Shôko

After visiting the Port Olimpic, we explored the beach and decided on Shoko. I was taken with the idea of Asian Fusion in Barcelona.
We were greeted with a complimentary mojito and ordered the olives, the Catalan cheeses, the shrimp ravioli, and the shrimp and papaya salad. The food was tasty, but the atmosphere was kind of like Hampton Beach/​Jersey Shore lascivious.
It wasn’t my favorite tapas place in Barcelona, but it was convenient to the beach, and the staff was very friendly.

We were here for both dinner and the nightlife.
If you find yourself at Shoko, it’s for the atmosphere. It’s huge, beautiful, right on the beach, and filled with groups of attractive people balling out on bottle service…
I was overall happy with our experience here.
The service was outstanding which really surprised me. World’s better than the service you would get at a similar establishment in New York. Drinks were strong and they had a vast selection of cocktails as well as bottles of wine/​champagne/​etc. We both got mojitos. The menu was an interesting mix of Spanish/​Asian Fusion. We stuck to the paella which was huge (perfect for sharing) and delicious. Honestly, I wish I came more hungry because I have a newfound love for paella and doggie bags don’t seem to be a thing in Spain.
Regarding the nightlife — it is insane here (just like the other clubs nearby). And the cover was 20 € which we found to be standard in Barcelona.
Also, while we were there for dinner, a woman was walking around giving back/​neck massages. She only offered this service to men though (lol). I’ve never seen this before in a restaurant/​bar/​club/​lounge/​etc. Maybe it’s a cultural difference? Maybe I just don’t get out enough? So yeah, along with great food/​drinks/​atmosphere, you can also get a massage.

Was recommended by family member while here on honeymoon. To be quite honest we were completely dissatisfied with the food, drinks and service. Not to mention the confusion in venues food theme. We were served raisin bread with balsamic vinegar and goose liver pâté prior to receiving our mediocre sushi. The bus girl was beyond clueless and could not speak or understand us since we were speaking in English. Lastly we told our waitress that we did not like our martini and she still charged us even though it was undrinkable and untouched. Overall, would not advise anyone to waste their time or money here.

Great greeters when we arrived, had a good mix and look for a Monday. Enjoy ourselves because they had a good mix of hip hop and some house on this night. Reasonable for the VIP booths. Would come again and actually check it out on a Sunday.

Lo primero que me viene a la cabeza cuando me acuerdo de Shoko, es el precio de los cubatas. 12 €??? Lo encuentro excesivamente caro para lo que sirven.
Fuimos de cena de empresa, nos costó 35 € el menú y la verdad, me esperaba mucho más, lo encontré muy pobre. El wok de solomillo estaba bueno, pero nada del otro mundo.
El local es bonito, cenas y luego quitan las mesas y se convierte en discoteca. La música no me gustó nada, demasiado «guiri», pero, como punto a favor, los camareros que nos atendieron fueron muy amables y correctos.
La verdad, no creo que vuelva.

