Very touristy, but good food overall. We were able to get a table at 8:30 with no wait. € 1,75 /pintxio. Some are good, some are not. Choose wisely!

This was actually our 2nd time to eat here: the first being 2 days ago for late brunch/early lunch. The spread that morning is what you see in the pictures I posted, fresh and a more extensive selection. The nighttime spread was less, though not in flavor nor desirability haha As we went for a second round they graciously brought out a few new dishes of hot tapas, the ones we got were the mushroom & ham pizza and a chorizo with fried green pepper both very good and satisfying! Service like the first time was quick & helpful, offering our beverages immediately as we sat and coming to check on us when needed. The only reason I gave them 4 was the less selection at night. Other than that we were happy with our dining experience hence, our return.

When figuring out what to eat in Barcelona, my friend said that perhaps we should try Pintxos, a type of basque tapa. He said that it was slightly different as everything was on bread and a stick and you just eat what you like and count up the sticks and pay. It sounded interesting, so we wandered around until we found this place. It looked good, so we waited for a seat. The food was really quite good. It’s fun to be able to go and look at what you might like and give it a try. It can get out of hand because you can just continue eating, but eventually you do get full and give up. I had a variety of Pintxos, most of them with fish or cheese. They also had some that looked like miniature sandwiches or stuffed inside miniature croissants. We ordered the traditional white wine that one drinks with Pintxos and were quite happy with that as well. It’s a fun concept and the service was pretty spot on. Definitely enjoyed it and we saw while we were there that they opened one up in London which we will definitely be checking out in the near future. Bilbao Berria has turned me into a Pintxos lover!

The paella was slimy. The crab tapas was a little crusty because it was covered in mayonnaise and was sitting out a little too long. The tomato/prosciutto/egg/caviar tapas was too salty to even eat. The house wine is good and the ambience is nice, so stop in here for a quick drink, but do yourself a favor and skip the tapas. Other places are much better, and this place isn’t so cheap once you start adding everything up. Pass!

Unfortunately, my experience with this place in the peak summer heat has been very different from previous experiences. It’s overcrowded with tourists, the food quality is sub-par(not the best cuts of meat, somewhat undercooked) and it tasted like it had been sitting out for too long, which is probably what happened since it’s served buffet-style and it is HOT in the summer. Also, more than once the server has mis-counted the number of skewers and overcharged me — I don’t know if it’s intentional or just an oversight because they’re rushed, but it’s really not cool. So count your skewers before the server tallies them for the bill and make it clear that you’re checking their math.

I love these types of tapas where you pick and choose what you want. Wish we had this here in Las Palmas. They have a beautiful selection of tapas for a really reasonable price. And a nice selection of wines. We were lucky to find a seat, as the place was pretty full. The food was awesome, I would happily come back here upon a return to barcelona!

The restaurant is basically self-served. You find a table or pick a spot at the bar counter, then you decide what to eat by picking the tapas dishes from the shelves on the bar counter. Each dish has a toothpick. At the end, the waitress counts the number of sticks(each stick is € 1.65) and bill you. Food is excellent, especially you get to try many many dishes. We sampled many tapas and all are excellent.

Talk about eating with your eyes first. When you first get here, there are rows and rows of tapas. You want to try them all because they are so pretty. But this place went beyond the mere meat or fish & cheese on bread. There were lots of those too though(and they were all delicious). Add fried chicken, paella, mini-burgers, varieties of skewered meats/cheese/veggies, clams and multiple desserts. Each tapa was a set price and they count up your skewers at the end of the meal. It was very crowded but we came here twice it was so good! The wait staff were gracious about our minimal Spanish speaking skills and were so nice to us. Bonus: tapas are great meals for Pescaterians(veggies & seafood only). One of my friends on the trip found lots of options here!

Visited this place on a cold night and found the best service I’ve had in Barcelona so far. Of course, there barely is such a thing as service in Barcelona, but hopefully you get my point. The barman was extremely helpful when I asked him for the vegetarian options. The pinxtos are 1.65 which is cheap and there’s a lot of variety. They also have some delicious looking mini desserts that I didn’t get to try. Jesus was our waiter and he was very funny and just seemed to be in an overall good mood. :) I will definitely be going back!

Our apartment is right above Bilbao Berria, so it was convenient for us when we did not want to trek out to our favorite spot. They offer decent pinchos at fair prices, including little mini paella and dessert pinchos all for the same price. Staff can be hit or miss. The guy standing t the door all bouncer like is pretty surly and not very welcoming. There are many options in the area, but we found this to be a good choice for the price and quality.
