Tough one to rate, because I loved its area, décor, & vibe, just that 2 out of the 4 food items were just average… but boy, was the sangria the strongest ever!!! Definitely would come back to get hammered just for this, and dirt, dirt cheap too, considering in a trendy, historic area. The chicken skewers were ok(quite big chunks, moist) but the calamares tasty and some deep fried shrimp & its accompanying mayo dip, absolutely deleesh. Look at these pics, who wouldn’t want to order these lol. I even attached the receipt so I’ll know what to order next time. Area-wise: definitely the spanish flair, a bit gothic with some new. Service, actually, could’ve been nicer but he was efficient haha. Trendy, clean washrooms in the back. This is a great place for a party for sure. Liked its open, long concept. I’ll return.

Stopped by after a great flamenco show down the street! Originally went next door to the pinchos bar but after feeling unsatisfied with the cold average tasting bites, I was drawn in by Lonja’s menu. We probably would’ve gone for the tapas tasting menu(we ended up ordering 4 of the 6) but since we had a few pinchos each next door, we decided to just order less tapas individually. ***Brava spicy potatoes — comes with two sauces drizzles on top. a white one and red spicy one. Very delicious and filling. Saw lots of people order this. ***Tuna belly with green tomatoes, onions, olives and peppers — loved the tomatoes. tuna belly was okay. I thought it would be raw but it was cooked. For some reason, I think tuna tastes better raw. ***Pimento peppers — my FAVORITE! These peppers are not very spicy and extremely addicting. ***Fried squid — expected calamari(does fried squid indicate something else in Spain?) but was more like grilled squid. Squid was very oily and slimy. Couldn’t manage to finish this dish. ***Catalan flatbread — not my favorite as the bread was very hard and not warm. The sauce, which is usually very good, didn’t have much flavor at Lonja. The hostess at the front was so nice! Our waitress was also great. Everyone’s English was decent. something I learned to appreciate traveling in Barcelona. The only thing that could’ve been better was they forgot our squid and it came after we finished everything else. I couldn’t quite communicate to the waitress that we didn’t want it anymore if they hadn’t started cooking it. Overall, great tapas place with lots to sample! Just what we were looking for that night.

We came here for a tapas dinner one night after visiting the Picasso Museum nearby. I have to agree that the prices are bit high for tapas but the quality of food is makes up for it. We waited a while before our waitress to our table since they were short staffed before the peak dinner hour. We ordered 4 tapas with the Catalan tomato bread. The tuna was my favorite by far! I loved the soy sauce dressing and the black sesame. The ham croquettes were mostly potato with only bits of ham. The tomato bread didn’t only had specks of tomato on there compared to what we had the night before. We mistakenly got the chicken nuggets instead of shrimp, but we did get the shrimp at the end. The Camembert cheese was really delicious! The wine was very good as expected. Overall, the food here was just OK… nothing to rave about. The service could be more attentive as opposed to feeling rushed. You may want to choose another place if you’re looking for authentic Spanish tapas.

Sat down, waited 10 minutes. Never even acknowledged our presence… NEXT! I would recommend to move down the road. Didn’t taste the food, so can’t comment.

We came here to sit and drink a little bit while waiting for our reservations at Tapeo. Fairly spacious with lots of seating, it wasn’t as busy as other tapas locations in the vicinity. Our bottle of wine was priced ok. No service really as we were seated at the bar. Bathrooms located in the very back past the bar.

One of the best food experiences I had in Barcelona. Stumbled upon this place while looking for dinner around 10 pm. Very clean and brightly lit, and fast service! Standouts: SANGRIA: we got pitchers of both the red wine and the sparkling(white). Both were delicious and very strong. Careful! BOMBAS: one of the BEST things I’ve ever put in my mouth. Meatball surrounded by potato, deep fried and with a garlic tomato sauce. OMG. We tried finding this in other tapas places but couldn’t. I want to go back to Spain just so I can eat this. SEAFOODPAELLA: Outstanding, and a huge portion. We ordered the 2-person portion to share with 4 people, and it was still massive! I’m not a huge fan of rice but I couldn’t stop stuffing my face with the paella. Wish it had more prawns/shrimp but overall it was great. CROQUETTES/KROKETS: Dutch staple done very well here. They tasted as fresh as a croquette could taste(after being deep fried. lol) and I think they said something about the ham being handmade here(or something). PATATASBRAVAS: We ordered this everywhere we went. Outstanding. Overall good service and great prices for quality food. and convenient location in the Born district, near the Picasso museum. Wish I could come back sooner than later! Dreaming about this food every night. Much love from California!

With the likes of Xampanyet 10 mts away this is a restaurant that Libes of the people that Xampanyet cannot accommodate. Quite expensive for tapas, food was not bad, but 4.70 euro for patatas bravas tells it all…

Really great tapas and good value for the quality. We particularly like the fried baby lamb ribs, the fried sardines, and the truffled eggs with bacon.

The very decent 10 $ menu del dia for lunch is what we went here for. It was a three course meal(first course, main dish, dessert) with bread and drink included. The gazpacho was excellent, with no cream in this one, in a rather large bowl. Croquetas were also very good, having tried many throughout Madrid and Barcelona. I chose the sea bream over potatoes for the main course, which was a whole fish and very substantial. Potatoes were delicious. Everything was plated nicely as well. The Crème brûlée was subpar, but overall this was a great meal for 10 $. (+) gazpacho (+) croquetas

Good tapas but what? The tomato-bread is not courtesy of the house and you have to pay for it?

Great tapas place, more restaurant style vs many of the bar style tapas places. Very nice ambiance, quick service.

Came here twice, the first time was because it was the only place open after 4pm and we were starving… We found the tapas to be delicious(see pics). Calamari, pasta tags bravas, beans with chorizo and pan con tomate… Yum! Great service and drink selection, they make a good sangria and mojito too. Also, FYI they take Discover card which wasn’t easy to find(Discover card doesn’t charge you the 3%conversion). The second time we had a prefix lunch, it was mostly good but not as good as the tapas, price was good and came with delish cava. They also have a lot of room for big parties if you need. The location is super convenient, right nearby the Picasso museum.

Stumbled upon this place when me and my friend wanted to go to Tapeo anem de tapes next door, which is closed on Mondays. This was our first tapas experience, and we were pleasantly surprised by their tasting menu and their level of service. For 18 euros a person, you can get the tasting menu which comes with at least 8 different plates. I say at least because we got 3 extra plates for free, which was great but completely unnecessary because we were beyond stuffed by the time we had tasted all the plates in our menu. My absolutely favorite tapas that I still dream about: –Catalan beans. Never thought I could like beans so much. –Patatas bravas. We had this dish at 2 other tapas places in Barcelona and I’ve got to say that Lonja de Tapas does it best. The sauces were phenomenal! Also loved the staff. Being amateurs, we didn’t think the tasting menu would fill us up, so we tried to order a paella to go along with it. The waiter chuckled and told us that it’s a loooot of food and that we wouldn’t need the extra dish, and I’m so glad he did because he was so right! Next time, I’d order the tapas individually instead of the tasting menu, because to be honest a couple of items on that menu were good but not that great. I’m glad I tried it though because I would never have tasted the perfection that is catalan beans otherwise.