Fui el sábado noche con los compañeros de trabajo para celebrar la cena de Navidad. Shoko es un restaurante-​lounge que ofrece una fusión entre la comida mediterránea y la oriental. Cenamos un menú que consistía en un aperitivo de sushi o mediterráneo (ambos minúsculos), brocheta de pollo tandoori con yogurt y menta, wok de solomillo o de langostinos con leche de coco y verduras, y, de postre, brownie. Todo ello a un precio de 30 € + IVA. La comida es correcta, sin más. Ni mucho menos presenta una buena relación calidad-​precio, pero claro, entiendo que en ese importe te hacen pagar la cantante que ameniza la cena, la zona donde se ubica (en el puerto olímpico) y la discoteca en la que se convierte el restaurante pasada la medianoche.
Aquí es donde viene mi mayor crítica. Partiendo de que estos ambientes de gente guapa y cool no me van nada, me parece una falta de respecto que justo acabada la cena y cuando aún estábamos repartiendo los regalos del amigo invisible, aparecieran por ahi unos camareros que nos «invitaron» a levantarnos de la mesa, y en dos minutos, nos encontramos con los bolsos y chaquetas en la mano, a medio abrir los regalos, las mesas donde habíamos cenado desaparecidas y, de repente, estábamos en medio de la pista de baile. Nos apartamos como pudimos y dejamos todas las chaquetas encima de un mesa de un rincón, pero al instante apareció un guardia de seguridad que nos ordenó quitar las chaquetas de ahi y llevarlas al guardarropía. Imagino que tener unas cuantas chaquetas encima de una mesa perjudica la imagen cool que el local quiere proyectar. A todo esto, no dejaba de pasearse por la discoteca un fotógrafo que retrataba a toda la gente guapa (mayoritariamente extranjeros) mientras bailaba (imagino que para subirlas a la web o redes sociales).
La verdad, no me sentí cómoda en toda la noche. Ni esa música house repetitiva ni ese ambiente son para mi. Pero esto ya no es una crítica del local; simplemente que yo no encajo en ese mundo.

Service and ambient was nice but it was seriously the worst and most expensive food I had at Barcelona. If you want a nice dinner do not go to this place!

I frequent this place quite often for their Erasmus Wednesdays. It’s unlimited open bar service from 10:30pm to midnight as long as you’ve put your name on the guestlist in advance. The open bar also comes along with some pretty good tapas (also free). After midnight, most drinks are cheap (2 euros or so?), which is a steal considering their prices on weekends. They also occasionally give out free cocktails for events (like when a Wednesday is preceding Halloween, etc). I wouldn’t necessarily come here on a weekend, but this is definitely my favourite weeknight alcohol-​adventure.

BAD BUSINESS. I am a tourist and went here on a Tuesday night. I saw the people walking in without guest list and wearing tshirt, short, tennis shoe. When myvfriend and i approached to the lady, she stared us up and down and ask if we are on the guest list. We say no. Then she went to someone higher and he say no and she told us no. Then couple more gentlemen walk up and just went in with put her looking at guest list or ask any question. What the heck. Is this a decrimation practice or how do you do business? You should be out of business treating people this way.

Went there for an Erasmus event. Overall, wait-​staff were very rude and atmosphere was pretentious. DJ had a lot of room for improvement. On the plus side, it is right by the ocean and does have a (smallish) outdoor dance floor. I would possibly go back, but only with the right group and only if there was no cover.

Hacía mucho tiempo que no iba a este local y la verdad es que no me enganchó suficiente como para pensar en volver pronto. No fue una mala experiencia, pero tampoco nada del otro mundo. Cenamos bien, un picoteo combinando tapas con algunos platos para compartir, decantándonos bastante por las opciones más ‘japo’. De postre pedimos coulant, bastante correcta. Todo bueno, sin ser excesivamente destacable. Y la verdad es que el precio está por encima de lo que ofrecen, pero supongo que pagas el sitio.
El servicio, al menos la camarera que nos atendió, muy bien, mejor de lo que esperaba incluso. Amable, atenta, pendiente… muy bien.
Como después de cenar lo convierten en local de copas, la ‘transición’ la hicieron mientras estábamos aún cenando, levantando mesas y moviéndolas, y la verdad es que una sensación un poco incómoda porque parece que te estén animando a levantarte.
En conclusión, bien, sin más.

We had dinner here, not drinks/​dancing. The food was a little more expensive than what we had been enjoying in Barcelona. The food was average, but the service was not. I would not recommend this restaurant. We did not want to order the 15 – 20 euro alcoholic drinks with our dinner and we were instantly ignored by multiple servers. We almost got up and left after 10 minutes waiting for someone to take our food order. The setting is very fancy so make sure you are dressed for the occasion as I also believe they do not appreciate guests in normal street clothes. I would not return to this restaurant due to the judgement we felt and poor service.

