Bit of a tourist trap but the food and drink was decent despite the higher price. The location was very nice however you pay the premium for that. On the whole, the food was tasty, the sangria was great. I’m not sure if eating a full meal here is worth it but certainly having sangria would be!

We ordered a mixed paella which was very bad and I couldn’t even eat it and my friend had a vegetarian paella which there was no vegetables in it! The food served cold and we asked them to change! The quality was very bad and we talked to their manager! To make it short, a very luxury and expensive restaurant with a very low quality of food which you will feel no respect to their costumers. It is not RECOMMENDED

Solid 4 stars. Starting with the tomato basted grilled bread was great. Mussels were on the good side of average… Dip the bread in the sauce. Calamari was fresh and lightly breaded. I like mine a little more flavorful, but if you like simple and fresh you will like this calamari. The soggy lobster rice was very good and the seafood paella was the best we had during our Barcelona stay. Would easily go back anytime in the area.

This place used to be much better. Be careful of sitting outside as there’s a hidden 15% surcharge that’s not reflected in the menu prices. Even the servers think that this is bad business practice but evidently the owners don’t care. Food was OK but not great. Service was adequate. I wouldn’t go back.

The place looked like a normal restaurant for lunch and we took a chance. Inside the place is huge with only small part being used where all of the customers are bunched together, which made me feel like you’re sitting on a top of someone else’s table. The overall atmosphere inside is of a cheap diner with dated furniture and some plates and cup chipped. They start by bringing you some bread, which later you find you get charged for. Me and my friend ordered burgers and asked for well done … When those came– both were rare inside. After this was brought to staffs attention, they offered to cook it longer, no apologies. After a while of waiting we did end up asking to pay for what we owe and leave … One of the servers did apologize and brought the bill at which point I did notice a charge for the bread and extra drink(which we didn’t order) but whatever at this point we both wanted to get out of there and get a proper meal.

Take a break from the typical tapas. It’s pricier than similar restaurants in the area but mostly worth it. Decent sangria and seafood, surprisingly good tempura. The Catalan mousse is just a mediocre crème brûlée. Chocolate mousse was ok.

Nice appetizzers, had a beautiful escalivada catalana with a superb grated goat cheese topping. But the daily specials were somewhat not well put together. Grilled rabbit and potatoes and tomato sides were disapointing, even more as it was the house ‘recomentat’ dish. Excellent espresso and a fair wine list. Would recommend if, like me, you think Casa Batllo is too full and you need a place to hang out as the crowd disperses. As a destination? Seguro no, hombre.

This is a great choice if you want to depart from the ever ubiquitous tapas. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. They also serve dinner when you want to eat(not 9PM like lots of other places in Barca). We had the t-bone and teriyaki chicken. Both were delicious. Decent prices on wine and food, solid dinner choice.

The only reason why we came here is because our concierge gave us a card and said that we would get free champagne(or something, I don’t remember). The location is really good, the service was okay(though we never did get our free drink). You do have to pay an upcharge to sit outside and they charge you for bread. It was unremarkable enough that I don’t remember what I ate. If you want remarkable food for a great price, go a short distance to Ciudad Condal. My Two Cents: Reasonable price, great location, however, there are a lot better restaurants around Barcelona.

This was our first dinner in Barcelona thanks to our concierge… it was so good, we made it our last meal in Barcelona as well this trip. The service was friendly and attentive, but the cod dinner was the best we had in three countries. Combined with the seafood risotto, we were speechless over the flavors and the freshness. Surprisingly, after reviewing my bank statements at home, this was one of the least expensive dinners as well! Can’t wait to start another Barcelona adventure here again!

Deceptively large restaurant right on Passeig de Gracia. Nice selection on the menu and better quality than eating at most of the restaurants on the nearby Ramblas. The service was attentive. Like several other restaurants in this part on Barcelona there is an up charge to eat outdoors. We took the 15% extra they would have charged us, ate inside and drank another bottle of wine.

