Let me say that Wendy’s is generally my first choice among the big 3 fast food hamburger chains and that I have had no problems with this store in the past on at least five visits. Tonight, however, my wife and I tried to order two hamburgers at the drive-through, without success. Neither the person on the intercom nor the one at the window could repeat the order successfully after three tries. Bear in mind, this is two burgers — no fries, no drinks. The young lady in the window finally gave up and sent for her manager Tobey, to help. His initial words: «What’s the problem?» How welcoming! Sarcasm? He had an excuse — new cashier. Whatever. In the end, it just wasn’t worth taking a chance on such a crew preparing my food, so we left empty handed., but still with a bad taste in our mouths. To the general manager’s credit, he emailed me within a half hour of my sending feedback on the Wendy’s web site. He was cordial and said that he talked to Tobey and offered me a couple of combos to make up for the snafu. Luckily, that stretch of US41 in Acworth is chock full of fast food places, so I’ll be eating at the others for a good long while — at least until that crew is gone. Maybe Tobey will find employment as a bouncer or a similar position where customer satisfaction is not a job requirement.