Bar de playa con buenos cocteles, copas, musica y ambiente. Si quieres disfrutar del ambiente de fiesta en la playa en Barcelona este es tu sitio. Muchos turistas pero eso es parte de la experiencia.

Nous avons acheté des tickets de 5 euros pour pouvoir rentrer sans faire la queue avec deux conso dont une flûte de champagne. Ce qui nous a coûté en tout 20 euros. carrément raisonnable!
Il y avait deux ambiances: à l’intérieur électro/​house et dehors plutôt hip-​hop.
J’ai beaucoup aimé l’ambiance extérieur mais c’était bondé. Impossible de bouger, de danser.
Par contre à l’intérieur c’est beaucoup plus grand, il y a de la place pour danser. Le cadre est vraiment sympa, l’ambiance était top et la musique très sympa! Une musicienne jouait du violon sur de la musique house, très original, ça change des boîtes avec de la musique commerciale!
Bref, j’ai passé une bonne soirée au Shôko mais la prochaine fois je tenterai bien le Pacha qui est juste à côté :)

Was here a week ago just hanging out on the beach and decided to stop and have a drink. Women up front that helped us in was wonderful. Once we sat down on the large couches our experience turned very sour. Our server was a complete from the moment he took our order. He looked at us as if we were stupid. We had a hookah with coals that never got changed and also asked for a menu after we decided to get a appetizer and he never showed up again. Getting the bill was another thing. I had to chase down another server just to get that. Was a male almost 6 foot had a blue button down tucked in with jeans. Darker skin with black framed glasses. This is my 4^th time in barcelona and i will be back in the future but I will defiantly not be going back to this restaurant.

Anoche fui a cenar a Shoko. Tengo que decir que iba con una caja regalo y sólo podre valorar la calidad de la comida, servicio y ambiente. De hecho, no vi la carta ni precios aunque, para orientaros, la caja valía 60 €. Pese a mis recelos iniciales: una discoteca– restaurante o restaurante– discoteca?, admito que la comida estaba buena. Ensalada con gambas y mango, sushi (rico, rico), tempura de verduras y gambas, wok de pollo y coulant de postre, botella de vino y café. La camarera eficiente y rápida. Y el ambiente pues, no es mi estilo, pero de vez en cuando mola ir a estos sitios. Me llamó la atención la cantidad brutal de camareros y staff y que hubiera dos chicas que hacían masajes a los clientes mientras cenaban. También había una cantante guapísima y con muy buena voz cantando entre las mesas. Lo que no me gustó: pues que cuando se acercan las doce vas viendo un ir y venir de camareros quitando mesas y, aunque no te digan nada, me estresé porque veía que querían ya convertir el espacio en discoteca. Es un sitio bonito y, en verano, se debe estar de lujo en la terraza pegada a la arena. Volveré? Pues nunca se sabe. Pagas el sitio, me imagino.

Can’t speak to the food /​restaurant part as this was for the nightclub experience. Showed up a little after 2AM and the place was packed for a Wednesday night. There was a € 10 cover but it included a drink (worth it — a drink was about that much anyway). The music was generally decent for dancing — it was a mixture of hip hop, euro dance, and the occasional EDM.
If you sit out on the back patio, you can order a hooka. Service was pretty slow but it’s not like you’d be going anywhere fast.

So, during the day this place is a nice asian style restaurant on the beach front, but at night the moon comes out to play and it turns into an epic nightclub. It really starts to pick up about 1am and the dance floor is crowded. The music is really good, there are dancing girls up on little platforms (who don’t seem to be that good at dancing…) and confetti falls from the ceiling at regular intervals. The bar gets pretty packed and they do charge you € 5 for a small bottle of water (seriously, what!?) but it’s a good time anyway. There is a coat check room which is a couple of euro but get in early as it does fill up pretty fast in the winter months.

