde aus Barcelona, wenn wir uns treffen, hierher gelotst: alle begeistert. Und wie so oft: da muss erst der Tourist daher kommen, um dem Einheimischen seine Perlen zu zeigen…
Ich sag’s besser gleich: es ist soooo extrem dunkel in diesem Restaurant, dass man schon die ganz gute Brille braucht. Bei einer Bar ok, aber bei einem Restaurant…
Anyway: für uns als Barcelona Stammgäste eine immer wieder gut gelittene Adresse, jenseits von Tapas.

Stumbled across this place and lucky we did! The interior looks awesome with a dark cool ambiance. We ordered a pitcher of sangria cava that was quite delicious and worth the price. We also ordered the vegetables with goat cheese, 4 cheese ravioli and chicken curry. Everything was delicious! Definitely recommend this place. We came here on a Wednesday night so we had no trouble getting a table, not sure about the weekend crowd.

Local perfecto para cenar y para tomar unas copas despues. Tiene dos salas separadas una para comer y la otra para divertirse. Con un ambiente calido, con poca luz y la poca que hay es roja-​tenue. Apartir de las 23h hay un dj que le proporciona ritmo al loca, para que la gente deje de lado su monotona vida y pueda disfrutar de unos mojitos de medio litro o de cualquier bebida. sentados en unos sillones o mesas altas con taburetes o sofas-​camas para estar mas relajados.

Cuando estaba en la calle Banys Vells me apasionaba entrar en ese lugar. Ahora que cambió su ubicación me cuesta más.
Decir que aquí hacen unas quesadillas de lujazo y los Cocktail también están muy ricos, mi preferido (mítico) es el Sex On The Beach. Y mi perdición, su RIQUISIMO postre Coulant!!! Diría que es el mejor de BCN.

Tienes que probar el mojito de fresa! (Vaso grande 7,5 euros aprox.) Y ojo con pedir mucha comida que la cuenta sube.
Puntos fuertes:
— Localizacion (cerca del borne y del metro Jaume 1).
— La comida es de primera calidad.
— La carta de cocteles (el mojito y el mojito de fresa son espectaculares).
— Camas disponibles para tumbarte y comer/​tomar algo.
Puntos débiles:
— El precio, es bastante caro (el agua vale 3 euros por ejemplo y el menú de grupo 30 euros).
— Luminosidad (es un local bastante oscuro).
— El olor: han cambiado de local hace poco y la última vez que fuí todavía olía a nuevo.
— Para reservar creo que se necesita tarjeta de crédito o depósito.

Go here for the ambiance. It’s a dark bar with comfy seats that is great for spending the time conversing with friends. I’m not a big fan of the drinks, but then again I’m not a big mojito person either. During the week it’s also fairly easy to walk right in and get a table.

The ambience is dark and borderline burlesque, mostly because there’s a part of the bar that has elevated beds.
I’m not here to review the sexy time I went on a date at this dimly-​lit bar in Barcelona (I’m sure you’re thinking, «Which one?»), but instead, all the times I went here with my girlfriends to get the best strawberry mojitos in town. The food was fine, nothing impressive in particular. The service – on less busy nights – was commendable and ‘friendly’ (loose term in España). There is plenty of space, but also plenty of people – so come early.
But like I said before: Strawberry mojitos! They’re 7 – 8 euros a pop, but my friends and I came here so often that we stopped getting lost in el Born (miracles do happen).

Saturday night — it was packed!

Me llevaron a la Fianna porque no sé quién les había recomendado que fuéramos. Yo, con dos cervezas encima me dejo convencer de lo que sea, con lo cual, allí que nos fuimos.
El lugar parece pequeño, pero como está construido en «L», de repente te encuentras con que es mucho más grande lo que parece. Es más bien oscuro y lo que más llama la atención son las lámparas que cuelgan del techo y los espacios lounge llenos de cojines rollo marroquí. Esto último es muy cómodo para tumbarse pero no para beber… y mucho menos para plantarle el queso descalzo al vecino y que el mojito te huela a pieses.
2,50 € la cerveza es un precio aceptable en este barrio, así que tampoco vamos a quejarnos, pero el servicio es lento y los camareros bastante pasotas. Naturalmente se equivocaron con la cuenta a nuestro favor y nosotras «que si quieres arroz, Catalina». Una divinidad.

Por el nombre, siempre me dio la impresión de que debía ser un restaurante italiano… Pero no. Resulta que el nombre es de orígen gaélico, que la ambientación del local tiene un rollito más bien de inspiración medio-​oriental, y que la carta mezcla referencias culinarias japonesas, marroquíes y tailandesas.
Uno de los apectos más curiosos de la ambientación, es que el local cuenta con una especie de reservados en forma de altillo acolchado, donde uno puede encaramarse a cenar, descalzo, frente a un plato gigante de metal en lugar de mesa. Muy recomendable para los que estén aburridos de comer en una posturas cómodas.
Mitad del local actúa también como bar de copas, donde hacen unsos cocktails muy ricos. Lástima del abarrotamiento de gentehabitual y de algún camarero un poco gil.

La Fianna es un reconocido bar chill out de moda. Allí mismo puedes cenar o ir a beber algún cocktail a la barra. Una barra amplia que se lleva algo de particular. Los camareros y camareras van y vienen con el doble de energía. Nadie queda inmóvil. Si tienes ganas ahí puedes probar el mousse de foi con compota de ciruelas y reducción de oporto. ¡Mmmm riquísimo! Seguro que te encuentras con gente interesante. Lo más fácil para encontrarlo es caminar hasta la Iglesia Santa María del Mar y luego como quien mira de frente a la iglesia, tomar la calle de mano izquierda, y de ahí en más a dos calles a la izquierda encontrarás el paraíso La Fianna sobre la Calle Banys Vells. Muchos dicen que La Fianna es una cita obligada. No lo dudes, ve a disfrutarlo. Voilà!

I would definetly recommend La Fianna, the tapas there are very good and well priced. The ambience is really relaxing and it is far enough from the main street so tourists are scarce. Here is a good article I found on La Fianna with a few good tips:

La Fianna has now moved. Its only a mere 100 yards away but new address is Carrer de Manressa, No 4. Situated in a great area of the Born in the heart of Barcelona with plenty of local patrons this place was a find, albeit it took me about 30 minutes to find the place. Google map it and you shall find but print it off so you dont get lost like i did. Truly this place was so great, I did not want to leave nothing to do with the pint sized mojitos or beautiful and interesting people to be viewed. The menu was excellent with rich flavoured dishes to suit most tastes. The Carpaccio of beef with rocket and Parmesan melted in my mouth and the infamous chocolate coolant was delicious. The place was buzzing from when we got there and we did not leave till about 1.30. Congrats to you whomever you are, good job, nice staff, good food and tremendous atmosphere. One of my favorite places in the Born! A classic in the area. Cool crowd, great staff, yummy bar bites!

This place is in the heart of El Borne, the most popular drinking area amongst young trendy Catalans. The area per se is gorgeous– it is basically the heart of the city i.e. the old part of town. It is fun getting lost on the small cobbled streets that will suddenly spill onto a stunning ancient piazza. Try and make your own way to this stunning bar which is a true gem. Outside the door it has real fire lanterns which will guide you to the entrance and the interior is a treat to the eyes. It is decorated in the most stunning dark velvety reds and dark wood and raw stone walls. There are comfy sofas on which people literally like down they are that comfy! Or you can stand at the bar if you are in the mood for a more buzzing atmosphere or indeed take a seat in the beautiful restaurant and have a bite to eat, where believe it or not, there is a lot more to chose from– not just tapas!
