If you love smelling like the bottom of an ashtray when you walk out of a bar/​club at 4 in the morning…
THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU!
Tucked away on a quiet street just below two very busy intersections (just below Ave. Diagonal & Sarria) is this place called the Vaqueria — a former barn that, well, if you translate the name to English — a place for cows. It’s kinda awesome in concept.
It’s a restaurant, bar and nightclub all at the same time. And somehow it is exempt from the smoking ban. You can smoke at your table *gag*, smoke on the dancefloor (hey, watch out with that burning cancer stick!), and suck down on a fag whilst sucking down on a cocktail. (in case you can’t tell, I’m not a fan of smoking)
Food: It’s not cheap. the appetizers or firsts are about 10 to 12 EUR. The main courses are anywhere from 17 to 25 EUR… standard typical spanish foods of meats, fish, seafood & potatoes. not much in terms of veggie options. I wasn’t particularly a fan, but that’s just me: I am not really a fan of the «typical Spanish food». I’m sure if you like that type of food, you would enjoy this standard fare.
Décor: Definitely worth checking out. It’s big yet intimate. There’s artwork for sale — but they don’t quite complement the theme of it being a converted barn. The main entrance takes you past the kitchen area, into the bar section, which is bordered with tables on both sides. The next room is the dining room with larger tables, and yes, ashtrays at each one. And then further along is the dj room with the dance floor which starts up at around midnight.
Service: professional & friendly.
On this particular Saturday night, I was the youngest one. by at least 5 years. It was definitely Cougar night. Music selection varied — from 50’s & 60’s rock (James Brown/​Elvis Presley to 70’s disco, cheesy 80’s and maybe something contemporary. Cougarville was getting down.
I’d have had more fun if I wasn’t so nauseated by the smoke…

Rstaurante situado en Barcelona.
Es un lugar muy original, su decoración simula un bonito establo.
Su cocina es tradicional, no hay mucha variedad pero lo que nos ofrecen en carnes, pescados y tapas están muy buenas.
El precio es elevado, pero la verdad es que es un sitio distinto y la verdad es que tanto la comida, la decoración como el servicio está muy bien y eso se paga.
Ideal para ir con amigos y familia.