The place itself is beautiful and what lured us in was the fact that they offered sushi along with being a night club that was often mentioned as a place to check out by the locals.
We arrived late on a Friday night, just slightly before they closed the dining area. Once they close the dining area, they remove the tables to make more space for a full night club scene which I thought was cool.
They were able to seat us fairly quickly and service was quick although not exceptional (waitress wasn’t the best). Putting that aside, the drinks were good and the sushi was good but bordering mediocre. We weren’t expecting the sushi to be fabulous anyhow, more there to enjoy the experience.
After our light sushi indulgence, we stayed a little longer to enjoy the night life. We happened to be there during an event called, «Fashion’s Night BCN» in which we got to play fashion trivia to win clothing and accessories. By the time I got a chance to redeem a fashion prize, it was slim pickings but that doesn’t take away from the event itself. It was awesome, I wish I saw this concept apply to the night clubs in the USA!
This place is definitely worth checking out and if you crave sushi, there’s a lot of good options to try!

Great location to party while on vacation in Barcelona. It’s on the beach and has an inside and outside bar. The DJ inside plays house & outside mainstream top 40. Closes @ 6am. Drinks expensive but if on vacation who cares! Would go back.

Super Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung. Obwohl der Laden super stylisch ist und man denken könnte, «das ist nichts für Familien mit Kindern», waren wir sehr positiv überrascht. Unser Kleiner hat leckere Chicken-​Nuggets und einen Schokoeis als Nachtisch bekommen.
Wir hatten Wok, der echt toll war. Die Weine sind sehr teuer, aber das ist an der Ecke in Barca immer so.

Muchos de vosotros lo tendreis como referencia de discoteca, y en ese aspecto como club, lounge es más que notable. punto de referencia para muchos de los que amamos la noche y que buscamos ambientes cool, con buena música y ambiente chic. Si le pusiéramos nota en cuanto a la oferta gastronómica, sería un 7,5. Una idea interesante de comida oriental, mezclada con delicatessen mediterránea, a un precio razonable si entiendes por razonable, por encima de los 20 €. Ambiente para comer elegante. Local de los que te llaman la atención si paseas por la Vila Olímpica que compite con otras ofertas con una oferta gastronómica diferente como Opium o The Roof.
Altamente recomendable para buscar una velada diferente, aunque sin abusar si no quieres que tu tarjeta de crédito tiemble a final de mes.

Wandered in during our «beach day» and grabbed the set lunch menu of € 16.50 for app, main, dessert, a drink (cola, beer, wine) and coffee.
Service was fairly fast and when watching as it filled up, they have a decent system going.
My app was great, a seafood cocktail kind of thing. More of a salad but very very good. My wife went with the salmon pieces with wasabi mayo. She liked but I didn’t care for it.
We both had the penne with shrimp as our main. Huge let down here. Pasta not cooked enough, which I can let go considering it’s a fixed lunch menu, so they’re just pumping it out. The shrimp was the disappointment. Canned baby shrimp. Gross. In a country known for its gambas, to put this on a plate is not cool. Now I did not expect 10 large shrimp with a fixed menu at lunch, but I did expect more than this; 5 medium sized ones would have been great.
Oh well.
We both had the ice cream for dessert and it was pretty damn good actually. Two smallish sized scoops and a cookie thing.
All in all it was a decent lunch experience.

