I have tried almost everything they serve. All the sandwich have been great. The truck is very clean. The service is fast and friendly. The truck is at truckin Tuesday by frontier Texas on Tuesday nights and every other Tuesday at tea2go. Their website has a calendar with were they will be listed. So track them down and give them a try.

Another of Abilene’s great food trucks. Tried them on Food Truck Tuesday at Frontier Texas. Glenda had the turkey and cheese which was very good. I had the Big Poppa which was great! Cheese, cream cheese, bacon, and jalapeños on grilled bread. I really liked it but it was a little small for a big guy like me. That’s ok. I got 2 sandwiches and everybody was happy! Definitely worth trying next time you see their trucks!

We’ve eaten here a few times and everything we’ve had has been great. The Big Poppa is like a giant jalapeño popper, cheesy jalapeño yumminess with just the right amount of kick. The original is perfect cheesy goodness inside with crispy toast on the outside. If you crave something different, they sometimes have tomato basil soup, which is delicious as well. Service is friendly and helpful. Prices are a but high, but seem in line with other food trucks I’ve visited, and the servings are pretty large. One sandwich is more than enough for me.

I had the Big Poppa and it was fantastic! Yummy cheese, bacon and grilled jalapeños on jalapeño corn bread. Couldn’t improve on that! Add the tomato basil homemade soup and you’ll be more than satisfied.

We have tried the Toasted Traveller on several occasions and have been happy each time. They do a great job of putting an upscale spin on the most classic comfort food, the grilled cheese sandwich. The Big Poppa is my favorite. It is a riff on a jalapeño popper and delivers just the right combination of spice and chewy, cheesy goodness. The Avila is also a standout. Even though grilled sandwiches are the feature, do not miss the tomato-basil soup. It is fantastic and goes great with the sandwiches. The owner runs the truck and she certainly pays attention to ensuring only quality ingredients. You can taste the difference. All-in-all a wonderful addition to the burgeoning Abilene food truck scene. Most definitely worth a try.

The Toasted Traveler is a food truck that serves high end sandwiches at various venues around town. They also occasionally have soup and home-made mac and cheese. They have a rotating variety of sandwiches from which to choose, plus some that are on the menu all the time. I ordered the«Traveler»($ 6) which is a grilled cheese with three different type of cheeses and I added bacon to it for $ 1 more. My husband got the«Big Poppa»($ 7) which had cheese, cream cheese, jalapeño, and bacon. A jalapeño popper on toast. We also ordered a side of mac and cheese for $ 3.50. If you add it up, the meal was almost $ 18 for two sandwiches and a side. The sandwiches were very tasty and had quality ingredients. The mac and cheese was a disappointment. The cheese sauce had dried up on the pasta. Skip it. Maybe get the tomato basil soup instead. We enjoyed it but it was a bit of a splurge. Find them on Facebook to see where they are set up on any given day.
