We were waiting for another restaurant so decided to go somewhere for a drink while we wait. We sat in the middle of the street and there was a guy playing his guitar outside on the park bench out front. Can’t beat a bottle of wine on the streets while in Barcelona! We decided to order some tapas and they were good, just wasn’t as amazing and hot as some of the other places we’ve been to on this trip!

The tapas much, much better than we expected! Only the red vine was gruesome. Try their Caipirinha– yummy. I’d go back, but I’m on holiday and don’t want anything again :) Don’t be afraid to go, as last Saturday it was looking a bit empty outside (12 degree Celsius when other outside places had many visitors) but we like different dishes.

I came here recently with friends for dinner. We meet at Plaza Catalunuya and walked around until we found a place that we liked. Piscolabis has outdoor seating (somewhat in the middle of the street) that provides the perfect environment for sharing tapas with friends. While we were there they attempted to get the heaters working but it was to no avail. We all had jackets and it wasn’t that chilly, so it all worked out ok. Some of my favorite dishes were the asparagus, the Japanese chicken skewers, and the grilled vegetables. You’ll definitely want to get dessert here as well. I recommend the truffles. Piscolabis has an extensive wine list, so for the wino reading this review, you’ll want to check out this place for that reason alone. My only issue was with the service. At times they forgot one or more of our tapas/​desserts, and we ended up waiting about a half hour for the bill after requesting it. We had a great time here, but expect to be here about 3 – 4 hours for dinner.

Some hits, some misses. The fried artichoke had some inedible pieces, while most of the other tapas were good. The staff is very friendly and will readily answer any questions you might have. I would give them 3 ½ stars but not four.

El personal desde mi punto de vista es muy amable (bastante jóvenes la mayoría) y eso da vidilla al local, que es para mi gusto muy muy bonito.
La comida está muy buena, puedes ir escogiendo «platillos» y te los van trayendo a medida que salen de cocina.
Ojo! Id un día con calma, porque suelen ser lentos… Tardamos una media hora quizás en empezar a cenar. Fuimos sin reserva y eso sí, en 5/​10min máximo teníamos mesa.
La verdad es que pese a esas nimiedades… Tengo muchas ganas de volver!

One of my favorite places to eat during my two week trip. The food was really tasty and interesting and the service fabulous A great place to relax after a day exploring Barcelona. I look forward to returning here on my next trip.

We went here twice 4 years ago and went again a week ago. Love this place. Extensive menu of both traditional and creative dishes. You cannot go wrong with any of their salads or any tapas that comes with a hamburger. as part of the dish. I wish they would open up a branch in NJ. Located close enough to Plaza Catalunya and Las Ramblas but in a quieter area making the outdoor dining experience even more pleasant.

Delicious! My husband and I went to Piscolabis just because it was easily located near our hotel and we didn’t have much time. It was such an unexpected, wonderful meal. We love croquetas and we certainly were not disappointed by the crispy outsides and gooey insides of these. Mmm, so good! We got a few other dishes, but our favorite was an egg dish with thick potato chips. Try it! The service was also great. Our server knew we were in a hurry, and our tapas came out in a jiffy. I would definitely go there again.

Ein Laden wie viele: Schönes Interieur, ein großer, hoher Gastraum, viele Personen werden schnell abgefertigt. Die offenen Weine sind nicht besonders, die Tapas auch nur durchschnittlich (die Gänseleber-​Tapas sind empfehlenswert). Von Ferne sahen die kleinen Burger ganz gut aus ;o)
Positiv: Durch die Größe des Raums sitzt man nicht dicht an dicht, sondern kann sich ungestört unterhalten.