I should start off by saying the food here is quite good and the location is beautiful. Apart from that the terrible service and the plastic dropper left in our food just made for an unpleasant experience.
If you spend much time in Spain, you kind of get used to very, um… relaxed (slow) service. This was so much worse. After waiting about 20 minutes just to have our order taken (the 4 different menus handed over at once are irritating, can’t they just consolidate into one, maybe one separate one for drinks/​wine list?) our food arrives. Starter and main. All at once.
Servers remove the lids off our entrees and I ask if they can put them back on because they arrived at the same time as out first course. Waitress then says to me «oh you didn’t want everything at the same time?»
I speak fluent Castilian. No, we did not want all our food jammed into this tiny table. And I’m not really fond of hot food going cold, so at least keep the lid on my main when you make that kind of mistake so I don’t eat a cold main while I’m having my first course.
I respond to this by asking the server «the starters are meant to come out first, correct?» She sheepishly answered yes.
Mains are covered, taken away. I tried calling after to repeat I just wanted it covered while I ate the starter but nope, walked away. Might have been the lunchtime techno, or just another example of crap service.
So we’re tucking into our starter, and there’s a plastic dropper half full of an orangey sauce in my dinner companion’s ceviche.
I call one of the two servers attending us over and ask «what is this?» she smiles like everything’s just fine and responds «it’s a vinaigrette for the ceviche». Ok, but why is it in the dish still? «It’s a vinaigrette for the ceviche.» Ok, whatever.
We’re still eating our first courses when someone I suppose was the manager came over and asked us if we were ready for our mains yet. Since we were still only about halfway through our first course and our food wasn’t shrouded in a giant curtain I’m not sure why he asked. Finally the mains came 15 minutes later.
No, we didn’t want dessert, we just wanted to leave. When we got the bill not only were we overcharged for my first drink, no one, including the «manager» came to apologize for the poor service or offer something for it.
I’m guessing maybe the kitchen was backed up. They were fairly busy that afternoon. But the servers and manager handled the FOH terribly too, which made for an unpleasant lunch experience.
Shame too. The food was pretty good. Even the vinaigrette on the ceviche. Just leave the dropper out of my plate next time.

Es una de las tradicionales discotecas del puerto (junto a Opium o Catwalk), durante toda la semana hay fiestas diferentes y ambiente de todo tipo.
Suele haber mucho turista, exceptuando el fin de semana.

Food quality: ³⁄₅ fresh but unoriginal and on the coast of Barcelona fresh is kinda something you just expect. The non sushi dishes are also very subpar. I had the pad thai with prawn just to try something unique in addition to sushi and it was bland and boring (maybe 4 small prawns).
Cost: ¹⁄₅ ridiculously expensive. 15+ euro for a roll? Umm ill just fly to Japan. I would imagine if you wanted sushi for a week it would be literally cheaper to fly to Japan and back.
Environment: ³⁄₅ I have to reiterate a fellow Unilocaler here — very weird vibe — jersey shore + telenovelas? Waiters were definitely weird and a bit creepy. Décor is ok. Probably better as a night club although still definitely a jersey shore thing.

Arrivés au Shôko pour dîner.
Service top, très attentionné sans en faire trop et que ça devienne pénible.
3 mojitos testés: strawberry, classic, champagne et ils étaient tous délicieux et très bien fait.
Niveau food: un wok de légumes au soja avec des dés de saumon. DELICIEUX.
Bref, c’est sûr que ce restaurant fera partie des classiques quand on retournera à Barcelone !

Fokus ist hier die Party und nicht das Essen. Qualitativ und geschmacklich in Ordnung, aber nicht weltbewegend. Service ist angenehm und bemüht. Manko: zum Rauchen dürfen die Getränke nicht mit nach draussen genommen werden.

Das Essen ist gut, aber nicht atemberaubend. Außerdem hatten sowohl ich als auch meine Begleitung das Gefühl es gibt zwei Karten mit unterschiedlichen Preisen Eine zum bestellen und eine die einem vorgelegt wird, wenn man sich über die Rechnung wundert. Auch sollten die Kellner die Getränkepreise im Kopf haben. Ein Glas Cava für 5 Euro anzubieten und für 8 Euro zu berechnen hat einen bitteren Beigeschmack. Anyway, es hat mich nicht umgebracht, macht mich als Gast aber auch nicht glücklich. Wie gesagt, das Essen ist gut aber überteuert. Das Interieur auf der Terrasse sollte dringend überholt werden. Alles wirkt ein wenig schmuddelig. Schade, da die Kellner (innen) weit über dem typisch spanischen Freundlichkeitsdurchschnitt liegen. Zum Essen würde ich das nächste Mal eines der angrenzenden Lokale wählen, auch weil die Musik im Shoko relativ laut ist. Es ist halt kein Lokal für ein gemütliches Dinner. Zum Abends was trinken und Schaulaufen aber sicher ideal.

