Great food after a morning on the beach. The small fish and octopus were awesome and a good price

Espectacular dia de diciembre en el que decidí ir a dar una vuelta.
Durante el verano suelo después de un ratiro en la playa pasar por algún bar de la Barceloneta a tomar una cañita y una tapita pero nunca había ido a la Iberia, siempre estba a tope.
Dió la casualidad que esta vez encontramos una mesa libre y decidimos probar suerte.
La primera impresión es que es un poco caro pues unas bravas salen ppor 4,40 € cuando en otros bares cercanos pueden rondar los 3 €. De todas formas ya estábamos sentados y había que probar.
Sin tomar mucho riesgo pedimos dos cañas y unas bravas y durante la espera, que no fue muhco, vemos como a la mesa de al lado les van trayendo 4 o 5 tapas diferentes, abundantes y con excelente aspecto.
Ahora vemos porqué cuestan 4,40 € las bravas, y es que vienen en una bandeja, cantidad más que suficiente para dos y con una salsa muy buena.
El sabor también genial.
Sólo me queda valorar a los camareros, y en este caso también la opinión es buena.
Ya he tomado buena nota para mis tapeos en verano. Os recomiendo probar este sitio.

De tapas una bombeta con ali olí y unos pescaitos fritos. No se si es el tiempo sin tenerlo tan a mano o que realmente era increíble. Igualmente una sabor maravilloso y pude disfrutar en la terraza de la gente del que ahora es mi nuevo barrio.
Encantada de esta primera parada.

Buscas un buen sitio para tapear por la Barceloneta?. Iberia Taberna es el lugar. No pienses en otros lugares ni te dejes llevar por recomendaciones clásicas en esta barrio.
Es un lugar pequeño, pero tiene una terracita estupenda. Me decidí por empezar con un vermutito (con su olivita y rodaja de naranja). Rico, clásico y casero. De comer, unas bravitas con allioli. Perfectas, cortadas a mano con su salsita bien cargadita de ajo. Poco después pescaíto frito, pura delicatessen. Siguiendo por unos boquerones en vinagre aderezado con salsa de aperitivo. Por supuesto; siempre acompañado por con tomate (rodajitas pequeñas bien untadas con tomate bien rojito).
El servicio es rápido y familiar. Por lo que puede observar es frecuentado por los propios vecinos y eso sin duda es un valor añadido. El precio fueron 15 €/​persona.

Outdoor seating, friendly service, food was good and it’s cheap and cheerful. Pretty basic standard menu. We got prawns, mussels, squid and some not so spicy ‘spicy potatoes’ which were more like diced potatoes with some kind of mayo that’s kinda like a cross between aioli and thousand island sauce… They were cooked well though… Could have been nicer with crisy baked skin… Nice to drop in after beach time. They also have WIFI if you need.

Situé à côté de la Plaça del Poeta Bosca dans la Barceloneta, cet endroit offre une petite terrasse pour prendre un verre ou déjeuner, ce qui est très agréable. Avec une amie, on cherchait depuis un moment où s’installer pour déjeuner, mais soit il y avait trop de monde, soit pas de terrasse, soit trop cher… Tombée par hasard sur ce restaurant, ce fut une bonne surprise. Nous avons partagé 2 assiettes à base de bouchées de porc, une au curry et une avec une sorte de marinade. Avec cela un pichet de sangria, l’ambiance était convivial. De plus, les serveurs étaient très sympathiques et plein d’humour. A la fin du repas, ils nous ont offert l’apéro.
En bref, je recommande cet endroit dans lequel je retournerais sans hésiter. Bön cadre avec des place en terrasse, un personnel sympathique et de bons petits plats à partager pour des prix corrects, que demander de plus?

We were just wandering around aimlessly when the hunger urge hit us. We had no idea what to order so we just choose randomly.
Patates Braves/​all-​i-​oli (Spicy Potatoes): Well if they consider this spicy, I’m fairly disappointed. It was potatoes slices with a sour cream like sauce (aioli). But I can’t complain, the potatoes were perfectly done.
Pintxos (Ponchos): we have no idea what the meat was or the spice. But it was good. Really good. Joanna C’s previous review gives a good description that this is not a ‘skewered meat dish’ like advertised. But it’s awesome. We dipped everything else that we ordered into the sauce.
Plate de Xorico (Chorizo Dish): a bunch of slices of chorizo sausage. I love Mexican style chorizo so nothing else compares. This is bland and has more of an American salami texture than chunky, ground chorizo.
The server was nice. Didn’t speak much English but we both muddled through and figured it out. I saw the other server even showing pictures of items on the menu to other tables… so they try to accommodate as well as they can which is more than I can say about other restaurants.

We stopped here for lunch after wandering around the square going from one closed restaurant after another (not sure why so many restaurants were closed today on a Wednesday!), but gratefully sank into the outside chairs after wandering a bit.
Be advised — the menu prices are different whether you sit inside or outside! We sat outside (which was a bit pricier) because the weather was finally nice and cool and we didn’t want to waste prime outside weather!
We ordered bread with tomatoes which wasn’t on the menu (pan con tomatoes), and it was different from what we were used to — normally tapas restaurants bring giant slabs of crusty country bread slathered with tomatoes and olive oil. Here, they cut baguettes like you would for bruschetta and brought us out a small basket of it. The bread wasn’t AS good as the grilled bread we’ve been spoiled with, but still really good!
The croquettes were ok — room temp and a bit mushy, I wouldn’t order these again.
We also ordered some «skewered meat» which tasted like pork, and they were small bite sized pieces served in a skillet swimming in oil. My husband didn’t like it because it was too cumin-​y for him, but our friends and I devoured every bite. The chorizo plate was also really good.
We ordered snails which were a bit different from what we’re used to — they were like small garden snails and most still had their antennas and heads on! Crazy! Served in a tomato and garlic sauce, they were interesting. What COMPLETELY kicked this up a notch was that we asked for some aioli — some super garlicky mayo, and we slathered each snail we picked out of its shell in the aioli and it was AMAZING.
We also dipped bread in the aioli. SO GOOD.
Their sangria was delicious, and with four people drinking plus each having a soda and lunch came out to 50 euros total — not bad at all! Glad we took a chance on this place!
The server spoke very little English so I was glad for my 8^th grade spanish skills plus a lot of pantomiming. They were really nice!

Absoulutely authentic delicious spanish tapas! Also they have seafood tapas like steamed cocklos, grilled razor –shells, steamed mussels, squid…
Homemade sangría and catalan cava at a good price!
Totally recommendable!
