El arroz estuvo formidable! Muy buen sazón! Las entradas no me hicieron del todo feliz, ósea si estuvo bien pero no delicioso, pero el plato fuerte fue de lujo.

This is hands down one of the best mid budget restaurants in barcelona. We had the lobster paella and the navajas as an appetizer! great experience!

Had salmon which was ok. Squid was a bit chewy. After a long day walking/exploring we were so hungry and it did the job but I didn’t stand out as amazing. Best part about it is the location. It is in the middle of a plaza so you have a nice view while dining. Try to get there a little before the dinner rush(a little before 9pm) else you may end up waiting a bit for an outdoor seat.

Oh yeah! The best paella in Plaza Real Barcelona.

Good thing I didn’t read reviews here first because I’m glad we went and after a week in Spain enjoyed one of our best meals. Went kind of early 830. Smell of cooked seafood was everywhere and people had these big pots of seafood on their tables. We were intrigued and decided not to wait in line for Quince Nix. Plenty of seating and our waitress was very nice. Fresh oysters were intimidating because normally we don’t like the giant ones but they were sweet and tender. Arroz negra was wonderful. Perfectly cooked rice and seafood and wasn’t overly salty like so much of the food we’ve tried so far. Had wonderful live music outside and acrobatic performance to watch while dining outside. Perfect amount of food and overall very nice experience. I wonder who is the mean waitress everyone talks about because we had several people help us and it was great.

Just ok. The couple next to me did not like their grilled sea bass at all. My grilled salmon was decent. It was a nixe atmosphere being right on the square, but the service was horrendous. I had to wait 15 minutes for the waiter to give me my check and then another 20 for him to give me my change as he forgot that i was still there. Does not make you feel that special. They did the same thing to the couple next to me so they felt equally un special.

Nope. We walked in because we didn’t know where else to go. I wish we had just gone home. Mean waitress– lots of attitude, slow service– practically threw our coffees at us :( Food was ok. Same taste can be found with better service on the other side of Las Ramblas. Gosh.

Sorry guys, another one that just doesn’t hold it’s weight. If you’re looking for the epitome of mediocre paella, this might be your place. Subpar food with a really nice people watching location seems be to popular in Barcelona, so add this place to the list. We had a meal here, seafood paella, and left feeling like, what a waste. Guess next time we’ll be more choosy with the seafood places. I would bet you won’t be impressed, but I could be wrong. Be prepared for a thorough attempt at wooing from every place you pass on the Reial. Good luck! Thanks for listening!

I enjoyed both the food from this restaurant as well as the people watching. There is nothing nicer on a hot Spanish day then having a table in the shade, legs stretched out in the sun, with a glass of wine and some tasty food. The staff are friendly, understand if you are in a rush(or more interested in sitting for hours chatting) and deliver some healthy and well cooked food. I will be back when I have some time.

Not bad if you’re exhausted, hungry, had a fantastic lunch, have had and spent a fortune on good food previous to your visit and your tour ends/starts in Placa Reial. I’ve had better patatas bravas and sangria in NY. The tomato bread is the best I’ve had here so far though. Tasty. The heat lamps on the«terrace» are worth a few euro and there’s lots of people to watch

Lovely location especially to eat al fresco in the evening under heat lamps. The food was delicious, especially the pulpo Valencia, which was cooked perfectly; that is a must. The pan y tomatoes seem to be a staple at most restaurants and after trying it here I understand why; it has a burst of flavor. The papas are fried perfectly with hot sauce and the salad was fresh. A pitcher of sangria to wash it down. The arroz negro was a good size with seafood cooked perfectly. Just wish the rice want over cooked. Beautiful venue indoors as well!

What a disappointment! Great location, good energy but lots of problems. It started with drink service. Yes there is a difference between dry martini from one place to another, but never with sweet vermouth and certainly not twice. The waiter needs training at least to know when he doesn’t know and ask for help. This is not a remote«locals only» place. The starters were pretty good. Clams in particular. But then a bomb! The Fideuà, a national dish of Catalan was a gooey, sticky mess with two langoustines and 4 clams for two people. Maybe traces of other fish, but nothing discernible. All this for € 40. Avoid this place.