Das Shoko ist ideal für einen schönen Abend mit Essen, Trinken und anschließend zu Tanzen.
Die Preise sind sehr hoch, aber nicht so hoch wie manch andere Restaurants/​Lounges/​Clubs an der Strand-​Partymeile. Es sieht alles sehr hochklassig aus, aber m.E. ist die Qualität nicht das Beste eher ok (also mittelmäßig) im Preis-​Leistungs-​Verhältnis.
Es wird am späten Abend in einen Club umfunktioniert, wie die anderen Lokale hier. Ich war hier nur Essen und Trinken. Auf der Speisekarte findet man typisch japanische ⁰⁸⁄₁₅ Gerichte, die nicht gerade von Meisterhänden gezaubert werden, dafür ist jedoch das Personal ein Augenschmaus und auch echt professionell. Hier tummelt sich auch die Prominenz und so wird man auch behandelt.
Die hohen Preise schreibe ich der perfekten Atmosphäre am Strand zu. Es ist nicht unbedingt etwas, was mich glücklich macht, aber wer auf High Society steht und sich mal einen schönen Abend gönnen möchte, ist hier ganz gut aufgehoben. Denn es ist nicht ganz so teuer wie manch andere Lokale in der Umgebung und was man dafür bekommt wiederum nicht ganz so schlecht, wie in den anderen.
Eigentlich verkaufen hier direkt am Strand alle das Gleiche. Die Gerichte beginnen ab ca. 17EUR aufwärts, Cocktails um die 12EUR.

Das Shoko ist eine stylische Mischung aus Restaurant/​Lounge/​Disco direkt am Strand von Barcelona. Die raum-​gestalterische Atmosphäre im Shoko ist sehr angenehm, man merkt dass hier ein Designer am Werk war.
Das i.d.R. mehrsprachige Personal ist wirklich sehr nett, sehr zuvorkommend und auf Fingerwink immer sofort zur Stelle wenn man etwas möchte. Man merkt dass das Personal auch nach optischen Kriterien ausgewählt wurde. Die Kellner und Kellnerinnen sind alle sehr hübsch anzusehen!
Die Essens und Getränke Karten sind relativ groß. Vor allem die Essenskarte ist für meinen Geschmack fast schon zu groß. Vorwiegend werden Highlights aus der japanischen Küche auf den europäischen Geschmack abgestimmt angeboten. Das Essen hat eine sehr gute Qualität, geschmacklich etwas zu bieten ist aber meiner Meinung nach vollkommen überteuert.
Für eine japanische King Prawn Suppe in der ich die Prawns suchen musste habe ich 27 EUR bezahlt. Für King Prawns in Teigmantel, wovon lediglich 3 King Prawns in Teigmantel serviert wurden und der Rest Gemüse im Teigmantel waren genausoviel. Für die hohen Preise kann man auch bei solch einer Toplocation meines Erachtens nach etwas mehr verlangen.
Die Preise für Getränke bewegten sich für die Lage des Shoko und des Ambientes auf einen normalen Level.
Absolut negativ ist mir und meiner Begleitung aufgefallen, dass die Teller schmutzig waren! Zwar wurde zwischen die Speisen auf dem Teller eine Serviette gelegt, aber auf den Tellern lag dennoch eine feine Sand-​Staubschicht! Als ich mit dem Finger über meinen Teller gefahren bin konnte ich den Sand an meinen Fingern spüren und durch Reiben derer ist er sogar auf den Tisch gefallen. Sowas erwarte ich in einer Pommesbude am Strand aber nicht von einer Location die den Anspruch hat eine gehobene Adresse zu sein. Das passt einfach nicht ins Bild. Dass das Geschirr am Strand schnell staubig wird ist keine Frage. Ich erwarte, dass es bevor es zum Gast kommt wenigsten noch mal grob poliert wird. Sowas darf nicht vorkommen!
Ansonsten kann man im Shoko auf jeden Fall Promis sehen und treffen wenn man darauf wert legt! In der Nähe unseres Tisches saßen sogar ein paar amerikanische B-​A Promis. Wer wird nicht verraten.
Alles in allem muss ich sagen, dass das Shoko Erlebnis zwar ganz nett war, ich aber die Restaurants in Barcelonas Altstadt mit leckeren Tapas oder guter spanischer Mittelmeerküche mit frischen Meeresfrüchten, ohne dem ganzen Schicki-​Micki-​Promi Gedöns, bevorzuge! Insgesam kann ich sagen, dass ich für den Preis schon besser gegessen habe und es erschleicht sich bei mir der Endruck, dass das Shoko mehr Schein als Sein ist. Letzteres mag ich aber noch nicht endgültig beurteilen.