Bar /​resto à tapas choisi un peu par hasard et validé par Unilocal au cours de ma promenade sur la Rambla ! Comme apparemment souvent dans le coin, les lieux sont tout en longueur, avec une toute petite façade (si on excepte la grande terrasse installée sur la partie piétonne au milieu de l’avenue, mais en plein hiver, bof… même s’il y a des courageux !) et un bar qu’on longe pour accéder à la salle au fond.
Je me suis installé au bar avec l’intention d’enfin me régaler des tapas dont rêve chaque touriste à Barcelone. Et des touristes, on voit qu’il y en a: chaque resto sur la Rambla affiche des cartes polyglottes (tapas écrit en russe, c’est rigolo) et celui-​ci né fait pas exception. Pourtant, malgré l’a priori négatif qui m’envahit dès que je vois ces grandes cartes rigides illustrées, écrites au choix en anglais, français, italien, russe… qu’on voit dans tous les pièges à touristes du monde libre, je n’ai pas été déçu par mon repas: les 4 petites assiettes commandées (largement suffisantes pour faire le repas d’une personne) sont arrivées assez vite, je n’ai pas trouvé le prix excessif (dans les 15 euros avec une eau minérale), et surtout c’était bon ! J’ai dû consommer en un soir mon quota d’ail annuel, mais les rondelles d’artichaut grillées étaient aussi inhabituelles que savoureuses, les petits anchois à l’huile étaient impeccables, et les patatas bravas avec juste ce qu’il faut d’excès de mayonnaise, miam !

A great place for tapas and low budget! Very good service and great place, at first you think is going to be a little small but it ends up being so big and very full always. The patatas bravas are awesome and dados de atun very good as well. If you don’t know where to dine and is late go there and I’m sure you will have a great dinner

Piss poor food that will make you want to throw up for days, and terribly rude service. This was the only unpleasant surprise of my Barcelona trip — I wish we had never set foot in this tourist trap!

Piscolabis was a great place for tasting Spanish tapas! Here we found a wide variety of tapas — 65 items according to the menu! Given that the menu was multilingual with photos of the tasty tapas made our dining experience less intimidating.
My dining companions and I ended up ordering the mini hamburgers with goat cheese, fried calamares, cheese risotto, pasta, and a dish with a variety of olives plus beer and wine. Everything was hot, good, and simply delicious! Given the quality of the tapas and portion sides, prices here were quite reasonable!
Suggestion — if the weather is warm or hot, I recommend eating in the restaurant’s outdoor terrace situated in the middle of the street!

Great service. Great cava. Delicious tapas. What more could I ask for? It’s nothing extraordinary but on a day where I’d like something on the safe side that is generally good, this isn’t a bad option.

Tapas place that has not as much character as the other places. It is spacious, but it feels too shiny. I liked the assortment of olives stuffed with different kinds of fish. The arroz negro (rice cooked in squid ink) was quite alright as well. Cooking was very slow here.

Piscolabis is not good for anything more than a coffee and a bocadillo. Really, just trust me, this place is not good. Its falls under the umbrella of a large restaurant group.

This ended up being a really good choice after we tried to get into two other tapas bars (Tapas24 and Ciudad Condal) but were completely shot out due to overcrowding.
Unlike the other two restaurants, Piscolabis was a large, spacious tapas bar with plenty of seating, a large menu and a casual, friendly vibe. The tapas was not the best we had in Barcelona… in fact, I’ve even had better tapas in Los Angeles, but the variety was great, the vibe was cool and it totally won out for convenience. The price wasn’t so bad either and we were able to enjoy ourselves some liters of samgria!
It’s good service, good food, and I think it’d be a great place for groups and would definitely consider going back if/​when in the area.

We came here for 10 pm dinner during the Easter holiday. Maybe that’s why it was almost deserted. Food was OK. Service was OK, certainly no delay. Atmosphere was lacking. We walked past a few days later and it was again not very busy (on a night where we had to queue at a nearby establishment). Adequate, but you should be able to find much better without walking far.

Un local que combina varias cosas que pensaba que eran casi imposibles de mezclar: buena comida, buenos precios en… ¡una zona muy turística!
Normalmente no me fío mucho de los restaurantes y bares que están en plena zona de paso de turistas en Barcelona, y éste está en plena Rambla de Cataluña, donde los sitios suelen ser bastante caros y de una calidad bastante media.
Sin embargo, en el Piscolabis nos encontramos primero de todo, con un local muy amplio y muy bien decorado.
La carta es bastante amplia, de tapitas y platos pequeños. Como anécdota, algunos platos tienen nombres bastante curiosos (las hamburguesas de Hannah Montana por ejemplo).
En general la comida está bastante buena y los precios de los platos tienen un precio medio, por lo que por unos 15 € puedes comer bastante variedad.
¡Uno de los que repetiremos sin duda!