My friend and I have been traveling through Barcelona now, just finishing our fourth full day. Normally, I’d be Unilocaling after every meal, but the restaurants here have been so mediocre that until this evening, I’ve had no urge to write a review. This restaurant changed this. Coming from New York, we have been disappointed by the overall lack of variety in food here. But Tenorio was a perfect meal, in every way. We stumbled on it because we got out of bed late, and it was around midnight… things were all closed. This place was open, and we were starving. We were greeted by their staff. It took a while for someone to come to our table, but he really took care of us. No pressure sell, no hassle. No gotchas. We had 3 entrees and two were amazing(entrecôte steak, macarroni bolognese), and one was just very good.(chicken terriaki). The cappuccino was among the best we’ve had, and the tiramisu was light and just right. And also very much worth mentioning — this was by far the best deal we’ve had so far in Barcelona. The food here is expensive, but this place under-charges and over-delivers. Going back tomorrow.

The first night we had din here, it was amazing! Service was excellent! We shared a few dishes, my friend had a salad with pears, arugula, and some sort of delicious creamy white cheese, i had a salad with tuna and olives, and we shared a creamy risotto with prawns. for dessert we had an apple tart of sorts, the tart looked flat, like a pancake and was absolutely divine! We tried the crème catalan, which our server couldn’t describe to us, and that was heaven. We also had a couple glasses of white wine, I forget what it was. The second time we had din here, i had french fries with a fried egg for my app(DELICIOUS), and the veal chop for my entrée. The veal was super tough, and i was basically sawing on it for a long time, it was also very gristly. my friend had the chicken and said it was very good. We had the apple tart dessert again, and it was still yummy. Sadface for the veal. We had chatted with one of the servers and he brought our some aperitifs for us, a liquer, Herbs de Galicia, which was super strong, but very refreshing. As I had mentioned earlier, service is excellent. The restaurant is very modern looking and chic. There is a wine cellar downstairs that looks like an art fixture, and it’s near the restroom. Restrooms in Spain always seem to be a hike, either way downstairs, or way upstairs.

Swift service, but beware you’ll be waiting for food for ages, then some stuff gets added to your bill without you knowing it, and on top of it you get hairs in the food. No apologies or offer to substitute or make another one — just took the plate away. On top of it, a shot of Spanish brandy ran 18 euro, and everywhere else in this town it’s more like 3. By and large, this is a real tourist trap and nothing short of a classic rip off. If you have to dine in the area, go across the street or even to Plaza Catalunya — the service may not be as swift, but you get better food that is also cheaper.

Tenorio is where Gayle and I had our last dinner(for now) in Spain. It’s nicely located on the Passeig de Gracia and right on the«Illa de la Discòrdia». This place was also recommended in one of my Maribel tour«books». We found the«Touristy» factor to be low and during our evening walk through parts of this L’Eixample, there were lots of similarly classy choices. In hindsight, it was too early(8PM) for Dinner and we were just too worn out after 2 weeks in Spain to Dine. We did like the large and comfortable space, that featured an open kitchen, decent service, and of course good wine. Gayle had Lamb and I had Catalan Sausage, of which both of us thought were just«OK». Maybe next time.

Oh how I long for the days when I could just stop in here for a late, leisurly lunch. When my parents lived in Barcelona, I spent many summer afternoons at Tenorio. It’s right, smack on the main drag, Passeige de Gracia, which could scream tourist trap to some. This place is very upscale and classy. The décor speaks for itself, and you can see photo’s of those who have dined when you walk in – Spanish politicians, US Presidents, etc. This is where the Catalonians come for lunch(or the tourist who won’t sh*t bricks when they see the prices… and yes those are in Euro’s). Everything we have ever had here has been delicious. Most notable their seafood and chicken dishes have been to die for. They have a warm goat cheese and spinach salad that I could eat everyday for the rest of my life. They also serve sliced french bread with smashed tomato and fresh basil. When you walk in, you will see a HUGE hunk of fresh parmassean cheese. It’s the size of a tire… you want some of that! Ask for fresh parmassean to accompany your meal. The wine list is exstensive. Those Spaniards are NOT messing around. I found a new favorite while dining at Tenorio. The Glorioso Rioja will compliment any meal here!!! And you can find it at the grocery store inside El Corte Inglés to take a piece of this fabulous restaurant with you! Can’t wait to make a trip back to one of my favorite Barcelona hot spots!