An enjoyable restaurant in an elegant setting, the Placa Reial in Barcelona, the MariscCO specializes in fish dishes. Everything is fresh, the outdoor setting is lovely, and the service, provided by attractive waiters, is good. They serve an interesting version of gazpacho and I recommend the tuna tartare with avocados.

My friend and I had pretty high hopes for MariscCo, after all everywhere else we’ve eaten at was at worst mediocre. I am compelled to give MariscCo only 1 star, but I want to be fair. It could have been worse, much worse. The décor and the atmosphere of the restaurant itself was quite nice. The outside seating area was almost completely full. There was a nice array of big, fresh caught seafood at the counter. The service was also pretty good and the food came extremely quickly — probably about 5 – 8 minutes after ordering. Food(from bad to worse): Mussels — pretty good, but nothing memorable. Potatoes — just OK, needed more mayo and more time in the cooker. Garlic Shrimp — good, overcooked slightly, but nice sauce. Grilled King Prawns — not really king prawns, quite small, overcooked. Grilled Sea Bass — well cooked, but WASNOTSCALED?! Maybe it’s a thing that I’m not aware of, but it rendered 50% of the fish inedible. What was worse was that all the scales got all over the rest of my food. I spent most of my time at that restaurant spitting out scales. AWFUL. The fish was also not properly de-boned. Never again. The only thing that could have been this experience worse was if we had gotten food poisoning — thankfully, that did not happen, but I was seriously expecting it.

Fantastic location and surprisingly reasonably-priced and tasty seafood! This place is located inside Plaça Reial, where all the restaurants within the square are bustling with tourists sitting in the sun and the hosts are waving you in with their menus. This place looked like one of the better ones so we sat down in this corner with no sunlight as the place is busy and ordered. Service-wise, the place was no good. But food-wise, I was more than satisfied. Even though this place is a seafood restaurant, they claim to serve Tapas, because if you order off of the tapas menu, the portions are smaller, which is better suited for us tourists because we wanted to try everything. The tapas are really cheap actually. We ordered: — Jamon Bellota 5.90: your typical spanish cured ham — very good! — patatos bravas 3.50: roasted potato chunks with spicy dressing — great! — chipiron 3.50: deep fried baby squid — a little too greasy for my liking. — gambas plancha 4.50: grilled prawns with shell on — fantastically dressed! — almejas 3.50: steamed/grilled clams — sooo fresh and awesome with lemon! — crema marisco 3.90: seafood soup — small portion, no actual seafood. It was decent. — olivas 2.50: olives — as they should taste — coke 2.00 — café americano 1.60 Our total was 33.37 euros after tax. I need to go back to this place.

Bustling atmosphere right in a bustling(and touristy) square. Had the pulpo gallego, tender and nicely seasoned with a mild heat from the paprika. Very good service and presentation.

Absolutely. Divine. I would recommend this place to anyone I knew was coming to Barcelona. The service is prompt, polite, and friendly(even with stuttering Spanish). And much more than that the food is fantastic, well-made, generous portions and cheap prices. Let me put it this way: my fiancé and i went out on night to place that was so bad we felt obliged to go to MariscCo to get the arroz negro in order to wipe the former paella’s taste from our mouths. Oh, the interior and restrooms are pretty cool too, but I recommend sitting outside to watch the placa reial if you can.

I had no idea Plaça Reial existed. I stumbled upon it when I was wandering around Las Ramblas. Every restaurant on the square had people pushing menus and trying to get you to sit down and eat. There was a huge line for Les Quinze Nits so I decided to come here instead. After the hosts practically begged me to sit, I didn’t see a waiter for 15 minutes. At least five times, they would look at me, then look sheepishly away, but not send anyone over. Finally someone came over, I asked for water, and they came back in another 10 minutes. I said that I was in Barcelona for one more night so I wanted to try paella. They told me they wouldn’t serve it to me since I wasn’t ordering for two. I got up and left. Solid experience.