I arrived here with two friends and I was out of sorts a bit, in a bad mood. I left in a bad mood because I was sad I had already eaten all my tuna in nori tempura.
Sometimes I love food so much I pout after I’ve eaten it because I’m full and can’t eat any more. This was the case at Piscolabis.
The initial offering of pa amb tomàquet, was above par. Pa amb tomàquet gets old in Catalonia quickly, however the bread and fine olive oil used here made the normal bland fare delicious. Seis de los olivos, six olives, pitted and stuffed with fish quasi-​sushi style was amazing. The tuna wrapped in nori (sushi style seaweed, but no rice) lightly battered in tempura were four slices of heaven served up in a light sauce.
My true carnivore friends appeared to enjoy their beef and pepper skewers. They made the usual, «Awww, it’s too bad you can’t eat this, you poor pescatarian, you.» I simply nodded in agreement because my mouth was full of tuna and I wasn’t sharing.
A safe assumption: even someone less neurotic about food would find many things on the tapas menu that they would miss later.

Una buena opción para los amantes de las tapas y el picoteo. Piscolabis tiene otros establecimientos en Barcelona en los que sirven tapas de todo tipo: patatas bravas, calamares a la romana, tortilla, setas, huevos estrellados con chistorra, bombones de foie, delicias de calabacín con quesos de cabra etc. Tapas con buen sabor y un sitio ideal para ir en grupo con los amigos
El precio medio pidiendo unas cuantas tapas, suele rondar los 15 – 20 euros por persona.

Tengo que decir que como Álex yo también siempre he estado en la terraza del Piscolabis y no porque fume, pero es que como diría Ketama se está tan «a gustito» en esta terracita de Rambla Catalunya. Eso sí, como por la noche te toque el músico de turno a toda potencia casi ni te oyes hablar: S
En lo que se refiere a la comida está bastante bueno aunque las raciones muy grandes no son. A destacar el brie frito con sésamo, el clásico pan con tomate, las mini burgers, la tempura de verduritas con salsa romesco y las croquetas de ibérico y 3 quesos. Las superbravas que suenan tan brutales son más bien normalitas y la ensalada de dados de atún con guacamole y nachos es bastante prescindible. Hay muchos más platitos que suenan interesantes, pero por la noche que es cuando me suelo pasar muchos ya están agotados:(Suerte que la tarta Tatin del postre y el salero de los camareros hace que eso se te olvide rápido.
El precio es normal (entre unos 15 – 20 € con cañas), aunque si eres de buen comer puede que necesites un refuerzo posterior sino quieres dejarte el bolsillo en la cena:)

Algunos fumadores son grandes detractores de las terrazas, porque en el exterior el humo se dispersa con el aire, y al salir de la boca, ya lo hace sin energía, resignado a ser una más de las partículas que se lleva el viento. En un espacio interior, en cambio, el ambiente es más concentrado, más receptivo y hospitalario. Hoy en día hablar de esto es no hablar de nada, puesto que son las leyes las que condicionan los espacios donde puede o no circular libremente el humo. Con esta introducción quería terminar hablando de la terraza del Piscolabis, en plena Rambla de Catalunya, como un lugar al aire libre en el que el humo, sorprendentemente, conserva una cierta autonomía –a partir de las cinco de la tarde– y no es empujado de aquí para allá por las ráfagas de viento, ni se desintegra prácticamente al segundo de ser expulsado. Este efecto, además de un servicio muy atento, hace que la del Piscolabis sea la única terraza de Rambla de Catalunya que valga la pena. Tengo que decir que nunca he comido en el Piscolabis, pero en cambio he pasado tardes enteras bebiendo en la terraza, y se bebe estupendamente. Un lugar ideal para ponerse a mirar gente, meter la nariz en una copa de gin tonic, e imaginar las vidas de los extraños que nos pasan por delante. Otro elemento muy destacable son las idas al baño, que permiten atravesar la sala donde se sirven las comidas, básicamente tapas. Es un interior que sigue un poco la decoración japonesa, horizontal y con elementos que evocan las famosas puertas deslizantes. Tiene las paredes y los techos llenos de estanterías con una selección significativa de vinos, utilizados en un sentido deliberadamente decorativo, por sus colores (verde, rojo, negro, amarillo). Una lámpara de madera en forma de araña preside la sala principal, iluminada con unas lámparas accesorias muy hiperbólicas en forma de fanal gigante.