Review is for lunch and drinks on the patio. We liked this place so much that we came three times during our short stay in Barcelona. They have free wifi. Ask for the password.
Great service, beautiful space and good looking staff. The so called «thugs», aka our waiter even chased down a guy selling flowers on the beach who was trying to rip us off.
Shoko is a restaurant/​nightclub. They have tables for dining, romantic seating pods, and comfy couches for sipping beautifully prepared cocktails. I appreciate the bowls of fresh fruit that is cut to order for the drinks. My only complaint is some of the drinks were a bit too sweet for me. Their best drink is definitely the Cava Sangria, lightly sweetened and filled with fresh cut fruits.
This is a Japanese fusion restaurant so we ordered seafood. The sashimi was very fresh and beautifully presented. The desserts were divine. I especially loved the mango dessert trio.

El Shoko no es para mi y posiblemente tampoco lo sea para ti, a no ser que gustes de tomarte tus copas entre gente semi fashion, casi snob y modernos de quiero y no puedo. Demasiado pijo, demasiado superficial.
El local en si está bien. Funciona como restaurante con una cocina asiática-​mediterránea, que no he probado y como discoteca de la de porteros en la niebla. Lo mejor es su terraza frente a la playa y el poder tomarte una copa tumbado en un sillón, porque apenas puedes soportar lo mal que pinchan ese house facilón mezclado con funky sin corazón.
Una y no más, Santo Tomás.

War hier leider da das eigentliche Ziel des Abends direkt nebenan (Fischlokal) aus unbekannten Gruenden zu hatte. Der Shoko Club ist halt ein Szenelokal wie ueberall auf der Welt. Fussballuebtertragung laeuft auf grosser Leinwand, das Essen ist gut aber wesentlich ueberteuert und es sollte eigentlich ein Japaner sein aber es gibt halt einfach «auch Sushi». Die Einrichtung/​Deko ist schon recht nett und die Lage direkt am Strand sowieso. Sind aber nach dem Abendessen bald gegangen. Man sieht hier aber auch reichlich junge Frauen mit alten, gut situierten Maennern rumknutschen.

El Shoko es uno de esos locales a los que tanto le gustan llamarse de «gente guapa», es decir, si se te ocurre llevar una chaqueta que no sea lo más «trendy», igual consigues entrar, pero no sería raro que te alguien con pinta de ser «gente guapa» te mire de reojo… Es un discoteca que abre hasta las 3 de la mañana y que cuenta con una terraza estupenda a pie de la playa, con una decoración muy cuidada y con la intención de tener un público «selecto» (esas cosas, ya sabéis, siempre son discutibles…). Ofrecen también un servicio de restaurante (una carta de fusión entre la cocina mediterránea y la oriental) pero ciertamente, aunque cubre el expediente, y es correcto, no es nada espectacular ni cuenta con una buena relación calidad/​precio. Aún así, si buscas un ambiente entre lo pijo y lo fashion, te gustará, así que si te apetece tomar una copa allí lo mejor es que te pongas tu mejor modelito y ¡a triunfar

