Best shisha in town. Nice ambiente. Tried a lot of cafes in Barcelona but never been so satisfied like in this place. Even it is a small place, it is very good. Friendly service. *thumbsup*

Great Sisha, would recommend the mint, watermelon, and lemon combination. Awesome hide out with relaxed vibe. Would come back again! Staff was very friendly and the carrot dip with pita was delicious! This is a fun, different spot to check out.

Came here for a late lunch, on the recommendations of my sister’s friend. This was excellent all-around. Top quality hummus and babaganoush, the bacon wrapped dates were as good as anything, and the halloumi sticks were a find — so good! The prices were reasonable as well, just great all around.

Shisha profesional.

There is very little not to like about Ziryab! I have been to many places for sheesha and this is hands down the best — the most serene, the most inviting, enchanting and ‘out of a classic’ picture kind of place. Nestled in a narrow alley within the gothic district of Barcelona, steps away from the sea yet miles away from all that Gaudi created though perhaps very aptly in Gaudi’s city exhibiting artistic brilliance! Even if you do not smoke, come if only to have a drink on the balcony or the devan and to take in the space. The only regret I had was that the food was not befitting of the place. The hummus and the baba ganoush were good but not great — perhaps better to not be offered than to dilute everything great about this place. The sheesha was good also but then I personally think I make better(if I say so myself:)) and besides the place sets high expectations that are difficult to surpass! All in all I’m in love!

We came here two nights our of our five night stay in Barcelona because we liked it so much! Upstairs, there are hammock seats that we were lucky enough to get one night. The other night we got a comfy couch, which was also great. The drinks here are so good! The sweet Ziryah is like a milkshake, so yummy. The waiters are all really nice and willing to give suggestions. There are a lot of hookah flavors to pick from and we liked all the ones we tried!

Pretty dope and chill spot in Barcelona. Nice and cozy hookah bar. I know my shisha and this place definitely stood up to my expectations. Can get crouded at times but that only makes it cozier

Ziryab is a Lebanese wine bar with one of the most interesting and varied menus in Barcelona. It’s simply amazing all the way ’round. They have a beautiful wine list, and while the prices per glass(~3−5 euros) are more than common Barca table wine, they’re all exceptional. I’ve tried every red they have and haven’t ever come away displeased. The menu is also utterly fantastic. There’s a huge list of unusual dips with flatbreads, meat skewers served in hanging towers and Lebanese originals like hot oriental bread balls stuffed with dates and my personal favorite, bacon-wrapped dates that will kill you with delicious flavors. There’s no going wrong here. Sidenote: The owners and some of the staff here are deaf, which is why they tend to present the specials board visually rather than verbally. It’s another interesting quirk that makes Ziryab all the more memorable.

Delicious food, very attentive service and great atmosphere! My fiancé found this place while we were in Barcelona on vacation and the other Unilocal reviews were spot on! We had tried all the typical tapas of Spain and wanted to try something different. There were really pretty red candles illuminating the alley leading up to the restaurant, so we decided to sit at a small table for two just outside, ordered drinks and 2 tapas: Cleopatra Bacon Dates and Halloumi with Chef’s Pesto. Both were fantastic! We’d never had Halloumi cheese before and it was incredible, with what tasted like a sun-dried tomato based pesto. Of course, the bacon-wrapped dates were a perfect balance of sweet and savory — very big dates — with like a balsamic vinegar drizzle. As for the service, it was the best we’d had in our almost 2 weeks in Spain. Waiters spoke English very well, there were menus in several languages and our waiter came by the table several times to check on us. I would definitely recommend Ziryab to anyone visiting Barcelona, especially if you’re up for trying new and unique dishes. A+++

One of the best meals I had during my week in Barcelona. The«hanging brochette» is an absolute MUST. it was seasoned deliciously and the sauce we got with it – Spicy Muhamarra – just heightened the already delicious taste. My friend also got the Bacon, Caramelised Leek & Goats Cheese Dip with pita to dip, which she loved. I visited with another friend from the United States and the wait staff was very friendly, some of the most friendly we experienced in BCN. Definitely recommend this to anyone visiting. It’s a little difficult to find though… it’s off of a street, down an alleyway. When we were there, there were red roman candles leading to the restaurant.

4.5 review. We were in Barcelona this past weekend as my sister in law had come over for a visit and had yet to see Spain. Always up for any excuse to eat tapas and drink Rioja we decided to hop over for a couple days. The past couple times we have visited Barcelona we have met up with J’s friend who has grown up there. We always defer to him for restaurant selections and they are always nice but not really worth repeating. For this trip we decided to take the reigns. There were several places I was dying to try but I knew with a party of 4 on a Saturday night we might have some trouble. We stopped by the first place and it was jammed wall to wall so we headed for the Gothic Quarter instead. Ziryab was closest so we headed there next. Upon arrival I thought we would be out of luck again because it was quite busy. After checking with the hostess though she thought a table should open up in 20 minutes so we grabbed some vino and sat outside. In less than 20 minutes time we were taken upstairs. The place probably has 12 tables in total but is so cute and has a wonderful atmosphere. I was sad to hear English and not Spanish at the tables nearest us but I guess that is what happens when a place ends up on Tripadvisor and Unilocal :) Having already glanced at the menu online we asked for the Chef’s surprise menu and an order of pan con tomate. Our food arrived in the form of 4 trays with about 7 tapas portions each. Each tray had a bowl of some kind of coconut and sweet potato soup but otherwise each tray was different than the next. There was everything from Spanish marinated cheese and olives and patatas bravas to Middle Eastern tapas like hummous, babaghanoush, and this delicious bacon, leek and goat cheese dip. The presentation was wonderful and I loved the combo of Spanish and Middle Eastern cuisine. The pan con tomate was also great — it came with the tomatoes on the side so you could make your own as you like. The chef menu finished off with a few tiny desserts which included a Catalan pastry, some baklava and randomly a chocolate covered strawberry. Wonderful experience. Wonderful meal. Will come back.

Best hookah EVER!!! Get apple and mint. Great baklava as well, especially loved the chocolate… Duh. We sat outside and had the most wonderful time. Service is impeccable. We didn’t eat, but am sure the food is probably delicious.

Ziryab has quickly become my favorite place in Barcelona. The first time I was drew in by the live music, which only happens on wednesday evening, but then I come back several times ’cause I fell in love with the place. The food and the drinks(try the mojito) are prepared with attention and passion. The selection of wine is good and the beautiful music is carefully hand picked. The staff is very friendly and speaks fluently many languages(english, italian, french among others) so no traveller will feel out of place. To sum it up: if you’ll be in Barcelona, even only for one night, you have to try this place.

Very cozy middle Eastern tapas bar that is hard to find. We would have walked right by if it hadn’t been for the very chatty American hostess standing outside, waiving us in. They have an upstairs and downstairs with brick walls, candle light and a lounge area to smoke hookah. Menu options are very limited, mainly hummus type dips, bacon wrapped dates and such. The house red wine was excellent. The Lebanese red pepper dip was tasty but would have been much better warm, with the pita bread warm as well. This isn’t the place to come to eat, but drinks are great and so is the service.