Ich weiß zwar nicht, was unsere Firma dazu gebracht hat, ausgerechnet hier hinzugehen, anyway …;-)
Positiv: Szeniger Laden mit Terrasse direkt am Strand, flottes, hilfsbereites Discopersonal, lustige Location.
Negativ: Wir hatten Flying Bufett gebucht, das aber nur sporadisch durchdrang zu den hungrigen Gästen, die nach einem harten Arbeitstag alle mächtig Hunger hatten. Gegen Ende gabs dann noch Sushi (überraschend gut) und eine Paella (leider viel zu spät, ging kaum noch jemand dran).
Fazit: Eher als Partylocation denn als lockere Dinnerlocation zu empfehlen.

Spieler vom FC Barcelona geben sich mit anderen «promis» die Klinke in die Hand, was in anderen Läden zum Problem werden kann ist hier so «normal» das der Laden immer wieder Spaß macht. Ich selber war in den letzten 3 jahren alle halbe Jahr mindestens einmal hier und hab es immer genossen, selbst bei einer truppe von 15 leuten, bei der dem Türsteher zunächst 1 – 2 personen nicht passten, war er nach einem kurzen gespräch zu überzeugen. Versucht das mal in irgend einem anderen «Szene-​laden».

El pasado viernes estuve en el Shoko y me gustó mucho por su ambiente y musica como por su terraza.
La verdad es que nunca me habia planteado ir a un local como éste hasta que me llevaron personas que lo frecuentaban.
No llegamos a ver el Restaurante (del que me han hablado maravillas) pero sí estuvimos en la discoteca/​bar musical en la que se reinventa luego.
La verdad es que esta muy bién, es muy diferente a lo que estaba acostumbrado y es un bar musical con House con clase, donde tomarse unas copas con los amigos.
La terraza es preciosa y si fuese en verano me recordaria mucho las de Ibiza con más nombre, con unos sillones esplendidos donde reposar un rato y unas vistas a las playas preciosas.
Las bebidas pues como en cualquier otro lugar, el precio normal del cubata, pero tanto la ambientación como los lugares estan muy bién, los ambientes bastante definidos, y ya digo un 10 para la terraza donde se puede estar mucha gente y dónde uno tiene acceso a la playa.
Además comentar que hay mucho extrangero normalmente al estar enclavado en un lugar bastante turístico.
Comentar que la entrada al local cuando se convierte en bar musical/​discoteca es gratuïto y por lo tanto todavia gana más enteros.
La verdad es que el Shoko me sorprendió gratamente.

Shoko combina un restaurante asiático más o menos tradicional con un ambiente de club nocturno. El restaurante ofrece un ambiente moderno de estilo japonés que a partir de medianoche se transforma en una discoteca con actuaciones en directo.
Lo mejor es que en cenas de grupo de esas que acaban con visita obligada a un pub o club, Shoko ofrece las dos cosas al mismo tiempo y evita desplazamientos. También hay que destacar su excelente terraza.

Vom ersten Augenblick an wird man im Shoko in einen wohligen Gemütszustand versetzt. Das Interior, welches hauptsächlich in rot, schwarz und gold gehalten ist, soll im Wesentlichen die Elemente Holz, Feuer, Metall, Wasser und Erde darstellen. In zwei separaten VIP Bereichen, getrennt von der Tanzfläche und einer Bambuslandschaft, lässt es sich der Besucher bei wohligem Licht gut gehen. Auf den Chillout Betten erlebt man die elektrisierende Atmosphäre liegend und kann sich wahlweise von alten japanischen Filmen oder Manga Comics berieseln lassen. Nicht nur wegen des spektakulären Blickes auf das Mittelmmeer, ist die Terrasse des Shoko wohl einer schönsten Beach Clubs von Barcelona. Von Donnerstag bis Sonntag machen Vertreter aus allen Altersgruppen gleichermaßen die Nacht zum Tag. Der Dresscode ist stylisch sexy und das Publikum absolut trendy. Also auf nach Barcelona:)
